“Classic corner pub with Sunday Roast beef. Otherwise typical cask/drafts without much craft. Tho some Miller and Coors on the menu.“

“Visited mid-afternoon on 26th October 2021. The pub’s tenancy is now with Punch Taverns following Young’s sale of its tenanted estate. Well-appointed interior is pretty much unchanged since Youngs acquired it in 1997. The pub remains friendly, and welcoming to all. My friend and I were recognised and greeted cordially despite having last visited in 2020. Of the 4 hand pumps three in use - one Youngs beer remained, whilst the second was a ‘house’ beer named after the pub and the third was from Brighton’s Laine brewery. Barman mentioned the beers now change periodically. A wonderfully tranquil retreat, which is worth a visit.“

“Lovely traditional pub, even down to the nice little snug, and really convenient for Victoria bus and train stations. A touch crampt, but that's an indication of its popularity. Real ale selection wasn't so great, GK's gotta GK, but they had a Lilley's Cider promotion when I was there, so lots of sweet juice to be found. Staff were efficient, and surprisingly multilingual. Not knowing what else is in the area, I'd not hesitate to pop back in here were I travelling through Victoria.“

“A village pub completely hidden in the most exclusive neighbourhood in London. Stepping in on a quiet sunny mid-week afternoon with just a couple of regulars at the bar transports you out of Belgravia and into normality. Every square inch of this place, wall to ceiling, is covered with all kinds of war and brewing ephemera, with numerous hats and badges behind the bar, even an antique pistol above the fireplace; a nod to landlord Kevin Moran's time as a former guardsman. He's a no-nonsense chap, now well into his later years, holding court behind the bar, jolly when its quiet, singing along to old 50s numbers behind the bar, whilst turning grumpy and impatient when wide-eyed tourists bundle in iphones in hand (phone's are banned, and woe betide those who ignore it) though his long list of dry-humoured ripostes are worth the visit alone. Beer range is devoted to Adnams, even a cider made for them, though there are lagers too. Basic pub food is made in the open kitchen in the lower section, right in front of customers. I got a half which was purposely filled a cm from the top, clearly due to his annoyance at beers being spilled. Expect to pay £6 a pint. Dogs not allowed, but we sat outside in the sunshine. Any tourists looking for a good non-touristic English pub experience should try and check this out. Literally a stone's throw from Harrods.“

“Charming little pub packed with atmosphere, the walls covered in knick knacks and the bar below the entrance floor level. Selection was all Adnams and only a few at that. Prices were steep it seemed and they preferred cash. Nice for the charm but not great for beer geekery.“

“I attempted to survive a day (before a concert in Cadogan Hall) as a "Sloane Ranger" (or does that expression apply only to women?), but I am afraid that both my age and attire disqualified me mercilessly. Anyway, The Antelope was the only decent pub I could find near Sloane Square, and it was definitely less Sloanie in character (at least in the quiet afternoon) than the restaurant I unashamedly dined in at Sloane Square afterwards. The kitchen at The Antelope was closed, as I visited after normal lunch hours. I started out with a gin & tonic. No new beers for me, but I had the Fuller's Red Fox (a bit soapy in the finish) and the ESB (which was fine). I asked if they had bottles of Golden Pride or Bengal Lancer, but to no avail. The bartenders were friendly enough though.“

“Cosy nice little pub hidden within the mews and crescents of Belgravia, really worth looking for it. The selection is mostly Adnams, which is fine but easy to find anywhere else; the main thing is that you’ll be amongst one of the oldest pubs in London, with a lovely eccentric and barroque atmosphere, surrounded by superb locals and assisted by the nicest bartenders, all in what looks rather like a village than any borrough in London (right across Harrods.) Check it out; some people here have said it’s not a destination spot, but I truly disagree: went there on purpose and would definitely do it again.“

“Visited many times over the years. Another handsome unspoilt back street Belgravia pub with an upmarket feel. It’s at the Sloane Square end of Belgravia so a little way from the other Belgravia pubs listed here but it’s easy and worthwhile (as long as you’re not looking for esoteric ticks) to combine them in a small crawl. If you’re new to London you’ll get a much better feel for what pubs used to be like than by sticking to the toristy places on the main drags. Just avoid the 5 o’clock rush if you want to sidestep the after work crowds. Nowadays this is a Fuller’s pub with the usual suspects on cask plus a couple of guests. Worth a visit.“

