“On the north side of the Rhine in Konstanz, this is a shopping centre dominated by the supermarket, with a few other small units around its entrance. Plenty of sufficient beer choices for a foreign visitor like me, although hard to gauge what the selection rating would be for a local.“

“Cosy small side street venue, modern but sympathetic to the old town style it's located in - in terms of design. Friendly with beers coming from Waldhaus Brewery. Has outdoor tables in good weather.“

“In the western suburbs of Konstanz, a block or so inland from the main highway to Switzerland, this is a heavy-duty volume shop for beers rather than a bottle shop - everyone in here was buying bulk in plastic crates. There's things that you could purchase individually but locals buying bulk seem to be their main target customer.“

“Large beige building with modern glasshouse extension on the northern side of the Rhine facing the old town. It especially benefits from the large terrace on the river bank and you may have to wait on good weather days to be seated here. They have three exclusive beers made for them and a few other branded bottles. You can also buy their brews in bottles to takeaway.“

“Close to where the Meersburg ferry departs from and signposted off the sloping hill that leads to it, it's down a walkable side road. The brewery premises has a purpose-built large open plan dining room as an addition to the brewing facilities. This has elevated views of Bodensee, as does its terrace, which is where everyone sits in good weather, with its fountain providing a pleasant soundtrack. Selection from their own brews“

“A block or so north of the Cathedral on the hill in the northern area of the old town. This is a polished wood, wooden heavy two-roomed venue with outdoor seats too. The main room with the bar has a few tables around it for drinkers, with their own brews the main choices. There's four including aone called 'craft', but am not sure if this is a regular or changing effort. The rest of the room and the room to the side is for dining.“

“Pizza restaurant and pub rolled into one, it could be either with its heavy old wood design and diner style layout around a central bar. There's a few beers to choose from but choice is limited. Some tables are put outside in the old town street.“

“Within sight of the now inactive border crossing between Germany and Switzerland on a locals street just south of the city centre, this is a small bottle shop where you can sample your purchase inside. There's plenty of beers here, some regular but worthwhile German brews, but plenty of craft too, and they've partnered with a local brewery to produce their own too. There's a rear garden and seats by the front window. Newish proprietor Matt, a New Zealander taking a crash course in German, is a fantastic host and is very knowledgeable in beers. Had a mildly comical introduction where we're both conversing in our less than perfect German before realising both of our first language is English!“

“Fair sized beer supermarket with parking in a residential area, a good range of locally brewed bottled beers from the region.“

“In the old part of town this slightly touristy place is worth a visit, mostly because Konstanz doesn't have a lot of other options. The bock I had was good. Food was good to. Nice seats outside.“

“Nice restaurant with decent food & prompt service. On beer side - you have 3 standard for this chain offerings, plus 2 seasonals. At the time of my visit it was decent bock and rather atrocious "craftbeer". All in all - good place, dull beers.“

“Visited on june june 10, 2017. On a lovely warm Saturday I happened to find that lovely little bar by chance. A few minutes walk from the station, nicely placed in an narrow alley in the old town of Konstanz, this place was very inviting. Found myself being the only guest in the inside... Quite surprising, seeing all the (mostly swiss tourists) enjoying their drinks on the terrace. Definitely a insider place far from the main drag so it seemed. At first, the owner was quite reserved, insuring me it wasn’t the best place for beer in Konstanz and she’s never had an entire glass of beer in her life! Had the Joh. Albrecht Kupfer (I think it was 3.60 Euros) - reasonably priced I would imagine. The choice of beers isn’t great- limited to Waldhaus and Joh. Albrecht.. If you are interested in regional wines (from Baden-Württemberg oder Southern Germany)- and chatting to special with a very special sympathetic owner and talkative swiss tourists... this might be your ideal place. Rustic interior, friendly staff, good wines, reasonable prices and charming. Will probably visit again if I have the occasion some time. But definitely not a beer place. Very steinern - probably named after the beautiful stone wall.“

