“Small shop, great beer collection. From common seen to hard to find specials. Very nice collection of Wild ales and top American IPAs. Prices are ok. Very friendly staff, knowing their stuff and the market and willing to help. First visit but will come back later.“

“Small but excellent collection of several hundred bottles from around the world, including many quite well regarded breweries. Prices are high, with €5-6 being standard and many special releases upwards of €20-30 and more. Very knowledgeable and friendly staff helped me with my requests. Best beer shop in Arnhem currently, but pairs nicely with Barrique which has a different and more economical selection.“

“Previous reviews still hold largely true. Small selection of about 200 bottles, and largely moderate prices in the €3-5 range. Not being real familiar with the Dutch beer scene, a lot of this beer was new to me, but there seemed to be some interesting breweries, like Pigs & Bears, that don’t seem widely distributed. Friendly and helpful staff.“

“Visited in March 2022, don't know why it took so long to do so. Mare a restaurant then a beer place, but they has some new ones for me. Think they are addressing the beer drinker more today. OK for service but then it wasn't crowded. Nice place though, interesting decorations.“

“Interesting formula. Tap your own beer. Choose one of the 100 taps. Large variance of common brews alternated with more interesting ones. Choose your own glass size. Good atmosphere. Good food. Do visit when in Arnhem.“

“Visited on a Saturday night and it was hopping, we were lucky to find a table. Seemed the place to be for the 20-30 crowd. Unique setup:100 taps and pour yourself in any size you want from a centiliter on up. Once you get your card loaded up with cash and get the system figured out, it’s both practical—and fun playing bartender. There are a few duds among the selection, perhaps 10 or so the likes of „Heiniken“, and nothing top level or obscure. But there are a 100 taps and unless you’re familiar with the local scene, you’ll keep yourself well occupied. More surprisingly, the food was very good and quite a step up from normal bar food. Friendly staff too. We’d planned on hitting other places in Arnhem, but never left. Great place. Update 02/24: visited again and had largely the same experience. If anything, the beer selection seemed even more interesting than before, although the food selection may have declined somewhat.“

“Although thought about it, actually never visited this shop. Well stocked on beer, nice selection, Found a couple of interesting beers. Too busy selling X-mas trees outside to rate the service, but from what I could see many returning customers. SO it must be good. Will test next time.“

“Official bar of Davo brewery, located in Deventer. 15 taps, among them a lot of their own beers of course, but also some other breweries. Alongside the taps also some fridges with bottled beers. Very friendly staff and nice relaxing atmosphere. Prices are ok. Choice of different glass sizes, starting from 25 cl. Nice patio / terrace outside, overlooking the river Rhine. Unfortunately I was here on a rainy wednesday evening and it was very quiet, but I imagine this place can be crowdy on nice Sunny days.“

“Meeting point with my new best friend. Staff was somewhat friendly what with the place essentially empty except for the three in our party. I found many of the tap beers to be new, my local friend spotted a few he could try. Nice atmosphere, a fairly standard bar with a number of tables inside and more out in front, lots of windows. Paying the tab, whew, not inexpensive. Thanks for all Benzai.“

“We got to visit this place with a new, good friend who knew the premise here and had great suggestions as to what to try. Thank you my friend, for all of it. The pay-as-you-pour-your-own, I have not seen before. Great selection, many, many beers I have no access to in the states. Hope to make it back it back someday, who knows.“

“Visited with a much more well-traveled friend. I found the brown bar different than what I am used to. Amosphere was okay, beer list was interesting for someone from the states. Service was no more than sell a beer and return to conversation with the regulars. The good news was the cost, relatively cheap.“

“Had a great time here with two US friends who I met up with during their holiday. I knew the Taphuys formula from Tilburg, but this one is twice as big! A 100 taps, lots of new beers, too much to try. We stayed here until we had to part ways, them off to their next stop and me off to the train home. But it was a very pleasant afternoon here, relaxing at a table, me talking way too much about everything as always, while having a couple of nice beers. And some bitterballen of course. Loads of wine too btw if you have someone with you interested in wine. Would definitely revisit.“

“Wasn't too impressed when I visited this place. Old brown bar, looks good, but staff was -as others have said before me- quite disinterested and the beer list did not have anything new for me to try. Only had one beer and left.“

“Short review. Went there last week to meet up with KevinReddirt and his wife. Enjoyed a couple of beers there as we spoke about all kinds of stuff. Very pleasant afternoon. Beer list is ok, though only a couple new beers for me. Friendly staff, though it slightly annoyed me when I ordered beer X and the waitor said "I would strongly suggest beer Y" 'Thanks, but I'll go for beer X.' "Beer Y is better, X is watery and thin". Dude, I want beer X, I ordered beer X, bring me beer X. But I guess this might be an incident and is not representative for their business / staff in general.“

“Huge museumpark with endless parking space. The park has its own tramline with vintage trams, horse coaches, old styles of housing and production processes. One of those is a beer brewery, a small museum about beer making in general and an active brewery with beer to sample. Great (outdoor) museum, free access with museumkaart and free for kids under 4 yrs old too. Enough to see, do, eat and drink to spend an entire day. Super crowded in winter holidays but since its so big that doesn’t matter much at all, and the seasonal attractions like ice skating and winter market make it all the more charming. The park is divided in different area’s focussing on different things (village, trade, farming, etc). At the brewery I could only sample one beer, a small bar nearby had 4 beers on tap and bottles for sale. The shop at the entry/exit has about 4 different brews for takeout in large bottles in a €7-€9 price range. Brews are now exclusively sold in the museum, no longer in shops in the region, I was told by a wine/beer shopowner. We had a great time, if you’re just into it for the beer don’t bother. Museum shop is past the entrance, so you need an entry ticket.“

