| pushkinwow (54), Ottawa, Ontario | | February 9, 2011 Probably the best LCBO in Ottawa and they will bring pretty much anything that the LCBO has in for you if you ask. Staff have very little knowledge about the beer and you frequently have to have the item number before going to the store if you want them to order something or get something that is not up on a shelf. If you are visiting Ottawa from outside of the province I would recommend stopping here and Broue Haha across the river to get the best possible samples of things to buy to bring back with you. | | MXD (12), Gatineau/St-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Quebec | | July 4, 2010 Gouvernment ambiance. Staff is basically clueless, except for the odd guy that really knows its stuff. Their choice of imports is decent : however, some interesting ones only comes in 6-pack, which is useless as far as tasting is concerned. Also, they tend to be lacking some variety (e.gL why do they only have the Schlenkerla Marzen, and not the other ones? Why only ONE Dunkelweizen? Why no Kristall Weizen?). Still, pretty interesting place, and their seasonals are worth it. Access is a bit sketchy, BUT, there’s a free parking! | | cfrancis (58), Ottawa, Ontario | | May 19, 2009 Flagship store for the LCBO in Ottawa. Great selection of beer, parking is actually pretty good considering it is downtown and it’s free! I always get a good selection when I visit. | | JesseM (31), Kitchener-Waterloo, Ontario | | February 14, 2009 [ Updated August 28, 2009 ] Visited while I was in town for the 2009 OUA swimming championships. A very very nice LCBO, for anyone giving this a low rating you really must not know how well it compares to LCBO’s throughout the province. Awesome selection of almost every beer product the LCBO has, including some special Ottawa area stuff you can’t get most other places (like Beau’s). Includes an underground vintage wine section, which I’m sure would be much more impressive if I were interested in vintage wine, but it’s still a cool aspect. Nice lay out to the store, very large, my only issue was the crappy service. I’m used to decent service with the LCBO so it was just a surprise to me. 2 cash machines operating with well over 100 people in line, not a good set up. Other than that, very impressive store by LCBO standards. | | grandgenie (21), gatineau, Quebec | | January 19, 2009 Bon service, les employés connaisse mes goût et mettre de côté les grand-cru pour moi. Mon endrois favori, il est rapide d’accès et n’est pas trop loin de chez nous. | | robinvboyer (54), Sturgeon Falls, Ontario | | August 7, 2008 Best LCBO in Ottawa, they usualy have everything the LCBO carries. Same clueless LCBO staff though. | | MrManning (55), London, Ontario | | February 24, 2008 [ Updated August 7, 2008 ] A big ass LCBO that has pretty much all you can ask for as far as Ontario micros go. The staff don’t know much about beer, but are otherwise helpful. This location had a few local micros that I couldn’t find elsewhere in the city. Worth in the stop if you’re in the area. (34e rating d’établissement) | | LadySusan (90), Ste-Therese, Quebec | | May 24, 2006 The beer selection is big and choices from many countries. The staff is helpfull.I also go for the wine. You get all the excellent wines from Ontario at very low prices. It is worth the drive from my home for the choices, prices and also gas price. Bravo L.C.B.O. | | Diogène (40), Mirabel, Quebec | | February 25, 2006 It is the best imported beer selection in the Ottawa/Gatineau region. There is a lot of English beers, but not many belgians. There is a lot of uninteresting lagers from eastern europe or asia. At this time of year, their beer selection is not at its best. |
