Here’s a tasty beer from our guy Colin. He’s one of the brewers here. This beer is a Dunkelweizen, inspired by the many boots of the stuff Colin drank at his favorite bar back in the day. It pours hazy dark brown with the fine khaki head releasing roasted malt, banana, and mild clove aromas reminiscent of fresh-baked banana bread. The lean, easy-drinking body is malt-forward with caramel, roasted malt, and chocolate flavors, followed by banana and clove notes from the German Hefeweizen yeast, then finishes clean and semidry.
Enjoy this true-to-style Dunkelweizen simply with pumpernickel bread and a slice of aged Gouda or with hearty south German fare such as beef sauerbraten. For a bolder twist, a turkey burrito and mild mole sauce will compliment this beer’s roasty and chocolatey notes.
