“Parking off Detroit Road the parking lot was pretty full for a Monday. Reminds me of dive bar serving Avon Brewing beer. Big patio, one bartender. 9 Avon beers on tap. No souvenirs. Food here. Set up like a local bar and I really like. Cheers!“

“Visited January 2022. Surprisingly, Avon is a bit of a beer desert. The town has no brewpub, no craft-beer-centric bar, and 2 little liquor stores. This is the one I walked into b/c it was across the street from my hotel. For the size and town, it is a decent store. Nothing will blow you away, I am sure a waste for any CO resident. But for East coasters like me, enough good beer to be satisfied. I didn't buy anything but if I had more time and wanted more beer, I would have. They had 3 RR 500ml capped bottles (nothing cork and cage). They had some special BA Impy Stouts that were waxed. They had the usual crafts in sixers. Cramped store“

“Avon Brewing Company bought this dive bar and is marketing it heavily. It is a wing joint with bud light and coors light on tap. They do have six Avon beers on tap and more of their and other ohio craft and national macros in cans. Full bar. If you are in Avon, go to the original location. Nothing to see here.“

“Used the online order/pickup onsite system. Worked great. They let us know our order was ready and we went curbside and got it. Nice selection when we went of cans. Will be back to check out the inside after COVID.“

“In Avon Ohio this is a pretty big building that seats 71 people inside. Patio outside can hold more. More than a dozen of their own beers on tap and had quite a few guest beers in a can. Lighting by garage doors and soft lighting. Service was good and prompt. Plenty of parking in the parking lot. Some TVs there for sports and they had lottery there for the keno players. Good experience here. Cheers!“

“This place is pretty nice. Lighting is nice with hanging light and some big windows. Two bartenders who were pretty attentive. Seems like 23 taps with a couple of those guest taps. 42 guest beers in cans also. Service was nice. Very nice place and highly recommended. I did park in front of the brewery and seems there is parking everywhere.“

“Very popular place, in an accessible location off 390, south of the city. Have to form a single line for beer, that is nice actually. And crowlers only available 2 days a week, investigate ahead if that is your jam. This place was crawling with hipsters drinking pastry stouts. They had food, we did not try anything.“

“Garage door open, line goes for the crowlers. Seats for 50-60 maybe. 12 taps I think, tasters available. Fun atmosphere, nice people, interesting and unique lineup of beers.“

“Rural small town, closer to highway than going up to Rochester itself as one advantage. Friendly people, sizeable space though all kinds of characters have to be tolerated. Only one person useable bathroom. Most beers are altered by juice or puree, they were OK on balance.“

“Stopped in on a Saturday afternoon in February and it was pretty full. We got last table. We got service fast and had a decent flight. They had toboggans outside and we tried one down hill.“

“We got there 5 minutes after they opened on a Saturday and the place was 90% full. It's good they have a line at the entrance to order your beer and then sit. About 12 of their great beers on tap. I had 7 of them. Nice place. Needs to expand sitting area. Great beer!“

Food Lion - Avon (Grocery Store)
41934 NC HWY 12
“For beer geeks, the best thing about this run of the mill grocery store is their build-your-own six pack singles. For under 10 bucks you can assemble six North Carolina beers for sampling at home. The selection, however, is nothing special, and certainly does not come close to that of nearby Connor's Supermarket in Buxton.“

“big place - several rooms indoors as well as outside seating; pretty decent cariety of beer. They had food, although we only had an order of hot wings - they were decent, but not something I’d come back for. Service was very good. Overall the beer was good and we enjoyed the visit.“

“I was hoping for a bigger selection, and a better representation of locals, but I did bring home some truly great beers nevertheless. Prices were OK but surprisingly similar to what I pay in Orlando, but in an area where the cost of living is much lower.“

“This is a new brewery with a taproom. When i was there they had four of their own beers on tap and six other Ohio beers on tap. No food but they do have food trucks. The place had an industrial feel with some railroad stuff sprinkled in the decor. Shuffleboard, pop a shot and pop corn are available. Only one bar tender on a Saturday afternoon so service was a bit slow.“

“This is a new place in Avon. 24 taps with five of their own beerst along with a nice selections of other local, Ohio, and craft beers. They had some nice bottles in the cooler, but no menu so you had to look. The food looked great but I did not eat. Prices were at the upper end of brewpub expectations. I will be back. Their beers were mostly on the hoppy spectrum and were all solid, but for an odd take on ipa.“

“The beer selection here is fairly pedestrian. I don’t think they offer much that you wouldn’t find at any other half decent liquor store. The one possible exception to that is a small range of Connecticut beers. Great range of wine and spirits. Friendly and helpful staff. Probably only worth a visit if you’re driving by.“

“An OK place for beers. Lots of the ’classic’ American craft beers on offer, stuff like Stone, Dogfish Head, etc. They also have some Connecticut brews, which interested me more, in addition to a smattering of imports. Friendly staff, fine prices. Worth a stop if you’re passing through Avon but not worth going out of your way to visit.“

