12 oz bottle poured into a pint glass. The worst "beer" in the world. Kat piss probably tastes better. Avoid this beer and this brewery!

From a 600ml bottle at a social occasion in Shanghai. Very pale straw colour and a very quickly fading white head. Very light aroma of hops. The taste is of sweetish malts which are not balanced by any bitterness. Hardly any hop taste. Sweetish rice flavours are also there. Very thin tasting and slightly metallic. An extremely weak and tasteless beer designed for the Chinese market.

Rapidly dissipating head on quite a pale straw beer. Aroma is of generic pale lager, from start to finish.
Tingly carbonation, a bit fizzy. Not much taste in the mouth. Maybe some light grains or chlorine on occasion? Does the early finish have a hint of hops? I’m not sure. Gets a bit papery in the mouth after a few sips. But generally inoffensive.
Unusually, Phil did not share this.

Pours crisp yellow with a fizzy, disappearing white head. Sparse bubbles, crisp aroma of malt and rice. Average bite and medium carbonation. Not too sweet, and it actually has some flavor. Pleasantly surpirsed by this only at 3.1% and while it has some flavor its not necessarily good flavor, it just doesn’t taste like water.

Pours a very pale yellow, close to clear, with a white, I mean instantly disappearing, head. Aroma is some light rice and barley malt with metal, dirt and sweat mixed in, but when the head disappears before you can sniff it, aroma becomes a non-factor for this beer. Then we’re left with taste, which is close to water with some bitter-sweet rice. The finish is bland and the reason is, why? I was told by locals that Chinese men prefer low alcohol beer.

Can 33 cl. Courtesy of my cousin Martin. Pours a clear pale yellow with a small white head. A little bonbonish maltiness in the nose. Light body, heavy carbonation, sweetish brewing cereal and again a lightly candy-like sweetness. No hops whatsoever. At least not cloyingly sweet as so many other Chinese rice lagers. 100511

Bottle 35,5 cl. Courtesy of my cousin Martin. Pours a clear yellow with a small white head. Sweet cereal aroma - "chicken fodder". Medium body, very sweet brewing cereal - almost sticky sweet. Hardly any hops at all making this an unbalanced cloying mess. But at least it’s not thin and metallic. 100511

What can I say Quality over Quantity. Weak flavor looks like piss water. Rice only goes in sake I understand saving a buck (or many on a large scale) but don’t sacrifice in the ingredients!!!

Bottled in Guangzhou, Guangdong. Clear pale yellow, miniscule head. No aroma. Very light bodied with soapy, rounded mouthfeel. Plenty of water, vague notes of rice. Less bitterness than in your average mineral water. Takes Bud blandness one step further. I’m so happy that Budweiser Wuhan has created this new fabulous product...
