Terminal Gravity Eagle Cap IPA
Can thanks to my brother. A: Cloudy copper profile with a thin drifting white head. Light lacing. N: Grapefruit, pine, cracker, light orange zest, hint of toasted marshmallow. Burnt toast. Grass and leaves are prominent. Coriander and marjoram. Rosemary. T: Bitter with toasted malts. Lots of herbs and pine. The hops are old school alpha acidity. M: Medium body, crisp carbonation, very dry, no alcohol. O: Seems like a reboot of a classic Oregon hop bomb.Nice for a change of pace.

Pint poured on tap at Terminal Gravity. Pours a dark ebony with a satisfying long-lasting thick tan head. The aroma is dark chocolate and roast malt. The flavor echos the aroma with a nice full-bodied mouth feel. Some caramel and molasses notes. The finish is long and slow, a melody I didn't want to end. Very satisfying after a long hike in the Eagle Caps! I cast my ballot for the incumbent Apolitical Stout.

Terminal Gravity Roshambo Hoppy Pale Ale
Bottle from World Beer Market (Sake no Taniguchi). Gentle stinky fruitiness, with citrus, and grass. Lightly hazy medium gold color, Flavors of pale malt, fruity hops, a mellow sort of citrus note, and thin but persistent bitter tracks in finish. Thin-medium body. Okay.

Terminal Gravity, Barley Browns Beast from the East
Two of my top breweries doing one of my favorite beer styles--hold me back. And this did not disappoint. These guys don’t have to go over the top to get attention--this beer is muscular but smooth, more van damme than arnold. aromas of resin, leather, brown sugar. Flavors pine, peat and caramel--i don’t taste the caramel but warm with it quickly, Clean finish. Roscoe’s tap drank in the sushi place round the corner.

Terminal Gravity Cross-eyed Cricket IPA
Decently solid IPA, usual sort of light malt body which goes into solid pine hop notes, its very complex but light, kind of a soapy after though.

Made for the Oregon Brewer’s festival, this is reminiscent of their excellent Festivale Christmas beer, though less chewy. I smell resin, toffee & a sour tange. Sassy flavor--tamarind, rye toast, alcohol. Hearty.

12 ounce bottle given to me by neighbor. Good neighbor! First few sips are fine, then weirdly, this beer lost its mojo. Towards the end I strangely could not tell what the hell I was drinking. Huh? Oh well, free beer is good beer!

Terminal Gravity Roshambo Hoppy Pale Ale
Bottle from HomeBrewStuff. Nice looking pour, medium amber, slight haze, thick foamy head. Aroma looks at the malts, dry and grainy. Taste picks up on the hops, light citrus, bitter, salty. Seems light, tastes heavy.

Terminal Gravity ESG
Pours relatively clear golden, nice fluffy white head. Aroma is grainy, bit of wet cardboard there, probably not the freshest beer around. Tastes sweetish, crisp malts, some honey sweetness. Finishing dry and with some dry bitterness scorching my tongue for a bit longer. Drinks OK, feels maybe slightly oxidised and overall, still not very complicated. Would like to have it when its at its freshest, probably would bee pretty nice summer day companion.

Terminal Gravity Roshambo Hoppy Pale Ale
if the ocean was beer instead of salt water it might smell like this—lemon-grapefruit tang, wheaty sweet. Leather flavor with a little peach & salt. “Hoppy pale ale” truly. Light in weight but the hops make the tongue think it’s stronger. Full finish.

Grunt fill from Albertsons. Orange amber body, small head rise up from the depths. Slow, lazy carbonation. Thick, syrupy consistency. Aroma is malt, toffee and oranges. Taste is mildly sweet, malty. Almost barley wine. Doesn’t seem like 10% at all. Smooth.

Terminal Gravity Roshambo Hoppy Pale Ale
Pours very light golden with almost no head. Beer looks clear coming out of the bottle but is pretty hazy in the glass. Aroma of light citrus with floral undertones. Slight hop bitterness with some sweetness around the edges. The hops work backward down the side of the tongue. Otherwise this beer is very smooth and light in the mouth. Not a tone of flavor, but if you are looking for a relatively light but still hoppy beer this is pretty good.

