“8 house beers plus 11 guest beers on tap. Almost packed on a Monday night. bb has an insane 117 ratings from Danville, so he must either live next door or own the brewery. 6-7 beers available in cans, so that is what I purchased for ~4/each. Hopefully awesome. Hazy IPAs.“

“Street parking in downtown Danville, Pennsylvania. Dim lighting here at Old Forge Brewing. Bartender is knowledgeable . 16 beers on tap and two cask pumps. 6 dollars for a pint. It’s like an olde English Tavern. Like he service. Can beers to go. Souvenir shirts and hats also. We really like this place. Cheers!“

Weis - Danville (Grocery Store)
140 CONTINENTAL BLVD
“I was on my way back to Pgh from Cape Cod. A couple of minutes off of interstate 80, I was staying at the Hampton and needed a sixpack. On a hunch, I checked out the local Weis. Stopped at this place and was really surprised about the amount of local beers they had here. They also had a ton of other common craft beers but my big score was getting a mixed 6 pack of local brews I never had before for just 12$, quite nice! The other thing is that their fresh hot food selection was really great! We got the roasted whole chicken for 5$ and was not disappointed. Yes, its a grocery store with all the other stuff but if you need a mixed sixer, you have to check out their mixed sixer cooler in the back of the beer display. Really nice to find this place by accident. BTW, there are two local microbreweries within walking distance as well.“

“Visited this place while at a stay over in the Danville Hampton on a Saturday afternoon. Decent little pubroom. Had a nice cooler of 4 packs for sale. I wanted a mixed 6 or 4 pack, did not have. Oh well. Not crowded, practicing covid separation. Bartender seems rather nice. Decent atmosphere for beer tasting with the locals.“

“Visited after dinner on a Sunday. Nice new spot in the town center of Danville. Street parking or in a large lot across the street. Open larger bar with restaurant space as well as a small outdoor patio. Sleek modern design. 9 house beers along with 6 California guests. Tasters available. Quick service, fun crowd hanging out.

70 = **½ (Locals should check it out, visitors with extended time)

I only use the total score, not the component parts.“

“We came here on 18.11.2018. Visited this brewpub on our way back from Williamsport. Plenty of parking available behind the pub. Interior could be improved. Limited visibility of the brewhouse. Beers were quite good. Loved the Rauchbeer and the IPA‘s were good too. We met very nice people at the bar. Service was friendly and attentive.“

“Nice place. I didn't expect the selection to be as large as it was. I believe the owner said 350 different beers, and looked like every single one of them was individually priced. Very reasonable too... Owner was very friendly. Worth a stop if you're in the area. I found some stuff I didn't see in Durham the day before and haven't seen in C-ville.“

“Showed up here for their first or second weekend in business. The place was quite full, but I was ticking solo and was able to catch a seat at the bar.

It's pretty much right in the middle of downtown Danville. Lots of parking around as well as other shops and restaurants. Easily walkable.

I ordered a flight of the five beers they had on tap. I thought everything was fine, though nothing really stood out. Didn't try the food. Seemed like upscale bar food (burgers, salads, sandwiches, fries, etc.). They also do have a full bar.

The service was quite good, actually, despite the fact it was packed on a Saturday afternoon. I actually haven't been back since that first trip, but mostly because I'm lazy and rarely have a reason to go to Danville.“

“I've been here a few times, but never actually reviewed it. Despite the name, this is not actually a car wash.

They have a sizable food menu, though it's mostly bar food kind of stuff--burgers, sandwiches, salads, etc. They have something like 30 beers on tap. Most of them are local Bay Area things (and they do get Russian River). The beer list maybe isn't going to blow your jaded ticker away, but I thought everything on the list was solid...Deschutes, Faction, Altamont, Fieldwork, etc.

Prices are reasonable. The service is good. It's got an okay vibe to it. Fun place to hang out.“

“Stopped in here while staying the night in Danville PA. We had a couple of beers and dinner. The place itself inviting. Bar on one side, tables on the other. A few outdoor seats up front. The food was pretty good and reasonably priced. The beers were alright and also very reasonably priced. I wouldn't go out of my way to stop here, but it was a nice surprise finding this in Danville PA.“

“Rock God is located just off the main drag in Danville. It’s within a couple of blocks of Old Forge with some parking in front. It’s the first brewery I’ve ever seen that was formerly a car wash/plumbing supply store. The owners are starting slowly by opening part time for now. Given the name, rock music plays into both the decor, the atmosphere, as well as the beer names. I think the beers are works in progress, but I also think it’s impossible to spend any time here and not see what a labor of love it is for them. I hope they do well and I’m rooting for them.“

“First stop of the day. This is a modern style brewpub in the downtown area of danville. Plenty of free public parking around; no worries there. Fairly large bar in front, seating/dining area around. They have about 10 of their own beers on tap, plus about the same number of local-ish guest taps. Flights available, but they appear to be a fixed set of six of their beers. I was OK with that since I had not been here before, but as a regular that would grind my gears. Service was friendly, prices were reasonable. Did not try the food. Beer quality varied quite a bit, but the good stuff was actually pretty good, which bodes well for the future.“