“Located in the mostly pedestrian part of old-town. Visited on a very busy Easter Saturday afternoon, but service was still quick. It has a separate dining area, but I just had a quick beer at the bar. Decent.“

“Decent beer shop in a residential area a bit of a walk away from the touristy areas. Good selection of especially pilsner and weizen, but nothing extraordinary. Helpful and spoke English. Managed to find four unrated Kristallweizen, so pretty happy with that.“

“Located at the confluence of the Rhine and Lake Constance is Constanzer Wirtshaus. While they server house beers, their’s are brewed elsewhere. I enjoyed a seat outside along the river, watching the boats and rowers ease by. There is ample seating for quite a few patrons, both inside and out. The food looked good but I was not yet ready for a meal.“

“This Brauhaus is located in an older and more residential area of Konstanz along cobbelstone streets. It was not easy to find parking nearby but I did find a garage several blocks away, and then enjoyed my scenic walk along the quaint streets. The brewer’s Maibock was still available in early June, so that was a plus as I seem to always miss these. I did not have any food but it looked quite good. The brewer was finishing up a batch when I arrived, adding to a wonderful smell throughout.“

“This chain grocery store is large and easy to find in central Konstanz. The beer, wine and liquor section is off to the left once you enter and is large. There are several aisles of beer, mostly from Baden-Wurttemberg and Bavaria, but I did find a few from Hamburg and other Bundeslander. The prices are pretty good.“

“This is a nice brewery and restaurant located on the banks of Lake Constance. The brewery is large and quite busy while I ate lunch on the restaurant’s large patio on a gorgeous early June afternoon. The restaurant serves traditional Schwabian cuisine alongside a fair selection of house beers. My server was a bit slow despite only having two tables, but I have come to appreciate not being rushed. Konstanz-Staad is an easy ferry ride from Meersburg, or a pleasant countryside drive from Zurich. Either way, this is a place worth visiting.“

“It’s a newly made restaurant in a style like a classic Swabian or Bavarian Wirtshaus. It has a huge patio facing the Rhein, a hall with a glass roof and two smaller rooms with wood panelling. The food is delicious and on weekends there is Steckerlfisch. The contract beers are pretty good and there are 5 more beers you normally don’t see. In total it seems high quality, the hole concept is harmonious.“

“It’s a very small, nice bar with wood interior and wooden beams. The beer is a lot cheaper then in Brauhaus Joh. Albrecht itself but also tastes older. For food there are some/enough snacks. All in all its a nice cosy place, when you just want to drink a beer or wine.“

“It’s a medium sized restaurant with a lot wooden interior, a wood fired oven and flatscreens for soccer. The service is friendly and quick, even at a full house. The selection of beers is little better than average but the the selection of food is pretty good, local, really tasty with big servings.“

“Ein gemütliches Brauhaus, mitten in der Konstanzer Altstadt. Das Ambiente gewinnt viel durch das integrierte Sudhaus. Die geringe Auswahl an selbstgebrauten Bieren wird durch Standard Biere erweitert und das Essen ist auch recht gut. Draußen ist leider nicht viel Platz, weil es eben mitten in der Stadt ist. Zusammengefasst ein schöner Ort um seinen (nicht sonnigen) Nachmittag zu verbringen. The 10hl brewhouse is in the middle of the big room. There ist hops and the bar is made of copper. There are always 3 beers on Tap (German Hefeweizen, Pils [called Messing], Dunkel [called Kupfer]) and sometimes seasonals. The food is classic Swabian kitchen an there is Haxn-Day on mondays. It’s always crowded on weekends, so call if you don’t want to wait for a table.“

“Went during the day and it was really quiet, although the brewer was happy to have a chat. We got some beers and settled down near the shiny brewhouse. They were ok without being anything outstanding. Not much else to say about this place, other than if you’re looking for a brewpub in Konstanz this is probably the place to go... If you’re looking for good beers, I’d personally stick to the local Ruppaner beers.“
