We believe we are the first British brewery to import a Belgian Trappiste yeast strain to make a Winter Warmer ale.
The Rochefort Abbey strain used to make their world famous dubbels and trippels has added another dimension of spice and fruit to the complex malt bill of our Dorset Cross beer. No expense was spared in this brew as we didn’t want to upset the Big Cheese.
It’s a very easy drinking and moreish ale despite the complex malt tones of toffee and hazelnuts. Aromatic malts are lifted by a spicy fruitiness. Almost like a drinkable Christmas pudding or mince pie.
