COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
McAuslan presents its New World take on the classic IPAs of the 19th-century England. In those days, the beers was brewed extra-strong and generously hopped to help it survive the long journey to India. Inspired by that history and today’s blod American IPAs, we’ve married Cascade and Chinook hops with a subtle blend of malts -anyone who appreciates strong ale will love it. Hop bitterness and malt smoothness: it’s a journey your taste buds will enjoy time and again.

snoworsummer (10045) - baltimore, Maryland, USA - JUN 20, 2023
UPDATED: JUN 20, 2023 Can from the brewery. Pours clear bright golden amber with a frothy off white head. Tastes like nutty malt, earth, caramel, and pine hops. Light/medium body and carbonation. Smells like nutty malt, caramel, pine, and grapefruit hops.

UPDATED: MAY 19, 2023 Pours a dark hazy gold with a good head with good retention and lacing. Quite a hop bomb. Very reminiscent of many American IPAs which seem to pack the hops in, but doesn’t balance the rest of the flavours. This manages to do it better than most American IPA, but it’s just alright for me.

UPDATED: AUG 15, 2019 Bière pression bue à Poutineville à Québec. Nez sur le houblon, le caramel. En bouche, arrière goût de banane bonbon, côté aigre, me rappelle plutôt une ambrée. Pas franchement bonne.

5000 (7050) - Hardened Liver, Washington, USA - JUN 26, 2018
Can:   Bright orangish straw, faint haze, light carbonation, mild to moderate foamy white head, fairly nice lacing.   Musty hop nose, light bitterness, smells like a light Pale Ale... or better yet, a Session IPA.   Muted and musty hop character on first sip.   Not all that bright, very mellow.   As it warms it achieves a bit more bite.   Moderate body and mouthfeel.   Muted hop finish.   This one really feels like a Session IPA.   Clean, but not bright enough.

PellicleSensei9 (235) - Ste-Anne-des-Plaines, Quebec, CANADA - MAY 7, 2018
Bouteille 341 ml.

0,5l can. Poured clear golden with white lacing. Pine, hint of citrus. Pretty average, but definitely not bad.

PorterPounder (11039) - Tallahassee, Florida, USA - JAN 28, 2018
Tallahassee, Fl - Beer Stop - 16 oz can, Slight haze to the medium copper pour, nice frothy snow white head with generous lacing, Aroma has some patented spruce accents, a touch of maple syrup. Flavor is where this one takes a detour. Reminds me of the first round of high ABV IPAs that came out in the early 2000's where it was though more was better of everything, Very home-brewish with way too much crystal malt, sugary sweetness, hardly any citrus bitterness comes through, Very unbalanced, Thick enough mouthfeel,
