COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Consider it an extremely hoppy barleywine, or a really big IPA. Either way, ten hop additions contribute to its lush and intriguing body. Aggressive dry-hopping brings a strong citrus character to the aroma. The flavor and smell of orange-blossoms pervade throughout the experience.
Ingredience:Water,Barley(200 pounds per barrel of American-grown malted barley),Hops(10 hop-strikes,totaling 17 ounces per barrel of American-grown hops) and yeast(it is what it is).

11th October 2008. GABF. Clear gold beer. Aromatic hops nose. A full on barleywine but with an unusual floralness about it. Unusually intense flavour.

Draft @ Smallbar Wicker Park, Chicago, IL. Pours an amber color with a small off-white head. Has a fruity malty dark fruit aroma with hoppy hints. Fruity malty hoppy flavor with hints of caramel and dark fruit. Has a sweetish malty hoppy finish with some bitterness and some hints of caramel in the aftertaste.

Hazy orange-amber color. The aroma is strange, with hops, malt but also celeri. Quite strong body, very good malty flavor (or sweet caramel) and a bit oily, well balanced by the correct (strong) hopping, that is a bit aromatic too, with hop oils, and some toffee impression, growing towards the end. Very powerful and good, but not my favorite.
In my opinion it doesn’t fit the class of the Barley Wines and IPAs, but more a generic American Strong Ale.

(Bottle 65 cl) Courtesy of boboski. Slightly hazy amber golden with a yellowish head. Fat aroma of caramel and hops. Very full in body with loads of sweet caramel and nuts and a hoppy finish. To me this is a classical American barley wine. 150807

22oz bottle shared courtesy of axilla. Poured a medium and clear orangish color with a small sized off white head. Aromas of floral hops, citrus, and caramel. Tastes of floral, citrus, tropical fruits, and some sweet maltiness in there too. I would have pegged this one a Double IPA. Alcohol burn in the finish.

GABF 2008 poured a clear gold with a small lingering white head. Aromas of carmel, lemon, orange and a hint of pine. Palate was medium bodied and smooth with a dry finish. Flavors ofcarmel, grapefruit and pine with a smooth dry lingering bitter finish.
