“This place is very much a brewpub first, and seems to be the favorite locals dinner spot. Lots of people, lots of families, eating dinner. Bar was busy, but there were spots. I got there at the end of happy hour and ended up with a $5 dopplebock pint, which was better than its ratings. Not a bad place.“

“Large space a couple blocks from Lodi brewing, but much quieter. Large open rollup doors, brewing tanks on full display. Tables on both sides of the doors. No food or anything, but there is a place right next door. 10 taps running, flights of 4 or 6. Service good, beer mediocre.“

“Last stop of the Lodi brewery tour. Beautiful clientele and staff. 15 beers on tap including a nice BA stout and a POG. Otherwise beers are meh. Easy parking. Fantastic pizza, which itself is worth the visit. Flight of 5 x 5oz=$15.“

“Nice stop on the Lodi brewery tour. 11 beers on tap: all easy drinking styles. Located in downtown Lodi. Great established old brick feel. Very crowded on Friday at 7PM. Mostly a restaurant. Go here for food, or a tick. Beers are good, but ordinary. Flight of 3 x 5oz for ?$. I can see the Danish beer group touring through here in 2011 trying every beer on tap.“

“22 beers on tap. Nice wide range of styles, including a barrel aged sour stout, and a barrel aged barleywine. Spacious with lots of parking. Nice patronage on Friday at 6PM. $2 for 4oz tasters.“

“Nice spot in an industrial lot, worth hitting on the way into Sac if you're coming from the south. Big property, with a large patio and fairly sizeable warehouse-like interior. You order up the counter. Flights of 6 available, priced by the beer -- mine came to about $16 -- pretty damn reasonable for what I got. They had a massive taplist of about 30 beers, with lots of ambitious styles (BA sours, barley wine, and so forth). Beer quality wasn't exceptional, but most were dialed in well and fairly on-point. Not a world class spot, but a very solid brewery doing good things. Worth hitting if you're passing through.“

“Large place, nice outdoor space in back with plenty of shade and a whole lot of barrels. Barrel aged sours were the highlight of the taplist, tasty stuff.“

“This is a fun place. Wagner Valley Brewing Company currently has 12 draft lines with styles rotating often and ranging from light to dark, bitter to sweet. Dogs are allowed on the deck. I enjoyed the "Sled Dog" beer very much.“

“Pretty fun spot. Huge multi-section venue with a winery, brewery, store, restaurant, etc. all on one site. Off the brewery there is a huge partially covered patio overlooking the lake. Had about 10 of their beers on, with maybe 7 of them available in bottles as well. Growler (and crowler I believe) fills available too. Amazed at how much outdoor seating they had between the patio and the lawn below. They could probably have 500 + people drinking here comfortably (though they would need a lot more bars to handle that volume). On our visit there were maybe 25 people here, so it was no issue. Plenty of places to spread out too. Beers are solid, not outstanding, but pretty good. Would love to be a regular just because it would mean I’d be drinking beer by that lake view regularly. If you are anywhere in the general area, it is close to a must stop just for the combo of craft beer and views. “

“Not really a bar. It’s better than that. More like a tap house with wine tasting. Best on tap beer place in valley. Most of the beer isn’t the everyday beer from the breweries, it’s the new/experimental/hard to find beer. Owner goes way out of his way to bring in great beer. If someone in your group doesn’t want beer, they have great Lodi wine to drink/sample. Service is outstanding. Very knowledgeable of both the beer and the wine. No food for sale but you can bring it in from the restaurants that are just a few steps from the establishment.“

“Nice old building downtown, a big bar on one side with tanks in the middle, restaurants on the other side. The beer was decent, nothing special but not bad. Good prices.“

“Ambience resembles Lodi Beer venue, but a bit more rustic - sort of a French/Tuscan/Antique American vibe. Super service. The one house beer available was quite nice. Their house reds seem superb. Margarhita pizza was excellent. Gets a bit crowded at lunch time. Recommended, but it’s not a beer tick joint.“

“Almost walked by this place, but on their patio, they had "Winery, Bakery, Brewery" on the facade, so I decided I’d see what that was about.

