UPDATED: APR 1, 2024 10'2%ABV. Servida en cáliz, sobrecarbonatada, el contenido de la botella se precipitó explosivamente hacia afuera como un geiser apenas procedí a retirar la chapa. Color negro cobrizo oscuro, espuma beige de media-alta conservación. El aroma es bastante rico, ciruelas y uvas pasas, higos secos, pan negro, plátano maduro, vino de oporto, peras, regaliz, especias... En boca muestra una similitud de matices percibidos por el olfato a través de una textura sedosa. Es equilibrada, moderadamente dulce y contenidamente amarga, trago robusto y rico en matices, donde sus algo más de diez grados quedan perfectamente integrados. En definitiva una riquísima y muy notable belgian dark strong, me encanta.

UPDATED: APR 20, 2024 I have a 33 cl bottle obtained late last year from Finest Belgian. My first experience with the brewery, I hope it goes well. I have my New Belgium globe glass that should work well with a strong dark Belgian ale. But then, about any glass would. The appearance is a dark caramel brown in the body and the head is a creamy, fawn tan foam. I have to say the nose is appealing, it carries stewed dark fruit, bread and yeast. And the drink, well, it is better than the nose. Ripe dark plums, grain, black raisins, leather, sorghum molasses, malt, red cherries and a touch of hard candy. I am too long between heavy dark Belgians, this one stands out for me. And bottle conditioned it appears, I like that too.

UPDATED: MAY 24, 2023 Bottle from Beers of Europe at 10.2%. Pours a murky brown with small off-white head, . Aroma of caramel, malts, touch of brown bread and fig. Taste of caramel, chocolate, raisin and berry, some coffee roastiness, light flora. Mid+ bodied, high fine carbonation. Very tasty.

UPDATED: OCT 10, 2022 33cl 10.2%. Pours brown with a cream head. Nise on sweet malts and caramel. Medium mouthfeel, sweet malts, caramel, some milkchocolate, a bit fruity. Alcohol well hidden. Decent brew

UPDATED: MAY 25, 2022 Color marrón con destellos rojizos, turbia, no deja ver a través de ella. Forma una corona de espuma beige de un dedo de altura, de mediana retención y baja persistencia. En nariz destaca el dulce, la levadura, algo a plátano, frutos obscuros, higo, pasa, malta tostada. En boca es muy sabrosa, caramelo, toffee, nuez, café, chocolate, perfectamente una ale belga obscura, compleja y disfrutable pero para tomar lentamente. Se nota un poco la nota alcohólica pero es agradable.

UPDATED: NOV 10, 2021 Smell-weak to medium, malt, caramel, Belgian yeast. Foam- head rising for bottle before opening, be careful. Generally head is small, light brown-white color. Appearance- brewer bottle cap, simple nice label. Maybe a slight overall bonus. Clear ruby, dark brownish color. From- snifter Price-2,49 euros for 0,33ml Taste- weak malt, hops, Belgian yeast, caramel. Alcool mixed in well. Generally sweet, tasty.

UPDATED: MAR 17, 2021 Bottle, Craft Republic. Gusher. Clear deep brown, no head. 3- Aroma of strong bread, dried fruit (figs, grapes), spices. Full bodied. Sweet with bread and dried fruit before lots of spices and firm bitterness. Anise, coriander, cinnamon. Drying woody spice. Some obvious alcohol. Lacks real depth.

UPDATED: MAR 13, 2021 Bottle at Echarle Huevos, served at home in a trappist glass. Amber-ruby colour, big heas with long retention and a big creamy head. Aroma is malty, liquor, caramel, prunes, raisins, some chocolate, fruits, spices. Medium body, oily texture, good carbonation. Sweet boozy finish. Taste follows the aroma. Great and complex.
