In old warehouse converted into brewery. Large , spacious with neat gift shop. Almost 20 beers on tap some are one offs. Selection might be good but quality of sampled beers were just average. Attentive service was polite but nothing more. Good stop when in old town.

Easy walking distance from cruise port. Nice selection. We got there just after a tour bus was finishing up a tour. We had our beers in less than 15 minutes. Flights of 4 for $4. Hard to beat that price. WIFI available. Staff was friendly and helpful. Beer selection was more than adequate. Beers ranged from ok to very good.

Fun brewery to visit while in Portland...in part because it’s just in close proximity to others in the area. I was driving around this part of Portland looking for a parking spot...and when I finally found one...I was amazed to see it was right in front of their door...meaning this wasn’t a brewery on my agenda...but obviously the parking spot was an omen...lol! The place is cool...although the store is as big as the tasting room ...didn’t take a tour...but others said they do a good job...as for the beers...ok to good...nothing really noteworthy...especially given the competition in the Portland area. Nonetheless...glad I stopped and tried 2 flights.

I went on the tour here a few years ago and remember it has being one of the most interesting, informative tours I have been on. Obviously this depends on the guide, our was a former brewer so he knew a lot of the details. They have a some unusual methods, which were fun to see. The beer is pretty mainstream/old fashioned but it’s not gross or anything. I don’t remember if I had to pay anything for the tour, but it was worth it.

When I was stationed in Maine, I sometimes visited this brewery after work or even sometimes after other events in downtown Portland. It’s a decent clean atmosphere of a brew shop - nothing wrong with this place. Staff seemed okay for what they knew, serviceable. The selection is obviously based on their brews. The value, well it’s downtown Portland, Maine, go figure, in other words, decent. Overall, decent brewery and super quick tour. Last thing I’ll say is that Allen Pugsley studied in the UK under the British styles so if you don’t like the British styles, quit drinking their beers and trolling a company that doesn’t cater to crapheads.

Directly next to our hotel so I stopped in and picked up a brewery only bottle of barrel aged smashed pumpkin. The shop area was nice but, overdone with gimmicky crap (doormats, placemats, etc). They offer tours every hour with a video of their history and beer samples including 1 full beer. I didn’t stay for a tour. Nothing special here but, it’ was literally I’m between out hotel and the parking garage. Very touristy.

This place is definitely a tourist trap. The tour consists of sitting in a room with church pews, watching a 5 minute poorly made movie, and then sampling some beers. The shop and bar there are very nice looking, but overall I was just let down with everything. Prices were on the higher side. Furthering my point of a tourist trap.

Fun tour, and like someone said, speed dating for beer. Tour guide was quite funny, and he poured lots of beer. None of the beer blew me away, but none were bad either.

The brewery tour was the beer equivalent of speed dating, 8 or so beers in 15 minutes, just rapid fire. But that was OK, because we wanted to move on to some other places anyway. Beer was not terrible.

About a mile walk from the water. Small tour with tasting and huge retail area, anything Shipyard you’ll find here. If your in Portland for beer (who isn’t) a stop here is worth it.
