“Visited 16/7/2019. Sadly this once great establishment is falling behind many of the recent market entrants. Still a very good range but not what I gather it once was. Lots of out of date beers on our visit too (though at least they were separate and not just hidden on dusty shelves). Chatting to the owner, he seemed reluctant to expand into the newer more popular styles and at the same time seems to be scaling back as demand drops on his traditional offerings and stock goes out of date. Bit of a catch 22 it seemed. Hope he keeps up his success though, his history certainly deserves it.“

“I having been coming here for around 8 years now, and it’s always worth the trip (I’ve travelled from Reading and Oxford, by train and by bike). There is always an excellent range, and at fair prices. Jack, the owner is very knowledgable and is happy to point out beers to suit your tastes. Lots of retailers are getting on the craft beer bandwagon, but Westholme cover these plus bottle conditioned beers from the Uk, Germany, and Belgium. It’s about 6 min walk from Goring railway station, so is convenient if you don’t have a car. Overall well worth a visit.“

“Great bottle shop / convenience store tucked away in a small town. It must survive on people travelling a distance to get to it, but it is certainly worth while. Plenty of choice and you can take your time as there is parking nearby. For us in the sticks it is a godsend.“

“Took a trip our here 3rd January. About a 25 minute drive from Reading, if you know where you are going! It really is out on a limb and a strange place, like a typical village store, there is how ever a whole isle virtually dedicated to bottle of beer, I picked some Kernels, not much of a selection in, when I was there, but it was just after Christmas, Buxton Black Rocks, Thornbridge St Petersberg, couple of bottles of Sublimely Self Righteous Ale from Stone, which were almost a year out of date, I had noticed and got these at 50%. Worth a trip out once in a while, if you don’t have access to London’s bottle shops. Certainly a great selection, and beats any off license I have seen!“

“Small local conveniece store in the middle of nowhere, and what a fantastic beer selection, hundreds of bottles, most English but also good selection of american, Belgian and German beers. Picked a load of bottles, the owner was nice to drive me back to the Goring railway station (1 km). Definately recommended for anyone nearby to visit.“

“This is nuts - browsing in a "specialist" beer store whilst other people wander past with newspapers, milk and pizzas! The range matches this surreal feeling - it seems to have been picked completely at random, and unfortunately scattered on the shelves with a similar disregard for convention - there seems to be no attempt to group beers into any order at all, whether by country, style or alphabet! I saw Traquair House Ale in three different places! If you’ve got time, it’s truly wonderful to browse here, for with the eclectic approach to stock purchase, there are beers here from breweries I’ve never heard of before. Loads of UK microbrews, and a load of Belgians. Beyond this the range is rather more limited, but there’s still plenty I’d never seen anywhere in the UK before. As has been stated previously, Jack is very friendly and quickly marked me down as a beer enthusiast - he said if I wanted anything specific he would try to get his suppliers to get it for me. I was happy just picking random unheard-ofs though. A fantastically eccentric beer paradise, wish my local corner shop was like this! I will definitely return!“

“Have visited here on a few occasions and have always found something new and interesting. Jack the owner is a very friendly fellow who will happily stop and chat for a age with you whilst acknowledging that beer really isn’t his specialist subject, rather this was just a niche that they could exploit in order to compete with the supermarkets and he certainly leapt into it with some gusto. A good selection of mainly UK, but some decent Belgian and US stuff amongst. Worth a trip to if in the area. In the micro world of Oxfordshire beer havens though, as good as this is it has been a little usurped somewhat by Bellingers at Grove. Visited again 17.06.11 for the first time in ages and this has definately hit back and is now streets better than Bellingers which after Peter Fowler (Pitstop Brewery) left is not the same as before, still good but no longer great. I have to say fro rural Oxfordshire and for a convienience store this has an amazing selection, with Kernel, Mallinsons & Saltaire amongst stuff I’ve never seen in here before also some unusual Brewdog beers. Cracking and Jack is back! Spent £50 in about 20 mins, but got some great stuff.“

“What a find (thanks Joeh). An amazing range of beers in what looks like a neighbourhood store. Rather off the beaten track, but I always make a detour if I’m travelling back from Oxford at a reasonable hour. Good range of English beers, and a fair range of Belgian given the location, plus a smattering of beers from elsewhere. There’s always something new to try.“

“From the outside this Londis franchis appears to be an average local store, but they actually sell over 600 beers from all over the world! The selection of imports cover Belgians including a fair selection of lambic, Belgian beers including some quite hard to find ones and American beers including Goose Island, Sierra Nevada and Great Divide. The British selection is vast including many breweries rarely seen elsewhere including locals from Lovibonds and also a number of Scottish breweries including BrewDog. A must visit! The store is located on the east side of Wallingford Road just north of the railway bridge.“
