Martinsh	2.9 Hawkshead Windermere Pale (Cask) Cask at Telford’s Warehouse, Chester (at 3.4%). Pours a pale straw with a small almost white head and good lacing. The aroma is yeasty with citrus and a hint of floral hops. In the mouth it starts off sweet and tangy before rapidly become quite bitter with citrus and grapefruit flavours. Later on floral hops come through as well, plus a hint of spice Finish is dry and quite sticky. It’s OK, but there isn’t really much to it. Saturday, May 4, 2024

In the mouth it is malty and slightly sweet though a touch watery. Flavour is mainly dark fruits plus aniseed and hints of humbugs. Finish is slightly dry and bitter. It’s reasonable. Initial sip is a tad confusing as doesn't bring forth much barley wine notes, with a seemingly hoppy American citrussy TIPA influence.. modest caramel and toasted malt notes, not much vanilla pod notes.. quite nice whatever it is.
