Jing-A Taproom - The Big Smoke Bistro

A tiny frontage with an expansive and relaxed interior. Lots of wood and very comfortable. Service was solid with good english, flights and wifi. Prices are a bit on the high side, but pours are big and nice glasswear. Lots of beer to choose from and lots of collaborations. A good stop.

After the madness of a great Leap Brewing the chill vibe at Big Smoke was just what we needed. You enter into a small cozy bar area though going down the hallway on the left reveals two more dining rooms, the Jing A brewery and a speakeasy-ish bar. Friendly staff and a it has a delicious menu of southern BBQ, complemented by the Jing A beer brewed steps from your table. Fantastic food, we had the apple-wood pork sliders and a massive serving of fries topped with cheese, salsa, guacamole, shreaded pork, etc. Great service, awesome food and an escape from the hustle and bustle of Beijing means my wife and I give Big Smoke a big thumbs up.

In here on a Monday night but no obvious option of a tasting tray as suggested below. Five beers available, the two I had were very enjoyable. Sitting inside in a dark room. Better in the summer when you can sit outside on the street. Prices seem a little expensive for 350ml measures. Burger was very nice.

We visited this brew pub on 29.11.2014. We liked Capital brewery beers a lot when we had them during several beer festivals in Shanghai. This is not a real brew pub as the brewery and the restaurant do not belong together, however you can find here the brewery in two separate rooms, one for the brewhouse and one for the fermentation tanks. They serve most of the Capital brewery beers although less than in the new tap room, around 6-7. The food is quite good, we had a Mushroom Burger, which was delicious. Service also ok. Next we will visit the new Great Leap brewery.

Home of Jing-A microbrewery and a taster tray of 6 available for 80RMB on Monday nights. Not sure if available on other nights, otherwise beers available in 35cl snifters. Great use of local ingredients to make beers compliment food. Friendly staff though cocktails forgotten and arrived toward end of meal. microbrewery between the front bar and larger back rooms. excellent range of BBQ and Southern US style food, good portions and decent value for money.
