Holy Grail Pub (Restaurant)
64 MAIN STREET
“Old church repurposed as a tavern. Food is good and the beer selection in interesting. Worth a stop by just for the ambiance of a medieval tavern.“

“Tucked in a corner, off Rt 125 and across from the Holy Grail, Greg & Jane's is a nice craft beer outpost in the Seacoast. They have a great selection of NH and ME beer, and the prices are excellent. Service is excellent and they sell singles. Layout is confusing until you get the hang of it.“

“This is located a short distance off busy Rt 125. I was not sure what to expect but I was impressed when I went into it. They say they have over 1,000 bottles and they do allow you to buy singles out of multi-packs. Those are the kind of beer stores I particularly like. But they make a concerted effort to set aside singles on the singles shelf. A lot of regionals and locals. Prices seemed fairly reasonable for me. They will give you 25 cents for every plastic 4 or 6 pack can holder that you return to them. So save them up and bring them in. And then go shopping. I get over to that part of the state several times a year and I will definitely visit again.“

“Stopped in here Friday for the first time. Really great selection for the area, if I lived closer this would be my regular store. I asked if they had any of a particular beer cold, and they didn’t. The guy at the counter said if I enjoyed that beer enough and wanted to purchase it again to give the store a call before coming over and they would chill some down for me. How awesome is that? Average prices great service, if your in the area check them out.“

“Very friendly and helpful staff. They make it a point to make sure all the customers have what they need. They asked if I had a special request which I did, and they took my name and phone number to contact me if they could get it through their distributor. They allow singles and mixed six packs with pretty much everything available in the state of New Hampshire. Prices are about average. Definitely worth a look to the out of town ticker.“

“Newly opened bottle shop a short distance off of 101 that is more craft beer than wine. The staff is super helpful, asking if you are looking for anything in particular or want recommendations and quick to point out you can ask them to break up any product NOT in the coolers (including 12 packs) in order to buy singles (they also have a shelf specifically for singles). But, they are not all over you. I suspect they would do their best to order something specifically for you as long as they could pull it off. There is a good selection of NH, MA and ME beers, including some from less well-known outfits as well as national and international brands. Even from the well-known brands, they have a greater variety of offerings than usually found elsewhere. They are also offering regular beer or wine tastings to make this a destination. Prices are better than average on some things, higher than average on others. Some unusual pricing (things ending in $x.22 for instance) so I think they have the markup they are looking for but are trying to keep things on the affordable side. Small section of frozen food including trying to sell local wares (such as locally raised meat) as well as an aisle of service station-like products (e.g., paper plates, canned goods, etc.). Well lit, clean, room to move around. Good people trying to do things well.“

Market Basket (Grocery Store)
24 CALEF HIGHWAY
“This is part of the Market Basket supermarket chain, which has grocery stores around New England. This is one of their newer stores. It is not strictly a bottle shop but since 2010 the Market Basket Corp has realized the profit potential of offering a wide variety of beers from macros to crafts. Most of these stores put up window posters touting their beer aisles. No mix and match. The only singles you can buy are the 22-24-26 ouncers that are sold as singles. However you will find New England regional favorites, seasonals, the best-known Belgians, popular imports, as well as 6 and 12 packs of national brews and regional. Since they buy in bulk for all of their stores you will find these at a fairly good price. Occasionally there are beer tastings but you never know when. Then once you have finished browsing the beer aisle you can buy your groceries for the week.“

Holy Grail Pub (Restaurant)
64 MAIN STREET
“This is a cool place, it was built in a old church. They have 20 beers on draught and a good bottle selection. The food is really good, traditional Irish food. The beers are very expensive, and the service is so-so. A great place to go but I don’t really frequent this place.“
