![]() 66 A bit of a hole in the wall with good service and a decent selection, a typical pub ambiance, a local’s hangout. |
![]() 64 unfortunately when you enter the restaurant, you have to cross the stinking smokers-corner and bar; typical viennese fatty food with good quality and large portions, many different beers, but mostly from huge industry-breweries; house-beer seems to be from Ottakringer, toilets clean, service ok |
![]() 52 Went here mainly because of the history with Beethoven and I tried to visit the place about eight years ago. I guess it would have been more interesting back then. Not sure if the beer menu have changed much since then. Solid selection of beer, but not too much interesting there. Well, fair enough. |
![]() 64 It’s a dive bar near Mitte station. The Helles and Marzen was ok. Other beers on tap as well. Smokey woody atmosphere. Quiet when I went. |
![]() 54 Of the rather big selection of beers usually only a handful are interesting. Most of the offerings are not interesting Macros. They do have a changing list of more interesting things. Food is cheap, with big portions, but quality is not that great. The front side of the bar looks pretty neat, but unfortunatly thats also the smoking section. The non smoking section is bland and ugly. The bad thing, if you want to get to the none smoking section you have to walk through the whole smoking area, usually by the time you get to the none smoking area you already stink of cigarette smell. As Schlenkerla mentioned, the beer culture here is not that great. Overall there are definitly better places in Vienna. |
![]() 34 They have quite a few beers, but no real beer culture, also food only average. |
![]() 60 5 minutes walk from the Landstrasse metro station. A regular basement pub, nothing more, nothing less. Slightly more taps than is the norm here, nothing too wild. Their Helles seamed regular macro fare. Good service. There’s food, and it’s more than just regular pub fare I reckon, but I didn’t see anyone eating (in the main room). Not a must see unless it turns out that their beers are from some obscure micro. |
![]() 70 Apparently Beethoven used to live in this building, which is a neat little historical fact. I listed this place under a bar even though it has a full menu mostly because nearly everyone here was only drinking with just a few having any food. Anyway, the place is located in the basement and is full of wooden tables, chairs, floors, stools, the bar is mde of wood, and so on. Older feel to the place and a bit smoky. Pretty fair beer list, with 2 beers on tap that carry the Bierteufl name, a zwickl and a marzen. Thus far, neither are listed here on Ratebeer and I couldn’t get any more information based on my lack of German speaking abilities. Both were pretty tasty. Service was attentive despite our language barrier andthe prices were decent. Having it right near our hotel was pretty convenient, although it’s a decent walk from the city center. Pretty neat bar. |
