Quality not quantity. I’m not interested in rubbish beers. Nor am I interested in rating beer from a tiny sample, to truly rate a beer fairly I believe you should enjoy a whole bottle or can. A Real Ale drinker in my earlier years, lost the passion, due to an abundance of mediocure beer in London and surrounds. I was reinspired by the Craft Beer growth in the UK in late 2010, by tasting some of the American style IPAs, Sierra Nevada and in particular Punk IPA from Brewdog. Favoured styles are the more hoppy the better, IPA, DIPA, Black IPA, along with Imperial Stouts and BA beers. My current favourite UK breweries include, Wylam, Deya, Verdant, Cloudwater, North, Northern Monk, Vault City, Polly, Siren and Elusive. I travel regularly to Belgium and Netherlands and know the beers in the region well, always bringing home a huge haul :) [ less ]
