I welcomed this place when they opened back in 2015, small but cozy, and their German beers were brewed with quality.
Since then, though, things took a bad turn; they started brewing a bunch of bad beers (above all, the mixes with Odd Society), or just boring beers that wouldn't put them on the map of Vancouver craft; they often didn't have enough beers to pour at the taproom, and the taproom was mostly empty. The Place won't be missed. And probably Doan's beers as well will keep navigating under the radar.

Small and tight space in northeast Vancouver with some really good beers worth trying. Service was great but the tasting room can be packed at the wrong time of day. They also have an arcade machine to keep you busy. I really enjoyed their beers so would recommend a stop for that alone.

A very small space that gave it a cozy, comfortable feel. It was quite packed on my visit, but not overly noisy or uncomfortable. We played a board game, drank a flight, had a pint, and made good conversation with some locals. The service was quick and friendly. There really isn't a lot to say about this place other than the beer was good, the space was comfy, and I'd come back.

Got here roughly around 9.30 pm, walked over from Powell Street. Saturday June 20, 2015.
I was the only patron in there, but that was apparently unusual. Very fast and friendly service. 4 beers on, tasters available. Fairly smallish place, but feels nice somehow. Seems to be mainly German styles available. Very new place still. I can really see myself going back if local!
The girl working this evening helped me with directions to Parallel 49 which was my next planned stop. She also helped me with directions on where to catch which bus so I could find my way back to where I was staying easy enough.

Cute little space that is surprisingly welcome spot to drink. Actually had conversation with tablemates here, which is almost unheard of in Vancouver, so maybe the reno gave them some good feng shui. Staff could use a little something called a smile, though. I think there were only 3 beers on tap, none too exciting, but all clean and good and nothing to complain about. There’s no excuse for not visiting given their location.

I like what they’ve done with the old Powell St Brewery location - they’ve professionalized it. So it’s a small, but fairly typical taproom. They had three beers to open, the Rye IPA being the most promising, but maybe the Kolsch as well. Nothing much else to talk about - it fits nicely on a crawl around the area (P49, Powell St, Bomber).

Small little, but comfortable tasting room. Service is good, but selection of beers is small with 3. No food, but some snacks. Prices are decent and so was the beer. Good for a new place.

Cool little new tasting room in the facilities in which Powell Street Brewing started. Only 3 beers on tap so far, of mixed quality -- no doubt they will expand and improve in time. The people running the place are super friendly and eager to please. I will definitely keep an eye on this new brewery.
