Bell's 30th Anniversary Ale - Imperial Stout | 11% | 7/14/2023 |
56 Very large Whole Foods with a ho-hum beer selection - like many WF stores of late, the beer section seems like it is gradually being consumed by hard seltzer and hard kombucha - a handful of local craft beers and the more ubiquitous craft brands like Dogfish Head and Stone - not worth a stop for the beer hunter - hard to believe this is the most highly rated “beer store” in Fairfax. |
78 Pretty big Whole Foods with lots of ample parking. Beer is located in the back of the store at the far right end. Possibly the best selection of beers and local ciders I’ve seen for a Whole Foods. Draft bar is located near the cheese counter, next to the ramen bar. Flights, pints, and growler fills available with around 6 or 7 selections. Draft prices were pretty good, at least for local stuff. Pint of a new Flying Dog release for $4. Didn’t try any of the food bars but looked like a good variety of stuff to eat in. Not a whole lot you couldn’t find at other shops but worth a look if you’re nearby. |
72 Nice Whole Foods. Good amount of bottles and beers in the cooler as well as taps. They regularly do special events with some seriously rare beers. |
76 Big dedicated parking lot. Beer is in the back right. Not a huge selection, but some good selections. Prices were not as bad as I thought. Tap beer at several locations in the store. A couple good beers on tap. |
76 I’m not sure I get the LCBO reference of the last rater. 90% of the stuff they sell at this whole Foods you can’t get a LCBO though the LCBO’s do have a better selection of Tall boys. Whole Foods are hit or miss but this one obviously has a good rep.I couldn’t find what I was looking for at Norm’s so they recommended this place. It’s not a large selection but there’s no BMC and what they do have is carefully selected. It’s mostly sixers and large bottles though they do have a tiny pick six section. Wouldn’t definitely stop by again if I was in the neighborhood. |
62 Typical higher end grocery store with selected beer section. Not as big on beer but what was there it was of decent quality. I can’t comment of service much as I only dealt with cashier. Prices were higher than in my local Canadian LCBO. |
76 Larger than average WF with a burger bar up front with a few interesting beers in cans. But bypass that to reach the two bars inside that also serve hot and cold dishes, and fill growlers as well. Beer selection is not large, but seems to be carefully chosen. On the pricey side (or is it redundant to say "pricey" and "Whole Foods" in the same sentence? |
84 Being that I am relatively old, curmudgeonly, and a touch agoraphobic, this is my favorite bar in the area. I love that it closes at 9pm, there is no smoking, no music, no scene, no me(e)at-market. Just some great taps at a cheese bar in a suburban grocery store. Lee does a great job of getting the good stuff. Oh, yeah growlers as well. |
86 very nice Whole Foods in Northern VA. This store has a number of beers on tap for in-store consumption ($3.99) or for growlers to go. When I was there, I had a Port City Porter and an 09 Founders Old Curmudgeon. There is a long cooler full of packs and bombers + two shelves filled with more bottles. They have a good amount of local Mid Atlantic beer as well as Founders, Bells, Stone, Bruery, Clown Shoes, etc. Upstairs there is a cool wine bar with wine taps. |
80 This great place has beer to go in growlers, you can eat at the seafood or bar-b-q restaurants, and the beer selection is decent as well. Prices are average to good for the types of beer the have. They sell my favorite...Founders, and have other hard to finds from time to time. Overall, this is a great store. I always go home with a full growler and several beers...hard to come out spending less than $100 |
