Lefty’s Wedding Daze Stout
Very dark brown with medium brown head. Aroma toasty malt, wood, coffee, caramel. Full body, somewhat boozy but not unpleasantly so. Flavor is only mildly sweet, wood and mocha and caramel predominate. Off dry finish. Fairly drinkable for a beer this size, complex too. Nice.

Lefty’s Wicked Sticky IPA
Bottle. Pours almost clear, light-brown with a frothy, beige, one-finger head that leaves fair lacing. The first review characterizes it very well. Not ’outrageously tasty’ as the label says. Kinda ho-hum. Just skip it.

Lefty’s Wedding Daze Stout
Bottle. Pours black with a two-finger, brown, mostly-lasting, creamy head that leaves good lacing. Aroma of molasses and caramel. Medium body, appropriate carbo, no taste of alcohol whatsoever, flavors of licorice, caramel, chocolate and molasses, medium sweet, smooth creamy texture and a brief lightly sweet finish. Excellent!

Lefty’s Mystery Box #4
Bottle. Pours clear, light-brown with a foamy to creamy, light-brown, mostly lasting, head that leaves very good lacing. Aroma of pine, hints of sweet citrus, soft-ripened cheeses and funky mold. Lightly bitter body with an increasingly bitter finish, medium body, appropriate carbo, complex, well balanced, flavors of sour green apples, hints of caramel and a slightly dry bitter finish that increases in intensity toward the far finish. I’d have it again.

Lefty’s Doc’s Double Whammy I.P.A.
Bottle. Pours cloudy dark amber with a one-finger, white, frothy to creamy, somewhat lasting head that leaves dots of lacing. Aroma of pine, light grass and soft floral notes. Lightly bitter, light bit of heat but generally well hidden except in the far finish, medium body, soft carbo, flavors of weak herbal tea, cereal, well balanced and a lightly bitter finish that grows in bitterness with time. I’d have it again.

Lefty’s Maple Oatmeal Stout - Barrel Aged
Bomber bottle at Lenner, thanks a lot, Jaryn! Near black with mocca head. Aroma has big maple notes, barrel, vanilla, bitter chocolate, slight coffee and some roasty slight burnt notes. Taste is sour. I get the feeling that this isnt supposed to be sour, either some funky bugs got into the barrel or Lefty has some isseus. Taste is very different from the aroma, no maple here at all. Sour notes, brown malts, faint alcohol and chocolate/coffee notes.

dark red, it smells like a light porter. I don’t get any extra goodness fro m the adjuncts. there’s some sweetness and cinnamon in flavor but i’m not really sure this is a porter.

Lefty’s Big Brekkie Breakfast Stout
Make sure to let this warm and breathe a bit. The aroma is big and smokey with notes of coffee, maple syrup and bacon fat. The flavor is similar with a notably bigger maple pressence. A light creamy mouthfeel leads into a fairly thin finish. I enjoy this beer, but like most Lefty’s brews it could use some depth and chewiness. I will say, I’ve tried this particular Lefty’s brew several times and have never gotten a bad or infected bottle...

Lefty’s India Pale Ale
Disappointing offering from Lefty’s poured into an English pub glass. Weak flavored, mild tasting, not overly malty and certainly not bitter or especially hoppy, I find little to recommend in this one. Once again, I find myself questioning whether I’m rating the style, rather than the brew. This may be a more accurate representation of an English IPA than so many other stronger and hoppier brews, but I just don’t find it very interesting at all.

Lefty’s India Pale Ale
Hazy orange-brown. Ok but somewhat weak aroma of pine. Medium body, lightly carbonated. Flavor is on the sweet side, there is some piney and citrusy hops. It’s on the sweet side, balance is decent but perhaps because neither the hops or malt stand out much. Still, drinkable with nothing particularly offensive about it.

Lefty’s Maple Ale
Cloudy dark wood-like brown. Aroma is kind of bland. Medium full body with syrupy texture. Not much alcohol. Flavor is sweetness mostly. There is some distinct maple at the finish. It’s reasonable but fairly uninteresting.

Lefty’s Wicked Sticky IPA
Nice aroma of citrus, tropical fruit and pine. Unfortunately the flavor does not match up, there’s some generic bitterness but not much in the way of hops, with an off-taste in the finish. Alcohol is well-hidden. Medium body. Hazy brown-orange color. More or less drinkable but that’s about it.

Lefty’s Archie’s Imperial Porter
Bottle shared in NH. It pours deep brown with a small beige head. The nose is chocolate, earthy, quite a lot of tang, cake and some earthy roast. The taste is really tangy, sour roast, earth, jammy berry, some acidity, lactic twang and green apple with a short, tangy finish. Light - medium body and fine carbonation. Infected. Should be that much tang going on in this sort of beer. Unfortunate.

