Visited June ´23. Weather was great so we sat outside in their small sheltered garden. Not the most spectacular view here (walls) but being at beer heaven more than makes up for that. Had the slightly disappointing Märzen from the wooden barrel (must have had the last bit, tasted sludgy and earthy), checked out the lovely rooms indoors and went back on our way. Great stop, friendly and efficient service (outdoors is table service only), next time we'll make it a longer visit.

Located in the middle of the enchanting Old Town of Bamberg, this stylish retro Braukeller is very popular with licals and tourists alike. No wonder, since the delicious beer brewed on location is widely known. However, you would probably have tasted most of it before reaching the place. If so, go for the Kräusen, available only here and only in summertime, or for the lesser known bottles,which can be found in the shop in the same venue. Amiable staff and popular prices, but do not expect more than 2-3 taps to be running.

Beautiful environment. Biergarten filled with old, young, locals, tourists. A must when in Bamberg. Not all variances are available. A bit disappointing. 5-9-21.

Visited 03.08.21. Two of their own smoked beers on draught and two in bottles. A Bamberg institution! Solid traditional German food served until 10 pm. Many rooms with seating indoors.

A magical place with smoked beers and Bavarian cuisine

That is crazy for me! Smoked beer ? I live in Berlin but i tried smoked beer first time. Is a little bit wird but could taste well. Restaurant has a little garden and traditional interior. Tasty German food.

Sat outside in the courtyard on a warm August evening. The tables were all full, although given the Corona restrictions this doesn’t take much. We had reserved ahead and were glad we did. Beer was excellent, setting was great, food was mediocre. Nice spot. Didn’t pick up any ticks here but to me it’s a must if in Bamberg.
