“Stopped in for just one beer while walking the strip on our journey from NY to AZ for winter. About 5pm on a Tuesday in January, only a few people there. The Bartender was serving food. I waited a while for him to come back to Bar. Had a tourist style (Not very good) stout. Nice big place. No reason to go back.“

“We stopped in for some drinks after doing one side of the strip and I needed a drink before the other side. Tourist Beer as expected. The Stout and Belgian were decent. 3pm on weekday in January, yes we were only ones in thare at that time. Nice place though. There Beer is much better then the place at other end of the strip.“

“Stopped for a late dinner no problem they are open until 1AM so no hurry. Tried two flights and thought the beers were pretty solid, a few hazies, a light ale. Had a pint of the double IPA. For food they had pizzas that are excellent and a nice salad. Solid beer place right outside a national park, pretty cool.“

“Nice clean space. Interior is very pleasant, but is unfortunately opposite the Trump store, so a constant stream of people taking unironic pictures does somewhat limit the vibe. Beer quality was better than Smoky Mountain Brewery, but still quite hit and miss. Server was super excited and helpful about all the beers.“

“Large two-level space, feels a bit less like Gatlinburg than the rest of Gatlinburg, which is a huge bonus. Beer prices were hilariously cheap. Flight of 9 beers was $10. Unfortunately did not particularly enjoy any of them. We accidentally won the pub quiz, which had a surprisingly generous prize.“

“Stopped by before walking up and down the strip. Strip was packed but tables open here. Averaged beer with nothing standing out and one of my Pet Peeves ... don't list beers on-tap or to go on your menu that you do have and haven't had in over a week. Pizza was good ... I guess you are in a tourist area, so what can you do. Flights of 4 for $12 each which is pricey for what you get here.“

“We stopped in atthe Sevierville location. The brewery is in the same building comples as a distillery and was just a block down the road from the Wilderness Resort, where we were staying. The beers were just ok. They had a decent selection, but most of the beers I tried seemed lacking in aroma and body. Not bad, and this is the only brewery in town, so there is that.“

“I am frankly mystified as to why this place is so highly rated. It's got a decent atmosphere, I guess. Maybe. The lines are filthy - I had an Alliance Kolsch, a beer I am very familiar with. It was completely flat, and astringently sour. Pretty much undrinkable, and I'm not that picky. The service was...well, she tried, I guess. Selection was average, with a few English imports and locals and several macros.“

“Stopped in for lunch and a beer or two after the Salt & Pepper Shaker Museum (you should go, btw). The location is great for people watching as it sits one floor above the busiest intersection in Gatlinburg. Ah tourist watching...Anyhoo, the service was good, and the beer was way better than I was expecting. The wood fired pizza was really good as well. Prices are Gatlinburg reasonable.“

“Nice place - comfortable surroundings and good food (my nephews really like the place). Beer is the average brew-chain quality. You’re in Gatlinburg so you should expect a tourist trap but prices aren’t that horrible. Have bottled beer to go. / Update 2018: Seemed to have improved in their bottling - no off flavors now. Food still decent and seemed to have a greater variety of styles. Continues to be the only game in town.“

“Standard Mellow Mushroom. Decent selection with many locals. Really the best place to grab a pint in Gatlinburg if you want something other that Smoky Mountain Brewing Company.“

“It's more than accurate for me to just copy and paste my Pigeon Forge Mellow Mushroom rating. If you've been to Mellow Mushroom, you kind of know what to expect. Add the right Gatlinburg touristy, kitchiness and this is what you've got. It's a massive restaurant with a decent sized bar. (this one is upstairs) Finding a good beer in Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg is challenging to say the least, so it's great to have this option. This is definitely one of the better beer lists in the area, but it's not gonna knock your socks off. Basically expect the more widely distributed microbreweries' flagships like Sweetwater, Highland, Terrapin, and the obligatory InBev products. Expect the beer to be served frustratingly cold. I'm sure there are many beer lovers who are stuck in town on vacation that will find a haven here. I've always thought Mellow Mushroom had different and tasty pizza too.“

“Visited in 2014 as a pit stop on the way from Asheville to Knoxville. Plus we have a semi-rule that we stop at all brewpubs & brewery taprooms that we pass on our teavels. Big mountain chalet style place, just off the main drag in the tourist trap that is Gatlinburg(although slightly less tacky thasn Pigeon Forge). Lunch was fine. All nine beers available could be had in a sampler - not always the case in brewpubs, where you’r sometimes expected to take a smaller selection - and I took all nine. All drinkable but generally mediocre. By no means a top beer destination but, as there’s precious little else in these parts, it’s no hardship to drop in if you’re passing.“