Terminal Gravity Roshambo Hoppy Pale Ale
This brewery has been at once one of my favorites and at other times produces some of my worst ratings..so here goes! 12 oz. single bottle from Lifesource in Salem OR. $1.79 Pours a simple clear golden colour with a rich and thick off white head, Aroma is not very strong..pale malts and slightly fruity hop. Taste far better.very "rich" and deep hop bitterness..these Denali hops are fruity but not over the top..just a mellow fruitfulness Malts compliment and balance. Nice . Palate compliments the new hops..its medium and softly carbonated..leading to a satisfying mouth feel. Nice smooth bitter ale..well done TG..

Pint in Westside Taphouse in West Salem. OR. $6 Pours a dark brown cola color with a really attractive cream colored head. Chocolate and coffee aromas..maybe a bit of ash and nuttiness. Smooth mild chocolate and medium roast coffee tastes..and slightest drying ash. Great. Very pleasing mouth feel. Dry and well carbonated. A very nice beer here.

Grunt fill from Albertsons. Dark ebony pour with thick, lasting head. Full aroma of roasted grains, some coffee bitterness apparent. Taste brings more roast grains, but not overly bitter, pretty damn smooth. Mouthfeel is great too. All round decent stout.

Draft at Growler Guys. Glad to see this style make an appearance in the NW. Pretty spot on, too. Dark malts abound, perhaps not as bitter as a Kostritzer, but close. Dark brown with small wispy head. Aroma is pure roast grains, coffee notes. Taste also is straight up toasty and burnt toast. Light lager body carries it through. Prost!

Terminal Gravity Eagle Cap IPA
Pours a hazy medium gold with a hint of orange. Nice white head that isn’t large in size but sticks to the top of the beer like a melted marshmallow. A bit more depth of color than many IPAs. This beer looks citrusy and the aroma has a nice bit of citrus as well, along with a nice note of hops. The flavor is a bit sweeter than the aroma would let on, but it is balanced out with a bit of bitter hop on the back end. Crisp in the mouth. I like this as a winter IPA. It has a bit more body and sweetness than a typical IPA but still has a nice hoppy flavor.

Sample at the 29th Annual Oregon Brewers Festival on 07/30/2016. Cloudy yellow-gold color with a medium thin white head that evaporates quickly to a film. Short strings of lace. Aroma of tart fruit, yeast and malt. Light-bodied with flavors of tart citrus, floral yeast and malt. The finish is tart with a lemony aftertaste. Above average overall.

355ml bottle. Pours a hazy copper with a small, creamy, long lasting, off-white head that laces nicely. Sweet aroma of peach, apricot, caramel malt and bread. Sweet flavour of caramel malt, toasted malt, grapefruit, grass, spice and pine with a dry, bitter, resiny finish. Medium body with an oily texture and soft carbonation. Very malty ipa, unbalanced and kind of weird but still ok.

Terminal Gravity Über Östën #1
Tried it at the Oregon Brewers’ Fest yesterday, and liked it enough to pour it today. There was no "#1" in the name, but it appears to have been the same beer. I made my selections based on low fg - or terminal gravity - looking for the least sweet beers, and this measured 0.9. With its fairly low alcohol, I expected it to taste drier, but it was well balanced. Nicely tart and lightly sour, I got away with recommending it to people who wrinkled their noses when I described it as sour. It changed a lot of minds this afternoon. My experiences with sours have all been with Belgians, but I now know I want to pay attention to Berliner Weisses.

12 oz single purchased from Lifesource in Salem, Oregon. $1.79 Pours a clear gold colour with a medium sized thick and frothy off white head. Oh my..aroma not great..creamed corn, cardboard little leafy hop maybe. Taste dull, again corn then we get some hopiness..a herbal hops, malts getting nutty. Overall strange. Mouth feel is just fine..low carbonation but smooth enough. This is an odd beer..its like an old style micro blonde ale. Its not bad per say just not my idea of an IPA in 2006 let alone 2016.

Bottle from World Beer Market (Sake no Taniguchi). Malty, big fat fruity nose, with overripe peaches, maybe some woodiness, too. Copper/orange color, fairly thin head. Thick, syrupy fruit, dates, oranges, some wine or light brandy, a bit phenolic in mid and final. Meaium-heavy body, some alc presence on tongue. Hot aroma, boozy and fruity.
