“Been here a few times over the years. Tourist spot in a tourist town. Not much character to speak of. There's a tiny tap room at street level and the main brewpub upstairs. They have the same beers. There's a small balcony - a railing with stools, really - upstairs that offers some solid views. Beers are conservative, I guess you'd say. Flights are expensive...though it can and does get worse at the other brewpub in town.“

“Stopped in with my family for lunch. Kid friendly until 10pm. A little hard to find with little to no parking. Located on the second floor of a strip mall and have to park aways down the street as there’s no parking lot. Have flights of 6. Beer was ok to good. Food was good. Service was a little slow, but staff was friendly and knowledgeable. A little pricey, but that’s to be expected in a touristy area. Worth a stop. Best beer place in Banff.“

“Rather small but of good quality beer choice. Most of them in singles. Offered help. When in town you can scoop few new ratings here but that is all.“

“This was a must stop as we were in Banff for a couple of days on our Canadian Vacation in October after the crowds have gone. A bit dark inside but we arrived at the beginning of happy hour so we scored a window table overlooking the street. This place is on the second floor above a shopping mall. Food was OK. Beer the same. They DID serve flights though they were a bit overpriced. The best beer was a pilsner and I tried them all. If you are in Banff and a beer ticker like me this place is worth a visit. Otherwise it would never be missed.“

“Had dinner here. The place was definitely hopping on a Thursday night, so we ended up eating at the bar rather than enduring a 30 minute wait. The pizza was well above average, and the service was friendly. Limited tap options, but a solid number of (mostly) Alberta bottle and can options. Less touristy than many other Banff establishments.“

“Had lunch here. The ambiance is hard to beat with a great view of the mountains and a nice semi-rustic interior. Food was well above average, and the draft selection is the best (in terms of quality and numerically) that we encountered during our time in Banff. It's a but pricy, but in line with every other place in town.“

“The only choice in Banff for craft beer. Their IPA is decent enough. .Come on Thursday and have a stein (about 1 litre) for 8 CAD. The rest of their beers better be forgotten.“

“Centrally located pub with a half dozen or so own-brewed beers and one guest tap. The guest tap was for a nano brewer in Calgary (Dandy) when I visited. Beers are decent as is the atomosphere. No flights but the bartender was very generous in offering free tastes. An enjoyable place to spend a few hours while in Banff.“

“Not a bad place for beer hunting in Banff if you want to take a few bottles away. Refridgerated beer locker at the back with macros and a few dozen intriguing craft brews from around the world, okay prices, open late. That’s about it.“

“A pretty good brewpub with some good gems on tap. Not all, but many, and the quality is pretty good overall. Knowledgeable staff, lots of hockey on the televisions. Seems to rotate out a lot of different styles, would be good to go back on a regular basis if you’re in the neighbourhood often.“

“Bar at ground level. Keiron, the bartender was very good. Glasses were stored in the freezer. These were too cold for us Brits. They were happy to serve us in glasses at room temperature. Nice friendly atmosphere. Some beers only available here e.g. Rhino & Saskactoon.“

“This place had only been open 3 weeks when we visited on 18/06/15.The distillery at the back was due to start production in a couple of days time. The excellent staff had been transferred from other local pubs. Bree the General Manager sat with us at the bar after her shift. She is responsible for choosing the rotating draft beers. Josh, the Scottish bartender was informative too. As was the female bartender. (sorry didn’t get her name). A good selection of beer on draft complemented by a range of cans.“

“Restaurant was cosy but very busy as well. The bar was beautiful, and so was their downstair lounge. Warm interior, which was really nice with the drizzling weather. However their information in a local recommendation flyer said their speciality is pasta, the waiter told us that they were specialized in steaks and meat. And was he right! The steak was perfect! Nice hot cajun spiced, the baking was perfect. Service was quick, but again too pushy for me. The waiter kept on suggesting for wine when there was still a pint of beer on our table. But I already noticed then that this pushyness is the culture. I love the fact that water is for free here. Good thing about the culture ;) . Prices were very good on first sight, but then come the taxes en tips and stuff. We’re just not used to that. Yet the prices were still ok, certainly worth it.“

“The inside was dreadfully dark, but thankfully we were there on a warm summer evening and could sit outside. The balcony is skinny and long, almost like a juliet balcony but you can actually sit there and look out onto the street and pretty mountains in the background. Lots of locals here in the evening. Beer selection (8 diff beers) not too exciting but good enough. Of course you will come here if you are in Banff...“

