Batch #1. Belgian style Blond Ale with Elderflowers. This “monkish” beer reveals golden hues and puts forward fruity, floral, spicy flavors and aromas. Elderflowers are added to contribute a musty, rose-petal aroma. The smooth beer makes a refreshing complement to meals.
The name: An “oblate” is a person who has devoted his or her life to a monastic way of living but has not taken on full monastic vows. This being our first batch and released beer, it is apt for us to devote the brewery to being “monkish”.
