42 Venue one on my brief foray into Manchester for a work conference. Visited in the morning for breakfast. Now seems to just go under the name 'Wetherspoons'. A rather gloomy uninteresting 'Spoons in truth. Has that classic look from 20 years ago so needs a revamp. Food was even more lukewarm than the chains usual standard although service was fine. Six cask options but 5 of them seemed your standard affair. |
44 Large Wetherspoons in the very centre of Manchester. Looks like the past, service is bordering on very indifferent. Cheap food catering to all diets. Loads of taps, fair amount of kegs. Taps & bottles are things like Budweiser Light, Heineken, Strongbow & Punk IPA. Two of the cask looked vaguely interesting, one had some horrendous name with slut in it or something akin to that. I picked the other one and it was awful. No idea if condition or beer but pretty much total rubbish. You know what deal is before you get into this beer. I needed to hit the airport early & still wanted to hit something. Not sure if it was worth it. |
52 Very central location and next to our Travelogde hotel. Fairly typical spoons with some interesting cask ales among the 10 hand-pumps. Medium sized open-plan room with the servery to the left of the entrance. And as usual; decent traditional breakfast for just a few quids. Polite service. (Visited with Finn 25.01.2020). |
32 Visited two times, went there for the breakfast beer. Loud and busy.
Next one please! |
34 Hmmm I have to be honest....
This is probably one of the worst spoon pubs I have visited.
Just for People who want alcohol....
Poor selection!
Choose The Piccadilly Tavern 2 min Down the road instead! |
58 Visited January 2017 with beery friends. Went there for traditionel breakfast. Traditionel JDW deco, seemed a bit boring though. Very unpersonal service, tables very close to eachother.. A good thing it wasn´t that busy. |
58 Visited the 5th November with Friends - Standard JDW pub nothing special. Common beer range and friendly staff, quiet old fashion. |
60 One of the loudest and most boisterous Spoons I’ve visited. A toothless 60 year old Asian man, possibly homeless, sat across from me photographing his pint glasses with an Iphone knock-off. I was not brave enough to ask him if he was on RateBeer. Beer selection is smaller than usual, and food (my reason for visiting) was generic. |
70 A so so Spoonies. They have 12 casks, but there was a lot of repetition across the range during my visit. A few new ales on offer for me, which was nice. Nice range of crafty stuff in bottles. Good prices. Friendly service. It’s not one of the ’heritage’ JDW pubs, and the ambiance is nothing special. Best I can say about this place is that it’s a central spot to scoop a beer or two. |
62 Wetherspoons close to the train station. Always some surprises on tap. Cheap and always busy. |
