Brauhaus Gaststätte Schreckenskammer

Space is tight, but packed with locals, so you know its got to be a good place to go. A tight bar area and some tables out front, big beer hall style tables with wood and lots of old paintings and beer paraphernalia on the walls. Beer choice is limited to their kolsch, but it was a good one. Service was decent enough, stayed on top of it as much as they could considering how busy it was. Food was good, standard German fair but well done. Seek this place out if you're in Cologne, the best beer experience I had there hands down.

Only a small part of the place was open when I visited early on a Saturday but with good weather and a few seats outside that was just fine. A pretty decent kolsch available that’s worth a try and friendly enough service.

Visited during my Gamescom visit. dark cafe, full with locals. wanted to eat there but you can only pay with cash, or with card if its over 50 euro... didnt have enough cash so i only got the beer.

Decent place with OK service and OK food. Come here for Schrekenkammer kölsch (wich is good).

nice place with good Kolsch

The brewpub is located outside the busy tourist attractions around the city center, well hidden and quit. It is probably a five to ten minutes walk from the main rail station. The service was ok, the Kölsch was refreshing and enjoyable, the interior very oldschool with some old mans charme. Recommended for the tick and the atmosphere.

My second favourite Kölsch, nice prices as well, and nicer service than what you’d expect from Cologne. Overall recommendable!

Decent kölsch place, very intimate garden. Service was friendly. The Kölsch was average.

Visited on a Friday evening. They have a nice quiet garden out back, the place was not so busy considering the hour. The kölsch is not super classic but quite tasty, and the prices are good. We got some pretty friendly service. Didn’t try the food. Might not return, but it was a fun stop.