There are a ton of vineyards and wine places in Lodi, and these guys are a part of that, but they buy grapes from other vineyards to make the wines they sell. So, this place is sort of more of a cafe than anything, but they sell a lot of wine and they had maybe a dozen beer taps on. Their production facility is a couple blocks away, but wasn’t open to the public at the time of my visit...the brewing operation is apparently quite new and small scale.

Only one house beer on during my visit, but lots of other beers available. I got a pour of their saison, which was good but more in line with a typical Belgian blonde/pale ale.

Anyway, a cool little spot and I’ll probably be back whenever I’m in the area. Hopefully with some more house beers on. Also, their bread here is quite good.“

“I haven’t been to Lodi since I was in my early teens for a soccer tournament. My girlfriend just moved to the Stockton area for a job, so while visiting her we stopped here to try out the closest brewery to her new place.

Has a very classic feel in terms of the decor. Brass, dark stained wood, lots of natural light...big beautiful bar. Solid ambiance for sure. Kind of a funny dichotomy between the servers and the patrons, the former almost exclusively being attractive 20 or 30-something year old women and the latter being obese middle aged men...not that this is a unique dynamic in the service industry.

Anyway, they do a sampler here and it’s pretty dirt cheap. They also had a barleywine flight (regular and two barrel aged versions) for like $6-7 for a small snifter pour of each. So, good deal. Unfortunately, beer is just average, but I didn’t really think any were terrible, other than maybe the Rye barrel Barleywine.

In summary, a cool place and good service with cheap drinks.“

“Over the years have been here about 5 times. Great view off the large deck. They have some nice house beers, but not many on tap. The food was good in the restaurant. My biggest complaint in the past was that it was too crowded and too awhile to get more beer to bring on the deck. Last time there they did have another bar area added.“

“Pretty cool place. One of the early adopters of beer along alongside wine. Nice standard selection. I’m particularly found of their 2x and 3x bocks. A deck with music in season. Nice prices and vibe.“

“I was raised in Lodi and visit friends and family often. I’ve been here over 20X over the years as it’s the only place downtown to have 20+ people. The food menu is limited IMO, the consistency goes up & down like a yo-yo, the service is usually good but I’ve had a few bad experiences, and the beer is awful. The best beer is the Porter. The Moke Red is ok, the IPA is horrible. The downtown area of Lodi is beautiful with many other restaurants and bars, but what it needs is a 30 tap place with good solid food.“

“Predominantly a gift shop with a cafe next door. Tons of wine selections. If you go back to the brewery you can get a tasting going. Three bucks gets you a sample of seven of their beers, and you can try the trippelbock for an extra dollar. Very friendly staff.“

“An average brewery, their beers were OK, but it is a cool place with a nice view of the lake. It would be a nice place to drink if it is a nice day they have a huge deck area. They only had a couple beers on tap and unfortunately we go there just before closing so we tried some beers and left quickly.“

“I stopped in early on New Years Eve on my way back from Sacramento down 99. I pulled into town right at opening time (11am) and was the only customer there for the first 20 minutes or so. The one server was taking chairs down from the counter and getting ready for the day while I worked through my sampler. The place has an interesting set up where the brewery is right in the middle of the room and the restaurant surrounds it. Everything about the place is old timey from the building to the dark wooden furniture to the street that it’s on.

The beer wasnt very good sadly but I was excited to try their eisbock. Not entirely sure that it’s even a lager since the bartender told me that the work eis means one in German (in case you don’t know, eis means ice and they are pronounced the same way). I don’t think I’d go out of my way to stop here but the town is cool if you’ve never been. More of a curiosity than anything else.“

“A winery that also makes beer. I wasn’t impressed with their wine, and the beer was pretty mediocre. Seems like they would have been relevant several years ago as the craft trend was taking off, but they have done little to stay up with beer trends. Their big beer was their Tripplebock, which wasn’t great. The staff was friendly but bland, and the people sampling the beer were NOT beer people.“

