“This was a really nice joint. Apart from the local breweries, this is a must stop. Lots of singles, regional and other sixes. Laid back bar area, patio. Accessible. Cool spot. Food truck the (Monday) night I was there and other chow close by.“

“What a welcome addition to downtown. Sitting on a patio and drinking at a brewery has been a long time coming. The beer is tasty and pretty good quality. The selection is broad enough to have plenty of desirable options without pushing any boundaries. I tend to stop in Maryville when coming through the airport so I'm sure I'll be back at Tri-Hop.“

“This strip mall location looks strikingly similar to the other strip mall locations. It's fairly sterile but not as much as say, the Papermill location. The beer was generally a little fresher than I've seen at some sister stores. Pretty extensive tap selection with lots of TN product. There isn't a ton of competition in Maryville, so this could come in handy.“

“A must stop if you're in the area. Way cool inside. Good taps, good swag, good event venue. Lots of to-go limited editions, distro BlackBerry cans. Engaging service.“

“$5 pints, all their own stuff it seems. Decent atmosphere - there was a mediocre band tonight, the place is clean and accessible with good parking. The beer is mediocre, but inoffensive. They're open late in a town that kinda rolls up the sidewalks around 9 PM. Service was meh - had to flag the barkeep down for my second pint - but she seemed to give good attention to the regulars, which is an important quality in my book. I see the term 'mediocre' has cropped up a bit in this review -- there's a reason for that. I wouldn't pull off the Interstate (75/40/140) unless you're hard-pressed for a couple of ticks.“

“Downtown Maryville, TN. Parking is slightly challenging at night - there's street parking all around, but it's limited in front. Clean, friendly, spacious. Seating looked like it might get limited inside on a cold night. Uncovered patio out front. As of 11/27/19, they were still working on their brewery, but there were 10-12 TN beers on tap. There was a to-go cooler chocka-block full of a lot of regionals. I'll stop back by here someday to see what they're brewing. Decent stop, if you're in the area. Not worth a detour off of I-75 near Knoxville yet.“

“This review is for Tri-Hop before they brew their own beer. For now, it's just a beer bar, but a pretty cool one. It's a converted grocery store, but, like one of those small town independent grocery stores from the 1950's. Very cool old bar and plenty of seating room, as well as a few TV's. Patios front and rear, with the rear ones overlooking the Maryville Greenway. Service has always been stellar when we've gone. Nice stop if you find yourself in Maryville.“

“I've been a fan since Blackberry Farm finally started distributing some of their bottles and they've been consistently great. Visiting the farm itself is beyond cost prohibitive so I am pumped to see this outpost open. The taproom is in a warehouse located within a mile from downtown Maryville. The interior is cozy enough and very much feels like a brewery taproom. The thing I was most excited about was the ability to drink several different Blackberry Farm beers in one location and the selection did not disappoint. Plenty of harder to find and taproom only offerings were alongside some of the delicious staples. The bonus was the large selection of bottles and cans as well as Blackberry Farm meats, cheese, smoked onion jam, ramp spread, etc. etc. All the beer is excellent and the atmosphere is very lively. I may now have a reason to pop over to Maryville when I'm in Knoxville.“

“We stopped by on opening weekend and it was PACKED. It's a converted warehouse with a few long community tables and some singe tables in the along the walls. There is a stylish concrete bar and a bunch of barrels in the back. Oh, and a cooler with take home beer and some merchandise across from the bar. The service was pretty good considering that was the second day it was open, and the prices were average. The beer, of course, was stellar...“

“I could've sworn I'd rated this place. Anyway, it's a Casual Pint, so you pretty much know what you're getting: A lot of room temp package beer and a few in a smallish cooler, a bar with a decent selection for on-premise drinking, strip mall ambiance, Friendly, reasonably knowledgeable staff, and good-not-great prices.“

“It’s cool that Barley’s has expanded into Maryville. In years past, it’s been challenging to find a good beer bar around these parts. If you’ve been to the others, you know what to expect. This one is in much better physical shape than the one in Old City Knoxville. The tap list offers plenty of regional stuff that seems to rotate with a good mix of breweries represented. Happy hour is from 11-7 which is a nice bonus. I’ll definitely be back if I’m around this area.“

“Large bar area and many tables. Traffic is a bit tricky. Selection was standard SMB a brewers reserve available that was new for me. Server was good, knew about the beers and was friendly. Pricey, when I go back it will be happy hour. WIFI.“

