100 Nice Brewhouse, About half-dozen of their brews on tap, some above average, some average. Overall, worth going to. |
62 Checked in here on the way back from Madison. Uh oh, I said on the way in as it looked like a retirement home. Inside I was definitely in the youngest quartile. Bartender was friendly and helpful. Beers were clearly crafted for the masses. Nothing bad, but all were safe and boring. Flight of six, of which you can only pick one, is $7.50. Maybe worth a stop as its right off the interstate but not otherwise. |
72 Dinner w/Family (they knew I was into beer and asked about this or Water Street...figured this wasn’t a chain...). Ambiance is pretty cool - spacious place with lots of brewery supplies throughout - cool corner areas for large parties look like you’re walking into a keg - all in all, the place had a nice vibe, and even when it got busy it wasn’t ’that’ busy feeling. Service was pretty good - didn’t expect much from the waitress about the beer and wasn’t disappointed. Samplers are limited to a select set of 5, which was a bit of a downer. Food was actually pretty solid...prices generally fair. Only had a couple beers - both IPAs on tap, and both were quaffable and pretty decent. Would go back again. |
70 A large restaurant with a focus on banquets. Place kind of has a chain feel to it and the bar is a bit removed from the rest of the place with a few TVs. Service was solid and the bartender knew a bit about the beers. 10 taps with a sampler available during my visit (plus bud bottles if that is your thing). Food was pretty average but the prices were pretty solid. A decent spot overall. |
66 Nice Brewhouse, a bit out of the way, great inside, staff was not attentive though and really didn’t know a ton about the different beer styles. Food was good. Decent beer. Overall, worth going to. |
62 Huge place located right off the freeway. In short, it is a restaurant that happens to brew beer. The beers are mostly non-descript versions of different light beers. No beer was terrible, but nothing stood out either. Food was just OK. Don’t go out of your way. |
64 Visited October 10, 2010 on the way into Milwaukee.
You dont even need directions to get here since you can see it from the freeway. Plenty of parking too. Inside is very large with plenty of tables and bar seating. Despite not having a lot of customers the service was moderately slow. I didnt eat anything there. I tried 7 or 8 beers, most of which were just ok. Might stop back in simply because it’s right off the freeway. |
62 Visited midday on a Tuesday and this cavernous, highway-side place was understandably pretty empty. The bartender was very friendly and attentive. We ordered some wings and they were promptly served and quite good. The beers were hit and miss. Worth a visit to find the hits. (Brewery #603) |
72 Nice place. Big. Had wings - standard. Pizza looked great though. About half-dozen of their brews on tap, some above average, some average. Worth a stop. |
82 The beers are above average. The staff is quite friendly, however our waitress was not real beer savy. It’s a good place for kids as they have a kids menu. The food was really quite good. I had the Blue Burger that was quite nice. |