“Nice little brewpub on the Main Street in Banff, with a small deck overlooking the street and mountains. Beer quality was crap to average, with one good one (the pilsner). Kind of expensive for the flight ($14 for 6 x 6 oz. pours). Service was friendly enough. Overall, a fun stop for a few obscure ticks of mostly weak quality beer.“

“Nice local brewery to get craft beer if you’re in Banff. Food menu is great and the service is awesome! They have a good selection of beers albeit it a bit on the less adventerous side for craft beer drinkers however they are still decent beers. Always willing to give brewery tours too!“

“A cozy atmosphere with the regular pub food and offerings. Bit pricey but cheap for a touristy area. What shines is thier beer. Although nothing special, for an Albertan brewery it produces solid beers, especially thier IPA. Go if you are in the area or need a reason to stop on the highway.“

“This is the most middle of the road place I’ve ever been to. Average beers, average food, average service. Simply no good points and perhaps the only bad point (?) was they dressed up a brass status of a native Canadian in Christmas lights, which screamed tackiness. Clearly if you are in Banff, go here to get some ticks and maybe eat food and you will be happy, but don’t expect anything special about any aspect of this place.“

“We ate at the Bear Street Tavern on a recommendation from a friend. As well as the rather tasty bison pizza I was pleased to see an above average selection of beer. They have 10 on tap and about 25 bottles. The selection covers both Canadian and American breweries: Rogue, Tree, Mill Street, Grizzly paw etc. Worth coming for the food and enjoying a decent beer alongside.“

“Medium-size liquor store located on Wolf Street. As well as the usual monotonous mass-produced lagers this place actually has its fair share of interesting beers. At the back right there are a couple of coolers and shelves dedicated to microbreweries. They had stuff like Flying Monkeys, Yukon etc, as well as international beers from Brewdog, Chimay and the like.... Also at the front of the store there are a few ice ciders. Easily the best place to get take-away beers in Banff. Worth a stop if you are visiting.“

“Stopped in for a pint or two with the girlfriend. Patio is really nice and looks down on the main street, which is a really nice view. Beers are solid, if rather expensive. A decent enough place, I can’t really complain, but neither can I overwhelmingly recommend it.“

“Ate and drank here a couple of times on my trip. Relaxed ambiance, good food, and above average brewpub beer. Id want to see more (if any) seasonal or one-off beers if I were a local, but what they had was fairly good. Definitely worth stopping by if youre in the area.“

“A nice relaxed environment. Located on the 2nd floor on Banff ave, accessible through the mini mall. Decor is a nice mix of rustic wood and clean black modernism. Brewpub is visible through a large window at the back of the place. Very clean. Nice ambiance. Interesting musical playlist featuring a lot of good indie rock. Staff is friendly, they know quite a bit about the product they are serving. 9 taps on when I visited, 7 regualr taps, plus two taps reserved for seasonals, both of which were fruit-wheat beers. Styles offered are failrly mainstream, nothing too out there and abv remains low on all brews. decent drinkable selections are offered, nothing too surprising, well made and without flaws. Styles included stout, pils, cream ale, IPA, schwarzbier and a few others. Some selections are on nitro. Sampler trays available, 6 x 4oz glasses. Beer is also available in 12oz, 18oz and 32oz glasses. Growler fills are availble (64oz) and they are now bottling and selling bombers, not sure what beers are available bottled, check with the staff. Glassware and tshirts are available. If you like beer, this is the place you will end up at in Banff.“

“Brew pub has beers a little better than those in neighbouring Canmore. Most of the styles they have are a touch better but it’s a little more expensive, being in Banff. Outdoor balcony is great for sipping brew, if a little tight. Nice view overlooking the town and surrounding mountains.“

“Still very new. Bright with lots of seating and a small single row patio that overlooks Banff Avenue and offers a nice veiw of the mountains. 12 taps but in two visits only 4 or 5 beers available. Not intersted in guest taps to fill the void or to foster a culture. Beers are middle of the road to start but I look forward to visiting off-season when they have a chance to play. They take a lot of pride in their food and it is very good presentation. Boneless wings and lobster roll were tasty.“

“They were out of IPA the first couple of times I went in. Finally stopped by and they had it on tap. Terribly disappointing. A fairly bland beer with the hop flavor of a weak pale ale. But what is worse is that they charge visitors more for beer than locals. I resent being charged $1=1.50 more for a pint than a local. I left no tip for the bartender and will not return. Tried a couple of their other beers on my first visits, but none were distinguished.“
