80 /100 Bierhandlung (Beer Store) WANNERSTRASSE 3 Nice beer shop in Freiburg, with a good choice of german craft. |
62 /100 Rewe (Grocery Store) TALSTRASSE 4 Good range of locally brewed bottled beers at reasonable prices, Waldhaus, Ganter etc |
70 /100 Hotel Gasthaus Schutzen (Bar) SCHÜTZENALLEE 12 This is a fairly large bar/restaurant with a beer garden, it also has rooms upstairs and parking. Located 500 metres from the old town, so perfect for me all respects. Serves the full range of Ganter beers, brewed only down the road. |
80 /100 BAR am Funkeneck (Bar) FERDINAND-WEISS STRASSE 8 Gemütliche Bar nicht weit weg vom Bahnhof. Deckers Garage ist such um die Ecke. Ca. 10 Taps. Regionale Biere, Craftbiere und auch europäische Spezialitäten. Durchaus überraschend. Preis Freiburg typisch hoch. Hin gehen! |
68 /100 GERBERAU 46 Klassisches Braurestaurant. 2 Biere vom Fass. Nichts Besonderes. |
84 /100 Bierhandlung (Beer Store) WANNERSTRASSE 3 Kleiner aber sehr gut sortierter Laden nahe des Hbf. Fast nur Craftbier. Auch viele belgische und andere europäische Brauer. Sollte man in Freiburg vorbei schauen. Sehr netter Verkäufer. |
62 /100 KAISER JOSEPHSTRASSE 237 Oldschool Brewpub im Keller in der Altstadt. Pils, Weizen + ein Saisonbier. Why not? |
76 /100 HASLACHERSTR 25 Urig und abseits. Es gibt nur Flaschen. Jetzt mit Corona Lagerfeuer. Passt. |
80 /100 Bierhandlung (Beer Store) WANNERSTRASSE 3 best beer shop in Freiburg
Nice guys and the place to be do drink one pint or more |
38 /100 Hauck Getränkefachmarkt (Beer Store) GUNTERSTALSTRASSE 35 Shop is closed |
70 /100 Fristo Getränkemarkt Freiburg (Beer Store) BREISACHER STRASSE 137 Visiting this shop at the beginning of this year during a stay, at Freiburg. A classical German Getränk shop with large alley. The selection of beers is basical with some local beer of the land and Bayern, cheap prices, average service, easy access by public transport. |
64 /100 GERBERAU 46 Located in the enchanting Old Town of Freiburg, this brewpub is very popular with locals and tourists alike, who can either sit in the main building or in the big biergarten on the opposite side of the street. The selection of the beer is limited to the three varieties brewed on location, but it is worth coming for - I had the Pilsener and it was far above the average. The food is excellent, mtoo. Busy but not unfriendly staff. Reasonable prices. I might want to come back one day. |
76 /100 BAR am Funkeneck (Bar) FERDINAND-WEISS STRASSE 8 Located outside the strict city centre but easily reachable by tram (no. 3 towards Haid, get off at the stop after the central train station), this cozy bar offers probably the best selection of craft beer in town. There are good local (city and Bundesland) brews in bottles and some local beers on the four taps). Very friendly staff and decent prices. I would love to come back again one day. |
36 /100 KAISER JOSEPHSTRASSE 237 A bit of a tourist trap with a small beer range. I had the amber which was decent. |
70 /100 Craftbeer Lodge (Beer Store) SALZSTRASSE 26 Decent bottle shop in the old town I spotted exploring the night before. I returned the next morning to get some locally brewed beers to take home. |
50 /100 Ganter Brauereiausschank (Restaurant) MÜNSTERPLATZ 18-20 The Ganter Brauereiausschank by the Friberg Cathedral has really beautiful location and the historical building it's in is beautiful. From patio you have really beautiful views. But then... the service. Really slow and inattentive. Yes, they are busy and they have enough customers to choose from but still... come on! They have their most common Ganter beers on tap. Food, we didn't want to eat here with that kind of service. |
56 /100 SCHWARZWALDSTRASSE 43 Visited the FBQ Freiburger Bierquelle bottle and souvenir shop on Fabrikstraße 9, just around the corner but still on the same premises as the brewery, access is just via another road. Confusing but worth a visit as they stock alle the Ganter range of beers and quite an extensive range of glasses and souvenirs. |
