2.9 Birra Moretti Sale di Mare 0,3L bottle (4.8% version brewed by Heineken UK at Edinburgh) as part of a four pack with a free glass bought from Morrisons, Gamston, UK. Aroma: Low bready, biscuity and doughy maltiness. Low herbal, piney and lemony hops aromas plus some very mild corn. Subtle lemon and citrus fruits, too. Appearance: Pours a translucent golden colour with a medium foamy white head that has rather long-lasting retention and leaves average amount of lacing. Some chill haze. Taste: Low herbal and piney hop bitterness. Light lemony and citrusy hop flavours. Moderately-low sweet biscuity and doughy maltiness. Hints of mineral and saltiness. Palate: Light body with moderately carbonation. Slick texture, crisp finish with a very subtle sweet corn and bready, doughy malt aftertaste. Very light touch of mineral and saltiness as well. Overall: On one hand it's very drinkable but on the other hand it does not have much characters (maybe a slight touch of salt?) because at the end it feels all too similar to other mass-produced lagers. Somewhat weird on the nose, wet grass, cardboard, herbal notes. Light body, soft carbonation. Average mouthfeel and texture, lightweight and watery. Bitter taste with mild malty sweet notes in the background. Aroma of malt, wet grass, cardboard. Earthy, minerals, spice. Yeasty and fruity notes in the background.
