“Pleasant pub with a pretty average beer selection.“

“A nice enough gastropub on Fulham Road quite close to Chelsea and Westminster Hospital. It’s light and airy, with a skylight in the back section, and there’s some impressive Victorian tiling on the wall opposite the bar. The beer range is less impressive, with just four hand pumps and not much of interest when I visited. (Visited 18 June 2013).“

“Modern "Chelsea-type" public house. I have been in plenty of times, but that’s mostly because I work nearby. They have 3 cask ales on which thankfully usually includes some Harviestoun. The Atlantic I had last time was rather quaffable. They have a dining room at the back and the food is rather good. An added bonus are the pool tables upstairs, which is a rarity in Chelsea. Not bad.“

“The Cadogan’s a very posh pub located on Kings Road. The ambiance is fine, like many other slightly upscale pubs in West London. The tap list isn’t all that interesting - 3 beers on cask plus another 6 or so macro choices on keg. The cask options included a rebadged beer from Twickenham as well as stuff from Caledonian and Adnams. The bottle list actually offers some decent stuff - Oakham Citra, a stout from Pin Up, and beers from Bristol Beer Factory were available. Be sure to check bottling dates, a bottle of Citra I ordered was well past its best before date. Luckily, the staff are well trained, and they were happy to change it. Overall, this isn’t a place I would journey to, but there’s worse choices along the Kings Road.“

“The Sporting Page is a very posh pub on a quiet street off Fulham Road. There’s up to 6 cask beers plus your usual assortment of ’premie’ macros on keg. On my visit, the cask stuff wasn’t interesting, so I resorted to drinking bottles of Punk IPA. Clearly this isn’t too much of a beer destination. With that said, the ambiance is pleasant, well-heeled but not overly pretentious. The service is very good, professional. The pub’s quite popular with Chelsea fans before/after matches. Overall, this is probably my fifth-choice watering hole before I see Chelsea play. Take from that what you will.“

“A very attractive pub in a very attractive neighbouhood in Chelsea. The beer selection is minimal, but I still managed to find something new to me. Prices are average, bar staff is capable. Good vibes here. Very good-looking food menu here. It’s a nice place to have as a local, I suppose, but not a place for scoops.“

“Located halfway down Kings Road in Chelsea, about 10 minutes walk from Sloane Square. The ambience is very typical for Chelsea - modern and semi-pretentious. The beer selection is however much better than other pubs in the area - up to 5 cask ales, usually including Doom bar and Ubu, as well as a couple of guests. Keg options include BrewDog, Sierra Nevada, Odell, Camden, Vedett etc. They also have a bottle list of about 20 beers with some decent beers including some from flying dog. It’s been a while since I’ve eaten here but the food was good, if a tad pricy (like everything in Chelsea). This place is worthy a stop in an area that’s pretty poor for beer.“

“A nice cosy place billed as a gastropub with beer. The Sporting Page has five hand pumps, one of which was off when I visited, but there were three interesting beers - Sharps Winter Ruby (on two taps), Otley O-Garden and Loddon Hoppit. Despite the billing as a gastro pub, there was no sign of anyone eating when I was there early one weekday evening to celebrate a colleague’s birthday. The menu looked good, if a little pricey (for example, Aberdeen Angus burger for £10), but this is Chelsea. The pub’s on a street corner in a well-heeled residential area behind Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, perhaps half way between Fulham Road and the Kings Road. (Last visited 13 June 2012).“

“Owned by Geronimo Inns, who own a group of more upscale pubs in London. This is located right on Fulham Road, and has recently been refurbished. The best part of the pub is the beautiful ceramic tile wall opposite the bar. It’s been very nicely restored, and reminds me a bit of The Princess Louise. There’s also a hilariously awful painted mural behind the bar. The rest of the interior’s nice but a bit soulless. There’s a decent amount of seating. The beer selection is OK, nothing great. There’s always three ales on cask available, plus some beers on Keg. The selection is mostly ’classy’ macros like Doombar and Becks, but there’s occasionally been some decent cask options. The food is very good, and certainly recommended. Overall, I’d say this is a decent option if you’re looking for a quick drink or bite to eat along Fulham Road. It’s also convenient if you’re going to see Chelsea play, and don’t feel like dealing with the crowds at the White Horse.“