“Visited many times over the years. Another classic, unspoilt back street Belgravia pub with an upmarket feel that you probably wouldn’t find unless you knew where to look. It has a venerable pewter topped bar and the walls are clad with dark wood matchboarding. It’s very small and vertical drinking is the norm, often with customers spilling out into the street. The fact that quite a large part of the limited space is devoted to serving food detracts a little. There’s a bright red sentry box outside. A sense of calm pervades, even when it’s busy, and it seems a million miles away from the traffic-choked Knightsbridge and Hyde Park Corner that are, in reality, just a stone’s throw away as the crow flies. There are four cask beers with Woodforde’s Wherry being permanet and the other three changing, but don’t expect anything too exciting. But you don’t really come here for the beer.“

“Visited many times over the years. Another back street Belgravia pub that you probably wouldn’t find unless you knew where to look. The vibe could best be described as endearingly eccentric. It has the strange feature of the floor level behind the bar being lower than on the public side in part of the pub. To compensate for this the bar, and the bar stools in front of it are strangely low. Although the beers are invariably from Adnams, this is NOT an Adnams pub. It’s run and has been for as long as I can remember by an ex actor and Irish guardsman called Kevin Moran who just likes Adnams beers and sees no reason to look elsewhere. When I was a semi-regular here the actor Nigel Davenport (now sadly departed) was always in here, and I mean always. I got to know him slightly and always had a chat. I recall spoofing with him for the next round of drinks on several occasions. Good times.“

“Visited many times over the years. A classic Fuller’s pub hidden away in a mews. The beers are the Fuller’s staples and, maybe a guest. The beers have always been in good shape and it’s been an ever present in the Good Beer Guide. It has a very local feel albeit, as others have said, with rather well heeled clientele. It doesn’t get much passing trade and is not tourist oriented because you have to know here it is to find it. If you’re new to London and want to try the Fuller’s beers in good nick in a pleasant environment you could do a lot worse than this. It would seem I’ve not been here much in recent times as I’ve only once noticed the roped off area and I just assumed it was for a private party rather than a permanent fixture.“

“Haven’t been here for years but as it has no reviews thought I’d add one. Food destination. Decent pizza. A bit to fancy for my tastes. Can’t for the life of me remember what the beers were. But I’d been recommended it as a place to bring a girl so other things were on my mind.“

“The Grenadier is a classic Belgarvia pub. It is located near Knightsbridge tucked away in a residential area. Inside is pretty tiny, with a dining room at the back and always seems rather busy when I visit. Nowadays this is a Taylor-Walkers pub, which don’t in general have the most exciting beer selection… although it has been improving over the last few years. On my last visit they had a few fairly pedestrian cask ale offerings, but also a decent keg or two. I ended up drinking Portobello Pils. Typical expensive Belgravia prices and brusque service. Fun to visit occasionally in an area with limited pub choices, but it is too small and busy to frequent.“

“The Star Tavern is a classic residential pub in Belgravia. As Jack mentions it is infamous for its tie to the Great Train robbery. Nowadays it is a Fuller’s tied pub that has a strong local feel to it. Bear in mind that locals here are of the posh variety! I frequented this place over a 5 year period due to working nearby, so have learned to tolerate them! It does have some rather peculiar aspects to it though - such as the roped-off area for “proper” locals... Selection of 4/5 cask ales which are usually Fuller’s plus one guest. They tend to have some interesting Fullers bottles and I remember (well sort of) a works night in which we drank Fullers Vintage ale all evening…. A fun spot.“

“I used to frequent the Antelope when I worked at Sloane Square. The pub is tucked away down a residential street just off the main square itself, so doesn’t tend to draw a big tourist crowd. It is pretty looking local pub which dates back to the 17th century. Inside is a U-shaped bar with a snug on the left hand side as you enter. The range is 5 cask ales (4 fullers and 1 guest), a few kegs and some bottles. Food is pretty nice and they offer some good pub snacks (e.g. sausage on a stick). Don’t expect a big range of new beers, but this is a fun pub to visit.“

