“Decent enough place in the centre to finish off a Sunday evening, small selection of Dutch beers in the fridge, found one that suited.“

“Friendly one room brown cafe is run by the brewer at Briljant. Very happy to advise on the good & different selection Dutch beer cans & bottles in the fridge. Has regular music events on, they were playing some cracking early days Queen over my first beer.“

“A big busy impersonal place on a Sunday afternoon. Still it's great what they've done with the old church. 20 taps, all Jopen, on a electronic board, 150ml measures, good food & Wifi. Enjoyable enough for a hour or two“

“Small modern streetside cafe with a bare brick wall on one side and the brewery's distinctive owl logo on the other. 30 taps, 10 which is there own. Friendly service“

“Ordered at Foeders Online because they have own import of beers you don't see elsewhere. In this Case Maestri del Sannio and Siemàn. Fast shipping, sturdy packaging, ok prices. Shipping free in NL if more than Eur100. Webshop works intuitive. Very nice selection of breweries / beers. Will order more over here.“

“Visited the actual shop. The webshop looks great, but shipping is only free when ordering over €100. Since the physical location is almost next to my office I decided to check it out. The Foeders shop is located inside the distribution center of Melgers, a bottle shop and distributor in beers and other drinks. There's no sign saying you've reached Foeders.nl. The shop section is basicallly just two aisles, so not much in the sense of atmosphere, with shelving units filled with high-quality beers. Small, artisanal and quirky breweries like Moersleutel, Nevel, De Ranke, De La Senne, Kromme Haring and the likes is the main focus. Scored some unusual De Ranke and De La Senne beers, some very decently priced as they were nearing or over their BB date, a few Newbarns lagers and some other gems. Be sure to check out the €1 sales dept. A lot of beers are high-end and priced as such, most have a very good price/quality ratio. Certainly worth a look, online or in the store itself.“

“Visited a while ago, last Summer I guess. Nice small coffee and donut place with fridges and shelves full of craft beer. Just down the road of Uiltje Bar. Service was very friendly, prices a little steep but reasonable, selection small but modern quality stuff. Took a few beers to enjoy in the park.“

“Uiltje Moyee and Bottleshop is a cool place fresh coffee and donuts and an amazing selection of craft beers. Alongside Uiltje's own brews, they showcase other craft brews from far and wide. A really cool cross over place. Quite small inside with lots of cool art work on the walls. It’s like a living room where you’re always welcome to hide away from busy city life. Otto's top tip, take a big bag 😁. This place will soon become your favourite beer shop in the area!“

“I ordered from the Het Uiltje webshop towards the end of last week and the beers arrived via Hermes yesterday, Hermes for me in Germany has on the whole been a better experience than many folk have. The website is very much like the branding, colourful, in yer' face and loud. There are some very good offers/bundles I took one such bundle that was €50 instead of €70 and added a few more beers to the order. Anyone familiar with Het Uiltje will know that these guys are modern so expect only cans, wacky flavours and abv's that start off super modest and finish super high. There is a great range of styles and even popular styles such as IPA there are numerous substyles. I like Uiltje beers, I like their brewery tap on the industrial estate near Jopen, I'm not the biggest fan of the branding but it's what's in the can that counts. I am sure that I will order from here again, let's see how this selection goes down.“

“(Visited Aug 2019) Nice beer café and restaurant on a quiet and charming back street just north from the cathedral. Interior in wood, mainly dark brown and red. Swift and friendly service. Eight tap beers, half of them from Lindeboom. Good selection of Belgian bottled beers, mainly usual suspects, but some more unusual. Good food at really reasonable prices. Friendly atmosphere, mainly inhabited by locals. Well worth a visit.“

“Visited on a Friday evening for dinner. Large Grand Café - Brown Café mix style restaurant/bar, plenty of seating in the covered patio and inside. Food is typical 'eetcafé' stuff, not very exciting but okay, and a little over-priced. Tap list is focused on Swinckels beers (La Trappe, Bavaria), bottle list is a mix of usual suspects with some decent finds. They also have a fridge with 'can specials' where you enter the restaurant, worth to take a look. Prices are high. Staff was friendly and attentive. Don't think I'll visit again any time soon.“