“Befitting of the Gatlinburg vibe that overall was extremely disappointing, this place was a bit of a let down. We arrived early for midweek dinner, but the place wasn’t very clean (eaten chicken wings around the bar floor area, general debris around and about the dining area, etc), and it weren’t a brewpub, I don’t think I would’ve stayed thru the initial impression. That said, the service was OK, although we really couldn’t tell who was our server ... 3 or 4 different people would stop by frequently, but then there would be 3 or 4 staff just standing around the computer gossiping and not paying attention to anyone. The food was OK, and the beers were probably the best Gatlinburg has to offer, unfortunately. If you’re in town, this is the place to go I guess, but temper your expectations. Brewery #791.“

“Visited on a rainy evening in November. Farily slow during my visit, but it was a little before the evening rush. They had 10 beers on tap, and the majority were new to me. My sampler of all 10 was fairly inexpensive. The bartender checked in on me about as often as I would like, and she kept my water glass full. All things considered, this place is alright. Not somewhere I would go to expect to find great beer, but a fair place to go to get out of the tourist trap that is Gatlinburg.“

“I’m pretty confident I’ve been to a Mellow Mushroom before, though I can’t say for sure. Beer selection is probably the best in the area of Gatlinburg. However, it is not as impressive as some locations, at least according to my friend who was in our group. Food was decent (especially for the tourist-trap area), service was nice.“

“Place looks like a mountain cabin but with a club-house feel with all the different colored lighting inside.

We didn’t stop for food, so can’t rate that. Seems to me to be a bit like a Rock Bottom style of setup here, though the beer wasn’t as good. For anyone familiar with the "Hops" chain, it’s certainly better than that but keep it in mind.

Seasonals were the best options on the menu. I believe it’s the only brewery in the area, but you’d probably be better off going to Mellow Mushroom or just passing on beer altogether. Sampler was something like 10 bucks for all their beers, a pretty good deal to be honest.“

“We’ve been coming here for 10 years, can’t believe I never rated. The beer is really poor, but it’s family tradition to go here every year. Good pizza, lots of tvs. I’ve had about 8 of their beers and they are all average to poor. Infected beer this past visit. Free parking if you keep the receipt.“

“I was visiting my parents during an RV trip of theirs for a night, and decided to check this place out on my way back. I didn’t realize it until I got close, but this place is in the most tourist-y part of gatlinburg. The trip over is really a trip. Don’t worry about parking, turn left when you see the Calhoun’s rib place, this brewpub is sort of behind it in what they call "Calhoun’s Village" - a sort of cozy strip home to 8 or so businesses. Really quaint and charming. Parking is $7 flat rate though (a deal compared to the $8 everywhere else). The outside looks just as pictured, but shadier and better vegetated. Inside looks very log-cabin like, with big windows showing nice views at the upstairs bar (go upstairs when you enter btw). Some clubby-pop music was playing, which kind of clashed with the vibe for me, but it was at a reasonable volume. Bartender / hostess were as helpful as I could expect. Luckily the beer was much cheaper than the parking -- $10 for a 5oz of all 9 of the beers on tap is pretty reasonable. I found 7 out of 9 of the beers to be awful, though. Didn’t try the food but there was a full menu available that looked like it could have been worth trying. Overall, worth visiting if you’re in Gatlinburg anyway and looking to try the local beer. Really nice building and view. I have to say the adventure over was something memorable. But don’t expect high-quality if you sample the core beers. Stick with the seasonal offering or the dark ale if you want something decent.“

“We were just driving through the arts and crafts loop and stumbled upon the diamond in the rough. We intended on just checking the place out and having a beer or two. 4 hours later we had many brews , an appetizer and dinner too. The chips are authentic and amazing. We both had the fish and chips. Best we’ve ever had. The owner was so awesome. I’ve read reviews where some thought he was rude but that’s part of the English pub experience. He was the best. He kept us laughing for hours. Met many new life friends and will definitely be back every year and probably stay for several hours again. Oh and the darts are fun too!!“

“Stopped in while visiting Gatlinburg. A little off the main road, but in a really cool location. We went upstairs to the bar area and tried a few of their beers. “Spent some time here while vacationing, easy walk from our hotel. Kind of a mountain lodge atmosphere with two stories of seating/barspace. Attentive service, decent bar food (sandwiches, pizza, etc.) with average beers of many styles. Worth a stop if vacationing here as it’s the only brewery in Gatlinburg.“

