Visited 29th Jan 2019. Brewing equipment at the back (unused for some time), island bar just in front of the brewing kettles. The front room is all wood with alcoves and private spaces before you find the rear room with bar and brewery. Liked Tommy Cooper Corner and Quotation Corridor (towards the outside drinking/smoking area), plus the two large ladies holding lights. Clouded Minds mostly on tap, other brews too, but none of their own. Liked the place, seven new rates (without checking), two cask, five keg. Thai food, free Juke Box, interesting bottle selection in a small glass fronted fridge outside the actual bar, so you could see what was available, plus friendly staff; what more could you ask for?

Visit August 2015.
Brewpub with brewery in the back side of the pub. Nice old fashion pub with a modern twist. Friendly staff, wifi and a lovely smell of brewing beers. Both cask and keg of own beers.

Visited in October 2016. As others noted, I was somewhat confused by the layout. The dark and dingy front room was unoccupied when I entered and, if I hadn’t seen a couple sat in the corridor on the way to the back bar, I would have probably have given up and left. That would have been a mistake, as that is a pleasant room with the coppers on display and decent beers. Service was fine and prices ok.

Following on from DanielBrown’s review, of course it’s dark, gloomy and oddly laid out. And I love it. Pass through the forgotten front room to the better-lit bar and choose yourself a beer from their own brewery (they are a bit light on guests) from keg or cask. It’s good stuff at a good price, and as I’ve yet to see their beers anywhere else, it is a bit of a tickers’ paradise. Others may not appreciate its quirkiness though.

Really odd layout: dark, gloomy, empty front room, which then reveals a lovely bar area at the rear, with brewing kit and central serving area. Their own beers are on keg and cask and the ones I tried were excellent. Very close to the Aeronaut and RL&P, and a 10 min stroll from Acton Central on the Overground, which makes this a really nice crawl.

Visited on 20th May 2014 with Theydon Bois. Lovely old pub in deepest Acton. Front rooms are all low ceilings, wooden beams and oozing history, out the back is a huge room with a brewery in it. It’s light and airy. When we visited had a mix of cask and keg beers on, some duplicates and thought the keg were better. Beermats of all the beers also scattered around. Prices were decent enough and service decent enough, must make the effort and go back at some point.

Visited in August 2015. I liked this place. Unlike many modern brewpubs it’s actually located in an old pub, and a rather nice one at that. It’s divided into several areas and has some cosy nooks & crannies. The brewing kit and bar are in the loftier back room. All in all it’s quite atmospheric. We found seven Dragonfly beers, a mix of cask and keg. The quality was generally above average and the manager was quite chatty, candidly admitting that he didn’t thnk they’d got one of the recipes quite right yet. They have a guest beer or two too. I’m not sure how much they’re going to ring the changes with the beer range but I’m sure I’ll be back.

A very nice old place with a mediaeval feel - low ceilings, dark wood panelled walls (some with old carvings), a flagstone floor and welcoming open fires. I think it was probably once a coaching inn as it has a telltale side alleyway where there are two very small but cosy patios. The bar is right at the back in a large airy hall which also houses the Dragonfly brewery - an attractive set up with all copper tanks and, as a bonus, there was a very nice brewing smell pervading the whole place. There are six cask beers and twelve keg taps, with seven Dragonfly beers and some guests when we visited. We didn’t eat there but the Sunday roasts looked tempting. This part of west London has been devoid of good pubs until relatively recently but it’s well worth making a special visit these days. We made a day of it and planned a route starting in Acton and ending in Shepherds Bush via Chiswick and Hammersmith. (Visited 2 August 2015).

This brewpub is really nice, but the beer they brew is so poor. I tasted a couple of the varieties they had a couple a weeks ago, an no one of them was good: the stout (Dark matter?) and the brown ale. It’s a pitty, because the place, and the logo are really good.
