![]() 84 Bombing pub fare- eat the ancho and be happy with your life. Beer selection is best you’re going to get in one place, concerning imports et al.- ~200 beers @ any one time. great dingy pub with new patio. (Much needed). problem here Norm; once the smoking law was put into place all smokers found Jacks and now you’ll be damned if you’re a non smoker. It’s almost always STANKY! When I leave there my beard smells like the carpet from a a ’76 el camino that an old-blue-hair pulling on a new pack of Virginia Slims 100’s.... Still love the dog snot out of the place. |
![]() 74 Ambiiance is covered in smoke. Service is generally ok. Draft selection could improve. Not expensive. Would go here 4 times a year, decent place overall |
![]() 72 The best under six bar in Knoxville, has mostly bottles and a decent tap list including the only Olde Hickory account in Knoxville, usually has at least six standard taps of OHB and a couple that rotate. We play trivia here on Sunday night and it is a cheap night. Food is ok but at least cheap. Word of warning, it is dark, smoky, and a total dive. |
![]() 78 Largest bottled beer selection in Knoxville.
One of the best Tap selections with a special hookup with Olde Hickory. Food selection is small as is the kitchen. I would like to see Union Jacks expand but not move too far. Bartenders "Val & Laura" are nice, attractive and down to earth. They know thier beers, all beers are low gravity. Costomers are faithfull and intelligent without being snobby. This has become my favorite watering hole in K-Town. If you don’t like the selection, leave Knoxville because you won’t find any better. |
![]() 88 Yes, Union Jack’s is a great place. It’s a Pub for beer lovers. They have the largest selection of Import Brands I have seen any where in the southeast U.S. The service is always quick and friendly. |
![]() 84 Great place, tiny little pub with a sh*tload of craft beers. Lots on tap, some in bottles. It gets smoky, yes, but I smoke-so dont give a damn. If you want good food, go to Naples Italian right down the street on Kingston Pk. |
![]() 78 If you want bright lights, corporate muzak, industrial beer and grilled chicken sandwiches - don’t go to UJ’s. If you like a cozy atmosphere, knowledgeable staff, good beer, darts, pool and foosball, head on down that way. One of the best beer selections in Knoxville. Does get a bit smoky and too crowded for me about 9 -10, but I’m just an old beer-drinker - what do I know? |
![]() 80 Hell, if you don’t like dives, drink wine. This is actually a nicely undestated bar’s bar. A decent place to get a good brew--they’ve got plenty--and run a little stick. |
![]() 38 This place is a dirty, smokey dive with mangy taps but a good selection of bottles. Nice jukebox. Generally I do not recommend this place at all unless you are stoned. |
![]() 88 Nice reserved place, dim and isolated at night. It can get a little crowded sometimes, though. The pub fare is tasty and there are more bottles here than anywhere in knoxville, even possibly counting beer stores. Good tap selection which is pretty stable and offers many regional brews. There’s a beer special 5 out of 7 days all day long and it’s a cozy place to hang out.
-----------------------------
I’d like to add some notes as I visited here in June 2017, making it my first visit in five years. Not a whole lot has changed except the much more expansive patio area which is a huge bonus. It was less cigarette smoky than I recall inside. The beer list is still very extensive, but plenty other beer bars have caught up over the years. I still love the neighborhood/dive feel with the weird British elevated bar. |