“This place has the best selection of beer in Gatlinburg. 24 taps, including Rogue, Victory, Foothills, Terrapin, and local brews. The bartenders are friendly and seems to know their beer. Samples are given if requested and this is the ONLY place in Gatlinburg with high gravity beer on tap. Happy hour is from 3-6 Monday through Friday and features half priced drafts. It is clean and a huge Mellow Mushroom. They have a patio dining area as well. A must stop for anyone who wants a good beer in Gatlinburg! Easily the best beer you can find on the strip!“

“Smoky Mountain Brewery has four east Tennessee locations. The first branch to open was in Gatlinburg, in quite a distinctive building. It’s an Alpine chalet-style structure in a little enclave off the main drag of souvenir shops, entered through a gate warning that you’ll need a receipt to get out at the other end. We had the receipt ready when we left (via a huge car park in a forested area at the back) but didn’t need it as it was out of season. Inside the chalet, there’s the brewery and kitchen downstairs and a huge light and airy room upstairs where all the pillars are covered in bank notes. We had lunch and a flight of nine beers, all of which were a bit sweet. Nevertheless it was a pleasant stop on a roundabout route between Knoxville and Asheville. (Visited 6 February 2014).“

“The Sergio’s of Gatlinburg due to the inflated ratings from people who pop in and never return to RateBeer.com. I was embarrassed for my wife when we walked in but I was alright with the decor. PATIENCE is key but very kid friendly if there aren’t more than two kids needing high chairs. Food was good to great. Service was slow but friendly if not jovial. Plenty of taps but a few were out. Help yourself beer fridge and darts.“

“Visited here again last month. Tucked away on the arts and craft road. English themed bar/restaurant with a decent beer selection. Darts and porch available. “Reviewed 9-17-10 Before my wife and I left for vacation in the Smokies, I did my research on BA to find out where the best craft beer drinking holes were. On the last day of our vacation, we ended up in this neck of the woods. After a day of arts and craft shopping, a few fantabulous brews were in order, so we ended up here. What a treat! Awesome atmosphere, with a massive staircase leading up to the pub, bookcases to give it that homely feel, and some TVs to keep customers entertained. Some of the beers: Sweetwater IPA and Blue, a couple of Yazoo selections, some Highland standards, and many more. The bartender wasn’t exactly a beer afficianado, but she was very friendly and more than willing to find out the answers to any questions we had if she didn’t know them offhand. After a while, the owner came out and talked to us for a good bit. When I mentioned that I learned about his place from BA, he lit up. Before we left, he gave us a business card and handed me a brand new Fox and Parrot/Magic Hat collaboration pint glass. Whoa! Not only does he have a lot of care and respect for the reputation of his business, he also treats his customers like gold. Also, definitely order the Scotch eggs. They’re dynamite! “

“Stopped by here when in town for a few days. Saw it from the site, decided to check it out. We’ve got plenty of beer, so I didn’t really need any, but wanted to stop by anyways. This is a liquor store solely. There was all of half a dozen sixers on the shelf. That’s it. This is not a place for beer. Honestly, one would be better served for selection at a grocery store like Food City in town. Was there earlier and they had a much greater variety. This may have been a good stop in the past, but no more. Search elsewhere. “

“Visited on a Monday afternoon and sat at the bar. Bartender did not promote their beer at all. Had to ask for a list/description of beers. The beer selection seemed to be aimed at the bud/miller/coors fan as most of the beers were golden colored or lacking in hops. The only beer that appeared to have prominent hops, pale ale, was good enough for me to enjoy a few pints. The prices were good too - we had 4 or 5 pints and the bill was about $10.“

“Yes this place does have a couple beers but considering they are a liquor store in Tennessee they have opportunity to have a lot of special quality beers. In Tennessee beer stores are not allowed to carry high gravity beers only liquor stores can. So they could have a real nice selection of craft beers but choose to only keep a small amount of a few beers. Standard large grocery store fare.“

“Smoky Mountain Brewery in Gatlinburg, TN is right in the middle of a tourist trap. The beers were mostly OK, some were pretty good, I bought a growler of the Porter. The food is cheap and pretty it’s much bar food. It’s served on plastic with checkerboard paper. The service, however, was just fine. Overall, this place is pretty low-rent, but the beers are not half bad to try if you are in town.“

“The place is a bit hard to find as it is nestled back in a little shopping plaza right as you enter town from the park side, but well worth stopping by. Food there was typical bar type food, but good - personally I recommend the reuben. Beers weren’t amazing, but most of them were pretty solid and well priced. I got the sampler of all 8 that they had on tap and it was less than $10 I think. You can also get 6ers to go for under $2 a bottle which I thought was reasonable given the fact that there is very little else in the way of beer selection in the smokies. If you are in gatlinburg, this is definitely the beer place to stop.“