“On the west side bypass around Danville, this is the "only store in town" at least if you are looking for selection. Set-up is similar to other locations throughout the region - good selection on regional, nationla, and foreign beers 10 taps of local/regional, good bomber selection, good wall of about 150 singles (most are routine, but there were 6 new ones for me). The bombers included Quimera from Chile, a new country for me. Worth making a trip if you are within 25 miles.“

“Nice enough brewpub in Danville, PA. Stopped here on our way back to NJ from Penn State. The décor is nice...especially the rotating mug "carousel" over the bar...but otherwise not that special. I did like the windows looking into the brewery...although note that the main brewery is a few blocks away and not currently open to the public. The beers were decent with a couple of standouts (the Old Forge Extra Pale Ale, and the seasonal No Sox IPA). Although the menu was filled with numerous interesting offerings...we found the items we ordered to be average in quality at best. The staff was great though...especially our waitress. Prices were very good. This is a better than average locale for the area...but not as good as Selin’s Grove Brewery, or even Berwick Brewery (nearby Turkey Hill was probably better too).“

“Looks like a converted restaurant, right on the main street in a picturesque small town. Street parking, metered even on weekends. Large bar off to one side with the tap handles set back, a nice arrangement. Brewhouse off to one side behind glass. restaurant tables. A dozen or so beers, flights of four. Tasty food, lots of variety and creativity. Beers were very solid. Friendly efficient servers. A worthwhile stop.“

“Visited on a quiet Saturday afternoon in Aug-2012. We had a large party upstairs (maybe 10) and they were unfortunately overwhelmed by our beer-crazed orders so it was understandably a tad slow. 90s music rocking out, maybe 6 of their own beers on tap, and a good food menu. We tried the ale chicken quesadilla and Cuban sandwich and some hot pretzels, all quite tasty. Not a bad little place, but would like to have tried more of their own beers. The rootbeer was delicious! (4/7/10/9/8/15) 72“

“Me’s is -the- craft centric bar in the City of Danville to date. Rod and Eric are the most knowledgable about the brews in the establishment. The food is fantastic and they change the menu quarterly. The beers are rotating to keep the excitement factor in place. Overall, best bar in town.“

“The beer selection at this place is on par with some of the more upscale restaurants. The head bartender knows craft beer rather well. The food is just ok, nothing to write home about. “New place off the 680. It’s located in an old building just off the main drag in Danville near Pete’s. This place is pretty cool, but they really need to update the decor inside. Very unexciting and not at all creative. They have a small bar with seating for only about 6. The tap list was surprisingly good with a few unusual locals. I had a black lager from Henhouse that was delicious. They had a bunch of other good stuff too, nothing eye-popping, but all good beers. They have one small cooler with some nicely selected bottles for in house or to take home. They have a good looking menu, but I didn’t try the food on this visit. The service was very friendly and the guy behind the bar seemed to be into the scene and really knew his beers. Kudos for having a full kitchen… I’m getting a little burnt out on taprooms with great beer and no food. Worth a stop if you’re in town, or passing through since there aren’t many other good options nearby. Except for Pete’s.“

“Stopped on a Sat. afternoon at 3pm and it was packed! Great atmosphere, friendly and attentive service. Didn’t eat but the food looked very good with huge portions. Sampled a few short pours near the bar area. Solid line-up and prices seemed reasonable. Definitely worth a stop if you’re in Danville, but I wouldn’t go out of my way normally.“

“Pretty neat cozy brewpub in a small city that appears to be a former industrial city. Pretty ugly post-industrial city but very nice brewpub. Two floors, sits about 100 maybe less. Downstairs a bit more pub while the upstairs is a bit more restaurant. They only had 5 beers on tap when I was there but apparently they can go up to 8 or 10. Sat at the bar and proceeded to try their offerings, very impressed by how passionate and knowledgeable my barman was about the beers. Old Forge seem to focus on session beers true to their respective styles. Don’t expect 11% abv crazy experiments there. I liked all four beers I had (ratings from 3.3. to 3.8). Also the beer was pretty cheap. Didn’t try the food but it looked like delicious simple meals at an affordable price. This place is a must if you are driving through this area.“

“After a long day at Knoebel’s with a bunch the RB crew from Kramer’s campground brewdown we stopped off for a few beers and a bite to eat. Sat upstairs since there was about 13 of us, and we had the whole place to ourselves up there for most of the time. This was good and bad as sometimes it seemed like no service staff was taking care of us, but overall we had solid service, and quite accommodating given three or four of us opted for samplers. A few people ordered meals and seemed quite happy with the food, and the rest of us went through a couple of orders of the pretzels (which were the same kind of awesome that Selin’s Grove had). The beers were good, nothing amazing, but on par or better than most standard brewpub offerings. A worthwhile stop and we certainly had an excellent time in a big beautiful space (although our table slanted a little bit.)“