“Not the best beer list in Avon NC, but this place seems to be always busy year around. Only four craft beers, all leaning toward the light and insipid end of the spectrum. Food is okay. Go for the nightly specials which are a bargain, as are PBRs for a buck fifty.“

“A welcome addition to the Hatteras Island beer scene, this place opened in August 2014 and has the best draft list on the island. The 21 beers on tap include both local North Carolina as well as micros from other parts of the country. According to the bartender the taps will rotate and they will be open year round. I hope this true. The ambiance is beach bar with a mix of locals and tourists. Open mike nights bring out the budding local musicians. Not much in the way of food, but a friendly and obliging staff makes this an inviting place.“

“Opening only a week ago, this place is a welcome addition to the rather abysmal beer scene on Hatteras Island. The draft list are all North Carolina brewed (all but one - Dales - are home grown NC breweries). Although there was nothing too exciting on the draft menu, they were all solid selections, oriented toward the lighter end of the taste spectrum. I was told they will be rotating taps from time to time. The bottle/can menu was pretty dismal, being oriented to the mass market pale lager clientele. Food was quite good all served with enthusiasm. Worth a visit if you are in the neighborhood.“

One Stop Beverage (Beer Store)
37565 COLORADO AVE
“This place is a drive thru. If you don’t know what that is you will figure it out when you get there. Had a wide selection of 6 packs and also had a cooler with bombers. It is kind of hard to find things from the window of your car but you can park out front and walk in if you want to look around a bit more. I think items that sell out fast at known craft beer places may linger here a bit more because most people that use drive thru’s are not looking for craft. Prices seemed to be about $1 more than other places, but there is a convienence factor if you know what you want. Overall, a hidden gem in Avon right of I-90.“

“The Chimay triple is the big draw here. The other 8 beers on draft are pretty ho hum. The bottle list is short and includes such classics as Corona and Bud Light Lime but also some good micro brews from dogfish head, bells etc. not exceptional but pretty good for a beach bar in the middle of nowhere.“

“Just a touch below the other Heinens in the area, the one in Brecksville is a touch nicer.. this one has the same selection or close to it, an upscale grocery store with large beer and wine selection.. you’ll find Hoppin Frog, Buckeye Goose Island Founders here, even a Stone 16th anniv if you’re looking for 1 time beer, not bad and always good to check out if you’re in the area.“

“I stopped in this place because it was in the database, but I’m not sure why it’s there. They do have some craft beer on tap and some in bottles, but there isn’t anything all that worthwhile. The beer list consisted mainly of a few drinkable NC brews and some mainstream mass marketed pseudo crafts (Blue Moon, etc.). The food was good but rather overpriced for the area. The restaurant was very loud and the service while very friendly was rather slow. Overall, there are better places to eat in the Outer Banks for the price (Rusty’s and the Inn at Pamlico Sound come to mind) and you are better off stocking up on beer at Chip’s on the way in if you want craft brew.“

“This is a very nice grocery store with a very nice beer selection. They have a growler fill station with four taps, and they will give you a shot to sample for 25 cents. They always have lots of seasonals on the end caps and a solid line up of the usual suspects. They have great fresh fish department, some prepared foods, and lots of wines and cheeses. I always walk out of the store with more beer than I planned to buy.“

“Great afternoon dining bar in Avon. The setting is very nice at the base of Talcott Mountain, seating area is very comfortable. Selection is fine for this area, youre not going to find anything unusual, but you will find something to enjoy. Food is very good pub grub.“

“Nice little store with a decent beer selection, which I’m guessing will improve as Avon is a ski town and it’s not quite ski season yet, has a really big wine cellar. Also connected is a t-shirt shop, gotta have a Beaver Liquors t-shirt. Nice selection of pick your own six pack. Nice place to stop by if you’re in town.“

“Not a terrible selection, but not great either. wall of coolers and a strange wall stand that has beers set in it like wine bottles, but you have to walk around it to see whats there. not worth it when liquor depot is literally 1/2 mile down the road.“

“A smaller selection than i thought for a big store, and kind of haphazard. straight ahead when you walk in are coolers of mostly macros, some micro selection, then to the left when you walk in are micros on a few shelves. again, a little too haphazard for me, not a great selection, especially when liquor depot is literally two minutes away.“

“Nice little place in a strip mall with a bunch of restuarants. Somewhat small selection that is completely unorganized. You are likely to see the same 6 pack in a few different places in the cooler just to make it look full. A nice selection of singles, which is appreciated. The staff is as helpful as they can be, they just don’t seem to know a whole lot about beer. Its close to home so I swing in when I need to pick up something quick, but their is nothing you cannot find at the better places around the west side.“

The Wine Room (Beer Store)
35840 CHESTER ROAD
“This was a bit of a haul for me, but worth it. Located in a newly built strip mall with some interesting looking restaurants within walking distance. The inside of the store is well decorated and inviting. They have a large wine selection, and three coolers and a small shelf devoted to beers. A good mix of imports and domestics. Some items that are hard to find in Cleveland. The shelf next to the coolers has single bottles that can be made into six-packs. Building your own six-pack gives a 10% discount, as well. The woman working behind the counter was very helpful and even helped me carry all my beers out to my car. Great store!“
