UPDATED: DEC 9, 2019 19-Mar-19 (500-ml bottle: Purchased 12-Jun-09 at the Pizza Port Bottle Shop in Carlsbad, CA)
This Smoked beer pours a black body capped by half an inch of bubbly, tan head that recedes quickly to a thin ring, leaving only a few spots of lacing on the beer-clean glass. The nose offers aromas of molasses, smoky logs, cola, burnt caramel, and black toast. On the palate, it's lightly sweet, moderately bitter, and light-medium in smokiness, showing flavors of molasses, wort, cola, caramel, baker's chocolate, roasted nuts, scorched earth, and burnt toast. The beer is medium-minus in weight, seeming a touch watery, the carbonation is medium-minus as well, and despite the light sweetness, it still has a fairly dry mouthfeel. Overall, this is a Smoked beer that doesn't hit the extremes, but isn't shy either, so right in the middle. It comes across simply as a basic English Stout with moderate smokiness, and that's a pretty tasty beer.

UPDATED: JUL 20, 2019 This is a backlog rating from 2011 from a bottle shared by Tmoney99, from notes. When I had this beer it was average to below average for the style and not something I wanted to have again or I just didn't get back to my notes because of my technology at the time. Words to describe this beer are smoky, meaty, interesting.