“This place is conveniently located right in front of Beer Engine, so it is an ideal location to grab dinner beforehand. Ambiance is pretty casual and slightly rustic, with local art/music artifacts on the walls. Service was friendly and capable with food and beer. Selection of beers were mainly the 12 taps, which rotate, and feature some well regarded breweries. The food was very tasty; I had the Mediterranean pizza and my friend had a stromboli sandwich, we were very pleased with our meals. Food is fairly priced and so is the beer. Definitely worth the stop when in the area.“

“2012-08-18. Older building, the main floor is relatively small with a huge chandelier and mugs all over the wall (mug club?) Upstairs has an airy, old building conversion to it with character that I like. Large windows into the street let in lots of light. Small patio in the back of the second floor. Beers ranged from quite good to just okay, none really knocked my socks of but most were at least serviceable. Server was quite friendly and helpful but a bit slow given that our party comprised the majority of the people there at the time. Shared a quesadilla which was quite enjoyable, and a bit of the soft pretzels that were going around the table (very good!). House made root beer was quite good, and actually a bit better than some of the beers on the sampler try. Prices seemed quite reasonable. Absolutely worth a visit if you are in town. “

“Same review as Rudolf below, big RB group came here for Campdown Brewdown. Two floors of modern, clean, woody space. Full lunch and dinner menu, large with good variety. Pretzels were great, sandwiches looked decent. Perhaps a little underwhelming for food and not so cheap. Can do a flight of the beers they have on tap. I think it was $8 for 7 beer flight, which is very good. However, most of the beers were oversteeped grain tannic and thin. One or two were enjoyable. Service was quite slow and not used to a large group, which is understandable. This is in a really small town. But then again so is Selins Grove.“

“Stopped for dinner here on Friday night after Knoebels. Despite the poor reviews on Google, we found OFBC to be a pretty decent brewpub. Service was really good and quick. We had 3 different beers - The Eleven Black IPA, Underbite IPA and their Bourbon Barrel Imperial Stout. All were decent beers and we even got a growler of the Black IPA to go. Food was good (the grilled cheese with bacon was amazing, which is what our daughter had). I would definitely recommend stopping by if you’re in the area.“

“The newly expanded upstairs is great. I love the openess and all the big old windows looking out on the street and the old wood work. The food is good...sandwiches, salads, and burgers are all good choices. The beers are all solid, but something a little more daring would add to the the variety. A strong dessert beer or even something fruity would round out the repertoire. A valuable addition to downtown Danville.“

“A nice spot on the main drag of Danville. Downstairs is cozy with a bar and a few tables as well as some of beermaking equipment. (sorry I’m not yet well versed enough in my beerist adventures to be able to identify the machinery.)There’s also seating available in an upstairs area. The most prominent feature is the metal umbrella that holds a couple hundred colorful mugs. It looks like something out of Alice in Wonderland and it adds a tremendous amount of funkiness to the place. The mug club sounds like a great bargain as well. This is a place to talk, no tv’s. and drink good beer. The unusual thing about their board, they had 8 on taps, is that most of them were of session strength 4.5-5% ABV which the bartender said was unusual. I really enjoyed their Belgian-style Blonde Ale. And my hamburger was fantastic. I’ll definitely go back if I’m in the area.“

“7/02/09: Stopped by on a quiet, sunny Wednesday afternoon. There weren’t a lot of people here but it was like 3:00 on a weekday. Looks like this place was newly built, the wood was still shiny and sparkly. The downstairs is pretty small (just a small bar and a few tables) but I think they also have tables upstairs, although I didn’t see it. No TV here but they do play music. The beers were pretty decent. I especially like the pilsener and porter. The mild ale was alright and I didn’t care much for the stout and Belgian ale. When I was there they had 5 beers on tap. I believe they rotate fairly often. Good service, but then again, I was one of only 4, max 5 people at the brewpub. I got a turkey sandwich and it was very tasty. Lots of their food features locally-grown cheese or bread and it’s pretty healthy too. An interesting new brewpub--check it out if you are passing along route 80.

Update 12/23/10: Visited again in late August 2010, this time on a Sunday evening and it was again fairly quiet. A large apparatus like a circus top was installed to hold mugs for the mug club (pretty interesting looking). This time there weren’t many beers on tap (maybe 4) which were decent. It was a good place to stop at the end of a beer trip right before a long haul back to Long Island.“

“I really liked this place. My boss insisted on taking me here after a conversation about craft beer. I was really impressed with the quick and friendly service and the food was outstanding. I got the pulled pork sandwich with onion rings which were some of the best I’ve ever had. They had about 20 taps with mostly common micro brews, but a few rare gems. They happened to have RR Damnation which was a surprise. Another good one was the Grand Teton double ESB. Also a beer from English Ales out of Marina CA. Nice to see they support some lesser known local breweries. Word has it, it gets pretty rockin on Friday nights with a good, fun crowd. I’ll keep my eye on this one for some good rare local beers.“
