Belgian Ale - Pale / Golden / Single

The “Belgian Blond Ale” or “Belgian Golden Ale” is a moderate-strength golden ale that has a subtle fruity-spicy Belgian yeast complexity, slightly malty-sweet flavor, and dry finish. Often has an almost lager-like character, which gives it a cleaner profile in comparison to many other Belgian styles. Similar strength as a Dubbel, similar character as a Belgian Strong Golden Ale or Tripel, although a bit sweeter and not as bitter. The “Enkel”, also known as “Trappist Single” or “Patersbier”, is a pale, bitter, highly attenuated and well carbonated Belgian ale, showing a fruity-spicy yeast character, a spicy-floral hop profile, and a soft, supportive grainy-sweet malt palate. Like a top-fermented Belgian interpretation of a German Pils – pale, hoppy, and well-attenuated, but showing prototypical Belgian yeast character. Has less sweetness, higher attenuation, less character malt, and is more hop-centered than a Belgian Amber Ale. More like a much smaller, more highly hopped tripel than a smaller Belgian Golden Ale.