Lefty’s Archie’s Imperial Porter
Bottle shared in NH. Infected! Pours clear brown-red with minimal head. The ode has tart berries, prunes, leather. Light sweet flavor, some tart cherries, leather berries, fruits. Medium bodied with fizzy carbonation. Tart finish, some sugary fruits. So so. It shouldn’t be sour, though, so this is a mistake of a beer.

Lefty’s Irish Stout
Bottle shared in Canaan, NH. Pours clear brown with a frothy tan head. The nose has worn out roasted malts, light toasted caramel, slight oxidation. Light sweet flavor, soured, with tart dark berries, mellow cocoa. Light to medium bodied, fizzy. Quite tart and quenching on the finish, a little oily, some vague cocoa. Well, it’s off.

Lefty’s Honey Brown Ale
This is a very easy to drink beer. Nice, light amber apperance, perhaps even reminiscent of a honey color. Vibrant aroma and a very smooth taste with a mild carbonation. Quite a good taste; the honey is mellow but present (I possibly would have enjoyed just a bit more honey flavor). However, the ale is not too sweet, which is definitely a good thing. Certainly worth trying.

Lefty’s Li’l Sticky
Very light floral aroma with vague hints of citrus. Flavor is similar but astringent and unpleasant. Finish is dry and crisp, vaguely bitter but lacks any real hop flavor or pressence of any kind. Only very slightly better than their standard IPA. I’ll present the following constructive criticism, they make FANTASTIC stouts, but have NO IDEA how to construct a hop forward beer...

Lefty’s Big Brekkie Breakfast Stout
My buddy Adrien picked this up in a trip to see his folks. Slightly aged bottle. The aroma is really nice. Coffee comes through with roasted malts and a light maple sugar note. The flavor shows me the maple sugar up front with coffee a slightly lingering affect in the finish. The body does have the nice chewy oats that help enhance the stout.

The body is a big positive since I love the chewiness. I don’t find bacon anyplace but the other flavors are pretty well integrated. Slightly above average and I had no problem drinking this stout. Maybe the bottling problem have been corrected by the brewer. This bottle had some time to sit and had no problem whatsoever. I would love to sample on draft to see if bacon can be found.

Lefty’s Chocolate Oatmeal Stout
Bomber into a stemmed glass. Pours a dark winter night sky black. Head is tan and strong, engulfs and omits tendered cream like essence. Lacing is mild, clinging, and acknowledged. Aroma of grains, dark malts, chocolate, coffee beans, and sweet fudge. Taste of a dry cocoa/chocolate mixture, slight regular oatmeal, coffee, sticky grains, earthy grains as well. Dry and smooth flowing, carbonation doesn’t offer much resistance, but could be more emphasized to maximize flavor. Abv is not overwhelming but can be noticed. A nice treat on a cold winters night.

Lefty’s Big Brekkie Breakfast Stout
Bomber into a magic hat coffee glass new year day 2015. Pours a medium black with dark coffee hues. Faint lacing, toasty brown, no real head retention, minimal ring round the glass. Aroma not too over bearing of all the breakfast goodness in this one. Maple is in the front, regular oatmeal, French roast coffee, no bacon. Taste is nicely a smogours board of a bfast brew. Hearty stout appeal, thick yet drinkable, more maple, more coffee , more oats, still trying to find the bacon though. Bitter and dry on the tounge and aftertaste, but a sweet coca lingers in as well. This is a nice imp stout. Easy going down and fun. Emphasis on fun. Beer us good first thing in the morning. Not a case of hair of the dog though. Just a good decision to save this one.

Lefty’s Golden Ale
Bottle given to me by friends on a trip to Mass, poured very cold into a frozen stein. Poured a hazy gold, with a 1cm white head that disappeared quickly. Little aroma to speak of, perhaps a bit of hay and bread. Round, smooth mouthfeel, not bitter at all, medium carbonation. Taste was unassuming, much like a macro ale with a somewhat fuller body. Sweet for the genre, but not unpleasantly so - notes of fresh dough, yeast, grain. Nithing terribly special, but nothing offensive either - a nice summer beer, would go well with white fish, Mexican food or a good burger.

Lefty’s Chocolate Oatmeal Stout
Stealthy is the best way I can think to describe this beer. The aroma is mild cocoa and little else. The flavor is also mild cocoa with some roasted malt notes. Med to lighter body for a stout. Clean light finish with some citrus probably from the hops. Generally very understated in all dimensions which makes me consider... what if this were a cocoa IPA. Amp up the bitterness a bit and crispen up the mouthfeel you’re there.