“Nice little backstreet boozer. Friendly barmaid, salt of the earth Brit. Small range of Adnams on tap. Lots of fun ephemera decorating the walls and ceilings - hats, badges, airplanes, photos...it’s eclectic. This isn’t a destination beer bar, but it is a good option for a few pints in this barren part of London (where beer is concerned).“

“Set back away from any major street, this is not a place you would stumble upon. The beer selection is nothing special, although the Fullers London Pride I had during my visit was in good condition. In terms of ambiance, it’s got a pretty nice back-street vibe about it. Friendly service, average prices. To be honest, Belgravia has very few decent pubs, so if you’re looking for a place to grab a drink in this neighbourhood then the Grenadier isn’t a bad option.“

“Realized I’d yet to have a good ol’ Adnams pint as I was nearing the end of my week in London, so my girlfriend and I walked up here on what I recall being a Monday evening. What an awesome place. Really beautiful-tasting Broadside and Ghostship in an incredible atmosphere; tons of wood and early 20th century British pub paraphenelia and pictures. Ceilings about 6’4", so I was slightly ducking which made it that much better. Groups of guys that had obviously been there since they got off work, crushing pints. The kind of place that this rating system doesn’t do justice. Go here if you’re in the area, the ambiance is worth it alone, and Adnams certainly doesn’t suck.“

“Came here for a work event and was very grateful that they had a solid cask offering - Redemption Pale Ale - in addition to some bottled craft beers, most notably The Kernel. They had a second handpump but I didn’t catch what was pouring from it. This is a fairly upscale place - the ambiance is sleek and pleasant, the service top notch. The prices are somewhat premium in nature. Not much here for a beer geek but it could work if you are in a pinch.“

“Have been a semi regular visitor to the Star over the years, most recently back in the summer. One of two London pubs that have been ever present in the Good Beer Guide (along with the Buckingham Arms). Fullers tied house normally with 4 of their beers on, usually Pride and Chiswick, plus ESB or Discovery more often than not, and perhaps a seasonal . Have had food here once in the form of an after work corporate type buffet which was decent, but never ordered food myself. Nice Mews setting and this pub is convenient for me in terms of being walkable from my office and on my route home. It ticks all the boxes of a decent pub. If I was in London for a short stay over I wouldn’t recommend going out of the way for it unless you are a big Fullers fan perhaps? If it’s diversity of choice and/or hard to get beers there are plenty of better options around London. “

“The Star Tavern’s a small Fullers-tied pub located on a quiet mews in Belgravia. This pub’s claim to fame is that it is the location where the Great Train Robbery of 1963 was planned. Now, it’s a pretty sedate pub filled with well-to-do bankers and posh locals. The tap lineup is probably slightly worse than your average Fullers pub. You’ll usually find 4 Fullers beers on cask, plus a few more options on keg. They don’t always carry seasonal offerings on tap here. The bottle list sometimes offers the occasional Fullers gem (Vintage Ales, Past Masters Series editions etc.), so taking a look at their bottle fridges is certainly advised. The food looks decent. The one major problem I have with this pub is that they have a segregated bar. Half of the horseshoe-shaped bar is literally roped off so that select customers can have their own space. It’s an obviously annoying feature, especially when the pub is busy. For that reason, I don’t come here too often. Still, there’s worse options in the area.“

“The Nag’s Head is a gem of a pub located in the beer wasteland that is Knightsbridge/Belgravia. The attraction of this place isn’t the beer, it’s the phenomenal atmosphere. There’s 5 beers on tap (3 Adnams beers on cask plus a macro lager and a cider). Adnams isn’t a cutting-edge brewery, but they do know how to make a good traditional ale. The beer’s well-kept. The pub’s resplendently decorated with knick-knacks and memorabilia from the 1920s-1940s. Everywhere you look you’ll find old soldier’s uniforms, model Spitfire planes, antiques etc. The pub only plays jazz from the interwar period. Cell phones are strictly not allowed. The landlord is an elderly Irish gent who runs the place with a strong but fair hand. While I haven’t eaten here, the food looks fine. Overall, if you’re in the area, this is a great place to have a pint and savour the atmosphere.“
