66 Passed by last Friday, surprisingly I had not rated this one. Fancy pub, great setting, mostly common beer. |
62 Crowded sports bar with a huge amount of local taps from many local breweries. Really solid beer list, but otherwise unremarkable. |
72 Located on the lively pub-and-restaurant stretch of Elgin Street, this rather spacious restaurant and pub boasts of the largest selection of taps in the district. I have no idea if this is true, but it looks impressive. The taps are mostly local, the primary focus being Ottawa and its neighbouring areas in Ontario. The staff are friendly and they serve very decent food - I had their all day big breakfast and was definitely not disappointed. Not very expensive, definitely cheaper than similar venues in some other parts of the city, like Byward. Will gladly be back if I visit Ottawa again one day. |
60 Popular with the after work crowd. Mainly Mill Street on tap with other forgettable brews and a local cider. Service was fine during a busy period. |
56 Mill street is mostly all they sell that is interesting. Decent food and service with prices to match but with a bit of the downtown % tagged on makes it a bit pricey compared to other places. Noting much interesting here |
84 Finds a nice niche somewhere between old world pub, and modern day drinking establishments. Comfy feeling to the atmosphere and furniture. Decent food (pulled pork pizza is a fave of mine). Very nice beverage selection, with over 40 taps. Service is top notch, neither forgetful, not annoyingly constantly at your elbow. Prices are quite reasonable. Has become a favourite hangout in a short period of time. |
62 This place is always packed after work and has a good long list of imported beers, worldwide lagers and some Ontario and Quebec craft beer. There is absolutely nothing particularly interesting about their list though - it’s all stuff you can get everywhere. The vibe is good and boisterous - this place is an Ottawa institution. Prices are a little on the heavy side. |
76 Nice upscale pub with among the better selections downtown. They still have a lot of taps devoted to macro crap that they could replace with more craft beers. |
62 Have been here a few times over the last year but today noticed that they expanded their tap list along with the usual macros have expanded to a fair number of local beers (kitchissipe, hog’s back, unibroue, st. ambroise, millstreet and hop city) so thought it should be in the DB. Food is nothing special but neither is it crap - regular pub selection and enough to please most people. Great location on Elgin, close to the war memorial and parliment with a nice patio and giant floor to ceiling windows that open up when the weather is nice so that even inside it decent. Service is usually good although it can suffer when things get busy; taps seem to be clean and proper glassware is usually available. Don’t expect anything too exotic but if you want something with a good local micro selection in this area its a good stop. |
