A thumping cascade of hops. This is more an experience than a beer. Mind blowingly good.

3.1
Liberty Elixir Bright Ale
Poured as pale straw colour with a huge bright white frothy head that retained extremely well and laced well. Carbonation high, lively and coarse. Aroma of sweet citrus (orange, mandarin) and hints of passionfruit - lots of fruits. Taste is similar but less intense than aroma plus with low bitterness on the front of the tongue. Light body. Crisp and refreshing, easy drinking and good for a session.

3.6
Liberty Citra Double IPA
Poured a crystal clear mid-amber with a two-finger beige dense foam head that retained very well diminishing to a nice cap and laced well. Carbonation high and fine. Aroma of grapefruits with topical fruits, pine and pale malt; strong and pleasant nice IPA aroma; alcohol well hidden. Taste of sweet citrus/orange upfront plus tropical fruits with the sweetness balancing the slight alcohol presence; moderate to strong bitterness; not as much citrus as expected. Medium body. Smooth with a moderate to strong bitterness and slight alcohol presence on the finish. Becomes very much ístandardí IPA-like as it warms.

3.3
Liberty / Hop Federation / Epic / 8 Wired IPA Four the Better
Pours a cloudy golden with fine off white head. Nose is lemon, sherbet, bright pineapple. Flavor is more sherbet, lemon peel, pineapple, sherbet and bright finish, a little grain and a bit of grass. Medium body, not really betraying the heft of the alcohol. Fantastic beer (how could it not be given the calibre of breweries), but maybe a little light on the complexity.

Bottle from Greenslopes Cellars 131016. Light amber colour with a decent head and a lot of fruit flavour including melon, peach and citrus. Slighty hazy and the finish is a little musty. Overall quite good.

Liberty Halo Pilsner
Aroma and taste of passion fruit. Easy to drink. This is a hard and unique one to rate... It is a really nice beer, donít get me wrong. However, as a person who is a huge fan of traditional German and Czech pilsners, this seems a bit unusual...

My favorite beer of the trip to NZ, though the bird dog does come close. Has a unique character that is obviously from the the NS, but then the body is so well put together and it all comes together very harmoniously, Not a super duper hop bomb, but these guys are the kings of hops in NZ.

A hoppy stout, this is rich, full bodied and has a lot of cocoa and dark chocolate oomph. Of course the hops are plentiful too. Solid work from a great brewery.

Liberty Knife Party IPA
Living very much on the edge of the pine style of IPA. Pine aroma, some orange citrus in the mix until the hop resin builds up then there is no telling whatís what. The aforementioned pine aroma translates in to the super long resinous hop finish. The ABV is well covered up.

Shared this with a few sour virgins and they were terrified. Wicked kiwi IPA aroma with plenty to drawn in the unsuspecting victims, followed by a kick of sour to remove the dentures. Nice

Iím not a saison fan and this did nothing to change my view. A curiously pale beer, but unmistakable saison banana ester aroma and unnecessary sweetness

500ml bottle. Pours light caramel with little head. Aroma is sweet caramel, pine and a little biscuit. Flavour is caramel and pine up front, before giving way to waves of tangerine and melon. Big, tasty and not at all refined. No complaints here.

Liberty Alpha Obsidian IPA
330ml bottle. Pours dark and opaque, with a creamy coffee coloured head that dissipates quite quickly. Aroma is big dark chocolate and toast, with a little tropical fruit in there too. Flavour is tropical fruit up front, with mango and pineapple leading into lots of bitter chocolate with a little bitterness left after.

Liberty Elixir Bright Ale
This has hints of and leans towards a session IPA style, then I looked at Blonde or Golden Ales and "closely related to traditional mass market lagers" which is also a bit true except for that hop edge and character that this has, slightly. It looks really pale, it pours really well, and drinks nicely, well behaved and refreshing. Alas not memorable or compelling, and I have 6 of them :-0

Liberty / Hallertau Haterade
On tap at 16 Tun. Sour aroma hides the hops completely. Flavour has the berliner weisse notes big, but the hops bring some fruit and then thereís something completely unwanted. Not quite sure what it is but the aftertaste is not pleasant. Judging from previous reviews, I think they must have updated the recipe, as this is definitely sour.

Growler. Bright amber with a white head that never quite disappears.3+ Aroma of grapefruit, kumquat, pine, mango skin, bread crust On the light side of medium bodied. Perhaps slightly sweeter than expect, but due to more tropical fruit (and maybe some mandarins - thereís a nice little choc-orange note) rather than more bread or caramel. Dries out a little with moderately strong bitterness so the finish is a gradual fading of fruity and resinous flavours. Could be more raucous but I like the balance Liberty strikes very well.