78 /100 HASLACHERSTR 25 Decker Garage is a really interesting place. A bar serving local craft beer in an industrial area next to a working garage. In their patio you can drink local beer watching some VWs being repaired. The quality of the beer (especially Craftklub beers) varies quite a lot but it's local and definitely small batch brewed. Friendly service. We were surprised to be the only customers on a Saturday night 8pm. Definitely an experience. |
62 /100 Craftbeer Lodge (Beer Store) SALZSTRASSE 26 A small and cramped beer store in the heart of Freiburg old town. Decent selection of local, German and international craft beers. Some beers in cold. Slow service and quite high prices. |
80 /100 Bierhandlung (Beer Store) WANNERSTRASSE 3 A small beer store close to railway station. The selection is great when it comes to local and German craft beers and that was exactly what I was looking for. The service was really friendly and knowledgeable. Nice prices. Wish I could buy more... The best store in town. Highly recommendable. |
78 /100 BAR am Funkeneck (Bar) FERDINAND-WEISS STRASSE 8 The Bar (am Funkeneck) is definitely the best (and one of the few) place for the craft beer in Freiburg im Breisgau. They have local (Braukollektiv) and German craft beers in bottles. Really friendly and knowledgeable service and reasonable prices. A warm recommendation. We had fun!
|
42 /100 GERBERAU 46 On a sunny Friday afternoon their Biergarten was really busy. However we managed to find a table. Choosing beer was really easy as they were only serving one beer, a pils called Inselhopf. A decent pils. We didn't eat so I cannot judge their food. However I wasn't impressed. |
56 /100 KAISER JOSEPHSTRASSE 237 The beer selection was limited to Pils, Hefeweizen and their seasonal Amber Ale. They have a rotation of seasonal beers throughout the year. The amber ale was surprisingly tasty. But the best schnitzels we had in Freiburg were here in Martin's Bräu. Affordable prices and decent service.
|
52 /100 Markt am Gleis (Grocery Store) BISMARCKALLEE 3 This is only for the downstairs one. They have a so-so selection of beers, but importantly about 20 cold opnes by the bottle, including some local craft. Not bad for a station store. |
78 /100 BAR am Funkeneck (Bar) FERDINAND-WEISS STRASSE 8 Great bar run by the owner of Bierhandlung. 8 taps usually incluse 3-4 German craft beers, and there are many more in the bottle. The ownder is friends with pretty much all the craft brewers in the area, so lots of their beers end up here. Must stop. |
64 /100 KAISER JOSEPHSTRASSE 237 Crowded and busy beer garden when I went. Unfiltered pils was great, and I enjoyed the seasonal cream ale as well. Possibly the best beer of the three altstadt breweries and definitely worth a stop for the Pils. |
60 /100 Ganter Brauereiausschank (Restaurant) MÜNSTERPLATZ 18-20 Beautiful location just across from the Minster. Selection is ok, just Ganter stuff but includes the bock. Prices are stupidly high as you are paying for the view. Still, a good place to try their lineup. |
82 /100 Bierhandlung (Beer Store) WANNERSTRASSE 3 This is a great place to get local B-W craft beers. The best I found. Thomas is great, knows his beers and is very friendly and helpful. There is also a pretty great selection of Belgian imports (and other countries’ stuff as well), which I wasn’t particularly interested in, but if you live here, you will love it. Not a place to get the old German regulars—the supermarkets in town are fine for that. But definitely the place to get good German craft bottles. |
60 /100 GERBERAU 46 Nice beer garten in summer. Inselhof and a weizen. Both pretty good. Enjoyed sitting under the chestnut trees. It gets pretty crowded in summer. Would be nicer if they had a couple more beers, but the Inselhopf is worth a try. |