“Visited on a Friday afternoon, just after opening. Located just off the main square, close to Botermarkt. Nice brown café style dive bar with plenty of space at the bar and some booths in the back. A little grungy but that's the whole point (used to be an alternative / rock bar), taps and bottled beers are mainly Dutch beers, with some classics like Schlenkerla and a few Lambic-style beers in the mix. Nice selection on tap, had one of their own beers and a few others. I like the fact that you can order different sizes (15cl / 25cl / 33cl). Prices were a little on the high side but manageable. Friendly, chatty owner who is a real beer geek as well. Will definitely return.“

“2019 - An odd end of the day experience (well, sometime around 4/5 can't quite remember). The bar manager/owner wouldn't let me order 2 beers at the same time as they were different styles - settled for a taster of one. As others mentioned, full glasses only so a bit of hard work. Major downside was that they didn't take cards so I had to spend 10 minutes looking for an ATM. 3.6 2023 - Much better experience 4 years later. they did accept cards now and I spent a good night here slowly working through the big beers. Would still prefer a smaller glass size! 4.2“

“Quite a big selection of mostly Jopen beers in a very large hall - pretty busy when I visited on a Saturday. However, be aware that some of the taps are in a different room which the staff are unable to access at times, rather confusing. Typical Dutch prices ie expensive. Overall, definitely worth a visit.“

“Brewpub inside an old church. Very nice inside and out, brilliant selection of Jopen's own beers. Was a bit confusing as 3 different drink menus and some beers from each menu weren't available so was had to have a secondary choice lined up in case the first choice was unavailable. Other than that a great day out“

“(Visited Aug 2018) Nice and friendly beer bar centrally located on a narrow street just north of the large square with the cathedral. Long and fairly narrow place in light brown and green wood. On the left is the bar, with tap selection on boards above the taps. Service was friendly and swift. Had 20 taps, around half of them Dutch micros, the rest imported from anywhere in the world. Welcome addition to the Haarlem beer scene. Well worth a visit.“

“I didn't have time to visit their taproom in Haarlem, so came to their bar instead. Small bar located in the pedestrian area of small shops and only few minutes walk from Jopenkerk. 30 taps (some empty ones), flights of four available. Nice cozy place. The best ever music played - 80s 90s indie like Echo&The Bunnymen, Stone Roses, The Cure, Radiohead... Good place to catch Uiltje beers.“

“Their showcase brewpub bulded inside the old church in Haarlem centre. From inside this church looks like everything is new and renovated giving kind of pseudo-Church feeling. Quite big space, modern vibe, lots of red light, tourists... 19 Jopens on tap and many more on bottle. Also some guest taps but I had only Jopens. 12,5cl pours are nice as flights are pre-set.“

“A nice cosy brown bar in Grote Markt. I think it may once have been a fishmonger’s but it’s now decorated with various aviation related paraphernalia relating to its name (“the stork”, which was also the name of an early KLM aeroplane that took came second in a London to Melbourne race in 1934). The beer range isn’t as wide as in its sister bar, Bierlokaal de Uiver round the corner, but it’s good enough and worth a visit. (Visited 19 September 2018).“

“A small and cosy modern bar town with an excellent beer range. They don’t serve food but pizza can be ordered in. Many thanks to Kermis for introducing us to it (and accompanying us around several other bars too) on our first night of a week’s stay in Haarlem. (Visited 18 September 2018).“

“Beerlokaal de Uiver is an offshoot of the Proeflokaal de Uiver, just round the corner, and takes its name from an old Dutch word for stork which, as well as being a bird, was the name of an early KLM passenger plane entered in a London to Melbourne race in 1934 (it came second out of 20 entrants). It was obviously a pretty good plane and this is a pretty good bar! There are 40 taps, all of them interesting, and the owner / manager who served us was delightful. As well as being friendly and welcoming, she was very knowledgeable about the beers on offer and absolutely passionate about jenever too. In fact she very kindly arranged an impromptu beer and spirit pairing session for us (for which she refused to take payment) and it proved to be really interesting and informative as well as intoxicating! Well worth visiting and highly recommended. (Visited 18 September 2018).“