“Quite a wide collection of beer, for a wineshop. Broad Dutch craft selection with the bigger usual suspects well represented. And then some of the smaller ones. Quite some interesting International stuff as well. I visited especially to find harder to find local stuff and found beers from De Snor and Leroy Brown Brewery. In the corner of my eye I saw stuff from Prairie, Omnipollo, Founders, large ranges of Kees, Uiltje, Jopen, Oersoep and Nevel.“

“Bottleshop in a working-class district on the north side of the city center. Free parking area, but it can be difficult to find a free space near the shop. Parking on the loading area in front of the shop allowed at a quick visit. Decent beer area, a lot of Dutch beers including locals but also a nice international assortment. Friendly staff. Prices are ok. Worth a visit when around.“

“Located in the city center of Arnhem, in a pedestrian zone. Parking available within minutes walking distance, for instance on the north side of the Railway station. (cheaper than city center). Nice store with not that big beer area. A lot of fairly common Dutch and international stuff, but also a few 'hidden gems' I haven't commonly seen in other shops. Fair prices. Friendly staff. Worth a visit once in a while.“

“Bezocht tijdens mooi weer, op een zaterdag middag. Er was genoeg ruimte binnen. Ze hebben 100 bieren op de tap ,echter veel bekende bieren, maar ook een paar minder bekende. Tappen doe je zelf, betalen doe je makkelijk met een pas. Eten rook lekker, onze tostis waren goed. Prijzen zijn aan de hogere kant. “

“Big venue downtown Arnhem with a wall of 100 taps and another 100 in bottle. Very busy when I visited Saturday night. You get a card, top it up and you tap as much as you want of any beer you want. You can take the card with you when you leave if you’re planning to come back. After someone of the stuff explains how it works they won’t bother you anymore. Seems a bit expensive, even with small pours my card was empty pretty quick. Selection is mostly the well known belgian stuff with some local breweries too and a couple of international as well but nothing really exciting. I’d go back for the occasional new beer though.“

“The really delicious pub food - unfortunately not something that I usually associate with specialty beer places! - makes the trip worthwhile even if you’re not a beer nerd. While the food is not expensive at all, the rather small beer portfolio (5-6 taps max) is a bit on the expensive side. The good news: the clearly handpicked, carefully curated and always rotating selection of beers is one of the best you can find in the region. They had some brews from NL favorites Oersoep, Katjelam, Van Moll or Walhalla on tap that I couldn’t find anywhere else besides their own breweries. Good atmosphere and music selection!“

“Visited on April for the first time with vipinvelp, kermis and deanso, yesterday again. This is a hidden gem in the beer desert that is Arnhem, locatd in a narrow alleyway with some other small restaurants nearby. Brown wood interior, with a small and cozy bar, stools on the right height. A couple of tables outside and on the opposite site, a couple more on the second floor. Big blackboards with all the available beers, making ordering easy. A tiny kitchen on the back, making some good looking burgers and a shrimp dish (didn’t have any food, saw it from other tables). I forgot to check the tap list yesterday but the first time it was a solid one. Pretty reasonable prices I’d say. This has to be your best bet in Arnhem nowdays for a good beer selection, even more more if you are fond of a cozy, relaxed atmosphere and not of the posh (Caspar) or hipster one (Tape). “

“A new place for me, despite the fact that the owner has been gently expanding his range for the last 5 years. The bar itself is small and lends itself to good conversation with strangers. The beer selection is not huge but is very intelligent. The kitchen is so tiny that the cook literally fills it with her presence but yet she stills manages to provide full meals. Didn’t try them, although they looked good. The owner is extremely personable and happily engages in beer talk. The bar is also situated in a great little alleyway with a few bars and restaurants. I have been coming to Arnhem for years and yet knew nothing about this alleyway. A hidden gem!“

“Sorry but the Dutch would call this ’vergane glorie’. During the eighties this was pretty much the only place in the periphery where you could get a decent beer. They have obviously been resting on the same laurels ever since. I have just revisited after 2 years and found disinterested bar staff that can’t offer me an Orval (fairly standard these days) but also manage to serve me a Gulpener Dort as a dry and hoppy beer. Sorry but the only thing that this place has going for it is its history and ambiance. There are far better bars in town like Tape, Cafe Meijer and Caspar.“

“Located conveniently close to the train station. Modern looking place. Friendly guys who wish to help you make a choice. Decent tap list when I visited, including a Spanish DIPA. Because the tap beers were familiar to me, I turned to their bottle selection. Unfortunately, there was no bottle menu available and I had to download an app to get a peak in their cellar. I must say the bottle list left me a bit disappointed, the most interesting I could find being a limited Hof den Dormaal BA. Some of my other choices were not available either, a bit frustrating. Prices are decent though. I most likely won’t revisit, the bottle selection is just too much of a chore to navigate.“

“So we are not only adding super markets (even if it’s a special one -organic, biological products-, but we are adding every chain’s shop in the city apparently. Poor selection, the same 10 beers from De Leckere, Jessenhofke, a coupe german gluten free, and Budels. HIgh prices as with everything in the shop. Standard service. Doesn’t even worth to go in if good beer and selection is what you’’re looking for.“