“Unexpected stop on the way back from hiking in the Finger Lakes National Park. They were providing tastings of 6-8 of their beers for $1 per person. I was pleasantly surprised by several of their beers fresh on tap and will be looking for some in the stores to compare. Beautiful location among the other wineries of the area.“

“A beautiful brewpub, art nouveau parisian meets 1910s NY, with metal girdles, very classy, nice upscale menu, but for the beers, most of them were subpar.“

“Well things have vastly improved in some ways since DYCSoccer17 was there. The decor is huge interior with lots of wood and stone and an old metal stamped ceiling. Looking pretty spiffy. Cajun burger with garlic fries was excellent. Number of selections may be down. Sampler ran to 8 beers. Service was tops. It’s very family friendly. Beers were above average for a local brewpub. Miles ahead of most BJs.“

“Stopped by while at a wedding in Waterloo. I didn’t sample any wines or beers, just picked up some of their beer to bring back to NC to try. Place seemed nice. My uncle did the tour and ate at the restaurant on site. Said that the food was excellent as was the tour.“

“Stopped here during a wine tour. This really wasn’t my kind of place at all. Very touristy, which I expected as it is primarily a winery. However, service was very slow. They only had one guy pouring samples- I would have to say it took almost a half an hour to sample their five regular beers. Beer was average to above average on a couple, but for the average beers I didn’t any flaws in them and weren’t unenjoyable to drink. On a plus side, they have a very nice deck with a great view of the vineyards and the lake below. I would say worthy of a stop if you happen to be in the area already- but I wouldn’t go out of my way if I wasn’t. Their beer is easy enough to find in bottles in upstate NY.“

“Visited Noon 3/3/07. Located in a rather large cavernous downtown building, the architecture and interior design is somewhat reminiscent of a German beer hall. The middle of the restaurant is interrupted by mash tuns and fermenters. The decor looks very old and authentic, but the bartender states that almost none of the decorations other than the ceilings are original. Restrooms were clean. Bar is on the left, which is polished and well-kept. A few TVs surround the bar area, Approximately 10 beers were on draft. 3 seasonals. I had a few 10 ounce servings, and it seemed like they were using frosty glasses for a few of their offerings and room temps for other offerings. The beer was mediocre. The bartender was nice and attentive, but it wasn’t overly busy either. He saw I was rating and poured me a few samples of other beers without me asking. I had the Island Burger, which was ok. The bread seemed kind of stale and the fries were definitely frozen ones which had some freezer taste to them. The menu was ok and typical. All in all, this place is pretty vanilla.“

“The wine server blew me away and I was let down by the brewery server. The samples were kind of small and the server wasn’t very in to talking about the beers other than filling the glass and citing the name. I paid $2 to have all the beers. There is a cooler where you can buy Trippelbock bombers for $9.99. The beers seem to have an extreme variance as Trippelbock (which wasn’t available on tap), doppelbock and the IPA are tasty and the hard lemonade, the lager and honey wheat are hard to drink. The setting is nice. A cafe, winery section and brewery section overlook Seneca Lake and parking was ample. This is not the only brewery in the area. Rooster Fish is in Watkins and there are two mead producers on the other side of the lake (Lakewood and Earle Estates). Ithaca Brewing is 20-30 minutes away. I would have enjoyed the brewery if it was as welcoming as the winery and not jusy an area stuck to the side. The gift shop is huge and has discounted clothing. My daughter enjoyed feeding the fish in a small pond. Wagners is fun!“

“Stopped by whilst wine tasting in the Finger Lakes. Beer tasting is $1-2, for about five or six beers. Beer is just ’ok.’ Everything they make was available in growlers or 12ozs, though, and they did have plenty of stock.“

“Overlooks the Seneca lake area. Great views from the deck. Beer tasting costs $1 0r 2, depending on how much you wish to taste. Beer overall is good, the pick of the bunch being the Belgian Wit. They have mixed some of their own champagne in with this beer which gives it a wonderful appearance. This also smoothes out the coriander, giving this beer an overall pleasant taste.“
