“Beer selection is amazing for a tiny campus pub. Setup is outstanding, nice big area in the middle with the bar, pool table in one room, fireplace in another, large upstairs section as well. Home to trivia on Tuesday nights. Value is exceptional. And like Cheers, everybody knows your name. The Little Pub is one of the best parts of a great school, always worth stopping in on Alumni Weekend.“

“I haven’t heard of other colleges that have a place like this. Directly on campus, the Little Pub is a beautiful, two-level building with a small bar, several seating rooms, a pool table and all kinds of Hamilton College and Adirondack ephemera decorating the walls. As others have noted, the beer selection is exceptional, in particular when you consider the bar is located in Clinton, NY. In addition, the prices are ridiculously cheap. (I’ve heard the College subsidizes the pub but I haven’t had this confirmed.) Pints of Utica Club for under $3 per pint, top range beers $5 per pint. The pub also hosts musical acts throughout the year. I wish I had taken advantage of this place more when I was a student at Hamilton, but now whenever I go back to visit I make a point of stopping in. (Fun fact: the ’Little’ in the name refers to the Little family, major benefactors of the college, and not to the size of the pub.)“

“The "VT" Hamilton grad here, and I’m from Clinton, but not much good to say about the VT. The bar setup is certainly interesting (circular, in middle of room) but selection is nothing to speak of and atmosphere isn’t great.“

“On the campus of Hamilton College, a small liberal arts NESCAC school. Absolutely the best on-campus, school subsidized bar I’ve ever seen or heard of. 14 taps, with fixtures such as pints of Dogfish Head 60 or 90 for 5 bucks, Ommegang Hennepin and Dale’s Pale Ale for 4 bucks, and things that have rotated in such as Nugget Nectar and Brooklyn BCS. Don’t know why you’d be in the middle of nowhere central NY unless you go to school there like I do, but this place is great.“

“College bar. Literally. Bar at and run by the college. Usually a good amount of interesting things on tap; currently: Hennepin, brooklym black chocolate stout, dale’s pale ale, saranac black forest, troegs dead reckoning, AND EVEN MORE! A fun place, nice atmosphere, good beer.“

“Really cool bar set up - circular with the bartenders in the middle. A decent-sized room next to it for bands or darts. Usually packed with college kids on the weekends or when a band’s playing. Selection is pretty poor, Bud to Sam Adams is pretty much the spectrum. They used to have a pretty solid burrito joint in the back room as well. Value is great, especially on dollar draft Tuesday nights. As a Hamilton grad, I’ll always have a soft spot for the VT (and the jitney rides back)“

“One of only a few bars located in Clinton, NY, the home of Hamilton College. The Village Tavern, or VT, is usually inhabited by college kids, especially on the weekends or when bands play. The prices are great at the VT, although the selection is abysmal. The bar itself is interesting: it’s circular, so those seated at the bar surround the bartenders in the middle. The VT is a very decent bar and, as a Hamilton graduate myself, it certainly holds a special place in my heart.“
