“Visited 10/11/2023 with Andy. Final stop on the two town tour before catching train home. It's about a 12 minute walk from the station. Nice pub, decent service. Quite busy with a mixed Friday evening crowd. 2 ales on offer on this visit, the Green Jack Gone Fishing was in particularly good shape. Decent visit.“

64 /100 51 LONDON ROAD
“Visited 10/11/2023 with Andy. Around a 20 or so minute walk from the station heading out of town on the Ipswich road. Had 6 local ales on offer on this visit. Nothing spectacular but all solid. Comfortable enough inside, though somehow it seemed smaller inside than it looked from the outside. Quite busy early on a Friday evening which was good to see. Friendly enough service. Worth a visit if in town.“

50 /100 4-6 NEW MARKET
“Large pub facing into the small square in the town centre, which is all road and parking with no other municipal benefits. The building itself extends back with a pedestrian street at its side, and with the largish terrace at its rear the premises basically extend all the way to the main road a block over. The bar is in the middle of the building with a couple of real ale pumps sporting national options on my visit. Being post-Covid it might have a better selection in the future. Outdoor seating also exists on the pedestrian street.“

60 /100 4-6 NEW MARKET
“A nice old hotel in the market place carefully put to good use by wetherspoons in the way that they have so many buildings in the uk which might otherwise have gone to ruin. This one is pretty typical of many a 'spoons offerings. 12 real ales, though not a particularly excitingrange, plus other taps and bottles which were also similarly uninspiring. But keen prices on food and drink as always. Do it does a job!“
