70 /100 The Doghouse (Bar) 93 FRONT STREET Old Review from notes, take my advise with a grain of salt since I was there in 2019 posting this in 2023.
We came early like 4 in the afternoon on a weekday just as they were opening and for a while we were the only people here. Located on a main st in Hamilton we parked our rented scooter across the street and up a ways. Cavernous and hint dark. I settled in with a flight of Onderock brewery beers since it seemed like the only place outside the brewery selling their brew and the brewery only seemed open on the weekend. My wife had a decent cider and the beer list seemed extensive for an island. Decent service and we had a plate of mixed fried appetizers which were ok I guess. Prices were typical tourist island pricing (expensive). Glad to have gone and experienced, but Facebook hints that they might be closed. Check before you go. |
80 /100 Devil's Isle Cafe (Bar) 19 BURNABY STREET This is a wine bar type place serving a couple of choices of locally brewed ales on my visit. Amazing wine according to my wife, very tasty small plates of food served |
66 /100 Crown & Anchor (Restaurant) HAMILTON PRINCESS HOTEL, 76 PITT STREET Upmarket restaurant & bar in the Hamilton Princess Hotel with outside seating and a couple of choices of different locally brewed ales |
74 /100 Miles Market (Grocery Store) 96 PITT STREET A upmarket supermarket on the east side of the harbour with a fair choice of US imports from the East coast |
66 /100 BKS Liquors (Beer Store) 55 DUNDONALD ST. Found BKS in Facebook before a trip to Bermuda. It appeared to be the best place in Hamilton to find beer and that turned out true. The selection there was eclectic to be sure. I came home with a number of US beers, nothing Bermudian was available. Jenefer, the owner, was a delight. |
72 /100 Flanagan's Irish Pub (Bar) 69 FRONT ST. Not a lot of options in Hamilton currently for a bar serving beer on tap. We were directed to Flanagan's, fortunate indeed. Also not a lot of options for local brews. Nothing we could find in cans or bottles, belatedly learned Flanagan's has On De Rock on draft where I got a Belgian Blonde. Spot on for an Irish bar, service was friendly and the beer was cold. |
