UPDATED: JAN 20, 2024 I believe this 33 cl bottle came from De Bierkoning on our tour through the Netherlands and Belgium late last summer. This evening I have my globe glass in place, most used one in the small collection. The pour shows a clear, shiny gold body with a significant head of off-white foam and plenty of carbonation. The beer is strongly fragrant, I get a lot of yellow fruit, yeast, grain and a bare touch of citrus. A drink now and I have to say that this is an enjoyable brew. Dried peaches, white bread, apricots, malt, some hops bitterness and meadow. Nice.

UPDATED: NOV 23, 2023 Bottle, 330 ml at Le Bistro Porte de Hal. Cloudy golden, large white head. Malty, grainy, some floral notes, sweet and quite simple. Tad spicy.

UPDATED: NOV 5, 2023 opalescent pale golden colour, large, though not so stable white head; aroma of grainy, peachy, some citrusy, dried apricot, floral and green herbal notes; taste has the same notes as can be felt in the aroma with hoppy bitterness and spicy aftertaste; good one

UPDATED: AUG 7, 2023 Golden, cloudy with a medium lacing white head. A hop, malt and grainy aroma. Light bitter with a malt, yeast and hop end. Gutersloh holiday 2023.

UPDATED: JUN 19, 2023 Backlog. Deep golden amber colour with a steady head and medium body. Aroma of hops and flowers. Taste of hops, grains, flowers, bread. Fruity finish.

UPDATED: JUN 9, 2023 Two bottles at home, 33 cl. Pours clear golden, standard Belgian strong blonde. Omer is very similar, also Cornet. Packs alcohol in a crisp malt package. Strong carbonation. Well balanced and decent mass market strong ale.

UPDATED: DEC 30, 2022 330ml bottle, poured into La Chouffe chalice. A: Golden, hazy, large rocky head which hung around for a while, left a fair amount of lacing. S: Esters and phenols. T: Fruity, lingering candy sugar, hints of biscuit, kept the booze well hidden. M: Heavy body, thick texture, not much carbonation. O: A fairly typical Belgian Strong Pale Ale, fairly sweet could be dangerously drinkable.

UPDATED: DEC 25, 2022 Das Blonde von Hapkin hat 8,5% Alkohol auf der Uhr. Somit ist es ein Schwergewicht. Die Nase merkt den Alkohol nur leicht, der Pfirsich ist im Vordergrund. Der gemischtporige Schaum ist üppig und standfest. Die Farbe ist goldgelb und trüb. Beim Antrunk schlägt der Alkohol zusammen mit der Hefe an. Ansonsten wenig Varianz im Geschmack. Das Bier ist etwas süß. Beim Abgang kommt der starke Alkohol voll durch und hat immer noch den Hefegeschmack dabei. Ganz nett, aber wenig abwechslungsreich. Am Gaumen bleibt auch alkoholische Hefe zurück und macht den Mund trocken. 07-2019
