2024-04-06. Good size pub is super busy for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. Nice decor, stone and wood, lots of tap handles along the ceiling. Food was very good. I had the turkey club with a salad and ginger beef soup. Friendly staff is busy. Beer selection is a pretty good mix of breweries and styles - including a couple brewed (or at least labeled) for them. I really liked the place but I was tired and it was super noisy - it was busy, including a decent number of loud kids, and our seat under the stairs meant we heard constant thumps of people going up and down. I would come back for a second visit if I was eating and in the neighbourhood. The location limits how much of the tap list you can try unless you have a driver.

A classic bit of Britain in Ontario. Large old stone public house. Parking lot and the terrace were both full when I arrived 15 minutes after opening. There was room indoors though, in a classic traditional pub atmosphere, and it looked like there were tables upstairs too. Staff were scurrying at lunchtime, but covered the tables nicely and with good humo(u)r. Food was tasty, again typical old skool pub fare. I only had the house beer but the taplist looked like I could have easily spent a couple more hours. Just one cask. Nice stop, thanks to Luc and Stephen for the nrecommendation.

Lovely British style country pub with a good selection of local beers and welcoming atmosphere. Typical British style food fare too.

Recommended by Adam at Beyond the Pale, and seconded by Anthony at Brothers Beer. Out in the middle of nowhere. Busy on Sunday at lunch time. Twenty or so local beers on tap. Attentive, friendly service from Tammy, despite it being very busy. Very British decor. My brisket was okay, but apparently the fish and chips is excellent.

So glad to see this place resurrected better than before. Selection is just about as good as any where in ottawa. If you are passing thru the city on the trans can, you have to stop here. Just off the highway. All the other ott places are hard to get to if passing thru. This place is easy and great.

Cozy little place west of Ottawa, it’s a bit far out but well worth the drive. Great old school british pub atmosphere. The wood stove, the hot-water radiator and vintage armchairs really make that place unique. 20+ taps : local and Ontario micros, euro macro and craft soda. Casks as well. Friendly service. Food was great. I’ll be back.

Love this place. Location is rough, as it is out on the extreme west end of the city, so unless you live close you are nowhere near it for any other reason. Great pub atmosphere, attentive service, lovely food and a solid selection of ON craft beer. Kid friendly as well. Nothing bad to say about it, except how far it is from anything.

Stopped in here while testing cars in Kanata, had been on my list for a while but its out of the way unless you are in the west end of the city (would be a great place for dinner before a hockey game). Service, setting and food was great; unfortunately they were replacing their lines when I was in so they only had two beers being served but I could see what they had the night before and it was a very decent selection, both locals, Quebec and other brews. If it was closer to me I would definitely go more often.

Fabulous pub....the best in the greater Ottawa region. Great British feel to this converted old school house. Good selection of Ontario micros with a cask option. Food was also very good

A nice suprise west of Kanata. Some interesting offerings on tap, including the rare Screaming Beaver, local newbies, one cask engine...solid pub fare is offered. The place is quite stunning, this old country house decorated as a British pub. For the Ottawa area, quite a place.