“Located in a strip mall parking can be dicey evenings. Good beer selection feel sure it would be better if not for screwy Tn beer laws. Servers were knowledgeable and friendly. Long bar with tables behind it. WIFI. A good especially at happy hour.“

“A slightly comfier feel to the place than some of the others in this regional chain, but pretty much the same suburban strip mall, under 6.3% abv bar/retail beer store shtick. It’s the McDonalds of beer, you know you can expect the same stuff at all the locations: 22 decent drafts and 200 bottles all of which are available in singles and mixed sixers. Service was decent and fairly knowledgeable. No food service, but food trucks a couple of nights a week or you can bring your own in. Larger patio than the other locations opens in nice weather. Silent sports on TVs and the dinosaur rock over the pipes was quiet enough to not become annoying and carry on a conversation.“

“It’s a small place that focuses on wine and liquor, but WOW this place has certainly upped their beer game since they first opened 5 years ago. The Malt Vault is a nice walk-in cooler where beers are kept at about 60-65 degrees. Others are in a refrigerated (~45F) upright display and there are 4 well-selected taps for growler fills. The ambiance and service are both relaxed and unhurried, which I like. They also discount bottles to move before expiration, which is mostly a foreign concept in the beer desert of East Tennessee. Not really a beer destination to seek out, but it’s in the top tier in East TN and definitely the best in the Alcoa/Maryville area.“

“This is a new place in Maryville. The selection is a good as you are going to find in the area, and beer is stored in the "Malt Vault" at cellar temps. Good service and attention to detail. If only I lived closer...“

“For the East Tennessee area they have an excellent tap selection. Family friendly with a nice staff that knows a little about the regular beers, but nothing about the seasonals and rotating taps, even at the bar... Best place in Maryville for real beer, although that would not be saying much to anyone from outside Tennessee. Pretty nice half price pint deal on Mondays and happy hour pricing is good as well. Only about a quarter of the 50 taps are clogged with junk. The rest are a reasonable selection of craft brews, with a good emphasis on regionals. Only two "high gravity" taps (both only about 6.8%) the couple of times I’ve been. Food is average-to-good, with nothing awful but then again nothing that I feel the need to return for.“

“Located in a newly renovated building in Downtown Maryville. Lots of polished hard wood and exposed brick. It’s a two story building, with the down stairs being more of a regular bar/restaurant and the upstairs has bar, pool tables, and performance space. There are 20 something taps down stairs and about that many upstairs, and the service was prompt and courteous with out being over bearing. Really nice place.“

“Doesn’t feel much different from the other Smoky Mountain Brewery locations. Decent but unexciting beer, food on the good side of pub grub. Service is a little bit panicked, but good enough. As of now they aren’t brewing at this location (getting their beer from Bearden, I believe), but I think they are planning to in the future. Great value at happy hour, btw.“

“Went there for happy hour. The bar was packed at 4:30, but I managed to find a table. They do not brew here, but they have moved several tanks in and they they are sitting on what appears to be valuable seating real estate, so I assume that brewing might be in the future, if some local restrictions get changed. Anyway, the service was attentive but not overbearing, the decor was pretty run of the mill chain restaurant, and the food was above average. I’ll go back...“

“What makes this location even worth mentioning is the location - it’s pretty much in the middle of nowhere. It looks like a standard mini-mart, but sells virtually everything yuou can buy in the under 6% range in the Knoxville market. Stuff like this may be common in Washington or Oregon, but you simply do not find 130 micro brews in rural East Tennessee.“

“Like nearbeer, I stumbled across this place while driving over to get some prosciutto from bentons. 145 beers caught me by surprise so I turned around. Purchased a bottle of Rogue Chocolate (750ml) for $$6 and a 4 of Samual Smiths Oatmeal for $12. Prices were a little high overall but for a decent micro or import there is near 0 selection in that area so I would certainly stop again if in the area and in need.“

“A convenience store located where most folks would call almost nowhere (about 8 miles south of Maryville, in the Greenback community) that caught my eye with their small sign saying 130 IMPORT BEERS. So I turned around and checked it out. They didn’t stretch the truth by much, although probably 20 or so are macro imports and some others are US micros (which are always called imports in East Tennessee!). This place surprisingly has the best selection of under 6% beer in Blount County I’ve seen, and is probably second only to Leaf & Ale in the Knox Metro area. No Belgians, but Flag Porter and a few others I haven’t seen in the area. Only drawback is only about 25% are available in singles. Not really worth a special trip, but if you are on the west side of Maryville it’s only another 10 minutes. Friendly staff that didn’t know a thing about the beer.“