80 /100 HASLACHERSTR 25 This is a place out the back of a garage that repairs old Kombis. Very rustic but chilled. They serve their own (Decker) beers in bottles, but also cans and bottles from other local brewers. Worth a visit if you're in Freiburg, although they are not often open. |
60 /100 KAISER JOSEPHSTRASSE 237 new craft beer every month. the regular pils is ok as well |
74 /100 GERBERAU 46 Prinzipiell eine schöne Location, aber gerammelt voll mit Touristen. Trotzdem lohnt sich ein kurzer Abstecher für ein Bierchen - das kann man dann ja auch auf der Straße trinken. |
68 /100 Craftbeer Lodge (Beer Store) SALZSTRASSE 26 A good craft beer store, with a lot of German craft beers, including quite some locals. They also have a rack of Belgian beers and two racks with a great variety from all over Europe. People are nice and knowledgable. They organize tastings on a regular basis. Only downside is that the beers are a little pricy. |
28 /100 GERBERAU 46 The place looks nice, but is too crowded and touristy. They only serve 1 beer, their Inselhopf, so I don't know why this is on here. The beer was ok though. The service below average. Not really worth a visit. |
30 /100 KAISER JOSEPHSTRASSE 237 This is no destination for beer enthusiasts. They serve two of their standard beers and one rotating special brew. All not very interesting. The place is loud, touristy, not much ambiance. Only positive thing is that it's not expensive. |
Sehr gute Auswahl an (seltenen) belgischen (sauer!) Bieren |
44 /100 KAISER JOSEPHSTRASSE 237 Touristic brewpub but the beer is good. |
64 /100 GERBERAU 46 brew-gastro-pub for locals and tourists. Inselhopf is quite sweet, süffig. well made food |
56 /100 Markt am Gleis (Grocery Store) BISMARCKALLEE 3 Always open with Waldhaus, Braukollektiv and some plörrish beers (cold) for take away. Right iat the main railway station |
56 /100 Rewe (Grocery Store) TALSTRASSE 4 Rewe with average selection of german and belgium craft beers and some undrinkable german beers. |
74 /100 Rewe (Grocery Store) TALSTRASSE 4 This supermarket is not so bad and in Germany is in general the choice better than Switzerland. You have the classical German beers and the classical from the region, some usual foreign beers, average. |
88 /100 Bierhandlung (Beer Store) WANNERSTRASSE 3 I went there in March during my stay in Freiburg. In my opinion, it is a nice shop, not so big, decent choice of beers from Belgium. Germany, England and etc.... the prices are correct and the atmosphere is pleasant. |
72 /100 Ganter Brauereiausschank (Restaurant) MÜNSTERPLATZ 18-20 In the square by the Cathedral, this is an outlet for the brewery. Seems Bavarian...big wooden beams and dark paneling. Several alcoves give an uncrowded feeling. At least 4 of their own beers on tap as well as several other bottles. Large traditional menu. Overall a bit pricey. |
42 /100 GERBERAU 46 Uncomfortably crowded on a Saturday afternoon. Small menu, only a sweet helles on tap. Another building, just across the creek, also served a dunkels. |
62 /100 KAISER JOSEPHSTRASSE 237 Large single room brewpub with open kitchen to the right, bar to the left, and brew kettles to the rear. Plenty of seating scattered between. Large menu, not expensive. Four beers on tap including 2 "craft beers", in this case a blonde and an IPA. |
70 /100 Craftbeer Lodge (Beer Store) SALZSTRASSE 26 Neuer Bottle Shop in der Freiburger Altstadt. Interessante deutsche Biere, einige aus dem Schwarzwald. Dazu viele internationale Biere. |
72 /100 Markt am Gleis (Grocery Store) BISMARCKALLEE 3 Visited on 17th July. Situated downstairs at Freiburg Hbf on the way to Platforms 2-8 this is a Supermarket with a good range of bottles at the rear. Amongst the local, regional and national brews were 5 beers from Braukollektiv and 2 from Decker (both 330ml and 1l).
Beers were available from the fridge and on the shelf, prices and service good. Staff friendly enough.
Really handy spot to pick up some decent beers, especially if you need one for the rails! |
