“Guided tour with Glenn. Great to hear the story of the brewery and their philosophy. Great beers to try. If you get a chance, go on a Wednesday when they are open.“

“Visited with a small group with a guided tour. Very friendly co-owner showed us around and talked about Alvinne with a tasting of their beers. Nice bar area on top of a storage and they even have their private bar in their office.“

“Stopped by on a recent trip to BE where we hit up 11 breweries. Nice loft area looking down on the brewery. My experience differs from the other reviewers, as I felt I was walking in on a private party and was not offered any service, almost to the point of being ignored. I understand they are only open the first Saturday of every month (which it was). Not sure what was going on, but finally was able to get a few beers to try, which were all good. Wouldn’t bother going back.“

“been here almost a year ago ( april 2013 ) but forgot to rate it . we had a very memorable service . before visiting, alvinne was, to me , a try-to-be-great brewery ( i know ) but visiting here deffinetly made me ashamed of ever thinking that . we drank some beers straight from cask, and they were freaking phenomenal . Their foeder is the best ! talked much to the brewers too, they are awsome guys . deffinetly one of belgian’s best“

“A very fun place to visit. This is a bottle shop, a brewery and a tasting room all in one. You walk in through what looks like a back door and climb a steep small stair. You wonder if you took the right door. The place is very “raw” and really feels like a backstore. First of all it is important to know that the bottle shop is not an Alvinne bottle shop. I’d say that Alvinne bottles accounted for no more than 5% of the total amount of bottles in the shop. They have a privileged relationship with Struise and this bottle shop is actually a much better place to find cool Struise bottles than the Struise bottle shop. Overall I’d say that the bottle shop has one of the most interesting selection I have seen in Belgium. Certainly in the top-5 selection I have seen in Belgium. Limited Struise, Alvinne, De Molen, a bunch of Danish brews, even cool American brews. They had a few beers in the tasting room but it looks as if they were having a friendly get-together so I did not interrupt. Just paid for my bottles (good price) and was on my way. Because of its unreal setting and selection I found it to be my most pleasant beer shopping experience in Belgium (twice I was in the country)“

“Visited during ACBF 2012. Quite busy (obviously), but with a great atmosphere. Lovely conversations @ De Proefloft, and a nice selection in the beershop, not too big, but nowhere near small either. Great staff and volunteers.
Pitty it is such a long drive from where I live, would love to go back much more often.“

“Visited during the 2012 acbf. Atmosphere is industrial, but I don’t mean that in a bad way. Nice loft overlooking the brewery, cool! Nice beers on draft and in the shop. Selection could be bigger, but very decent prices. So al in all, definitely worth a visit!“

“Probably wrong timing (well..). Visit during ACBF. The shop had a small selection, but only great beers. Slightly disappointed by that. The festival was great, overwelming and superb.“

“Absolutely adored this place upon visiting – not long after the relocation. Upon entering I was immediately greeted by Glenn with a beer in hand for me. Smelling the brewery as you drink beer tapped straight from the fermentation tank – still fully alive & almost warm to tough & incredibly raw is amazing as it feels like you are drinking the brewery itself. Tour was nice & Glenn was an amazing host, wound up chatting for 2 hours or so as he opened & shared a couple of bottles on the house for me. Beer shop is small but is downright mind-blowing as far as choice & price goes with lots of incredibly stuff which you won’t be capable of getting anywhere else in Belgium. Some breweries you adore for their beers but this one you just want to support for the people themselves. Only downside it is middle of nowhere & hard to incredibly hard to get there, would be probably overrun if it were any closer.“

“Note moyenne pour la brasserie depuis 5 ans je n ai pas goute un produit non infecte. Faire 30 recettes, barriquer quand la biere ressemble a un mauvais brassin amateur c est inutile. Le shop est interressant un peu cher et tres tres geek selection.“

“The GPS took us through a few miles of tiny campaign roads, too narrow for two cars to face each other, in order to get to this improbable place, in a miniature industrial park. It must be pointed out that they moved earlier this year. Once you step in, you enter like you’re home, no one is there to greet you, but you hear a few voices coming from far away. Brewery smells invite you to step up the stairs where you’re forced to walk through the beer store area where they stock only the finest, maybe less than 200 products, but all top-notch stuff and a very heavy proportion of imports for a Belgian beer store. You keep walking on and reach the brewery, no longer the picobrouwerij of the beginnings and you gain access to the loft, a few stairs up and giving view on the brewery. This bar area can probably sit 50 people or so for events. I guess events must be terrific with the passion and friendliness that the owners showed us on a very ordinary October early Wednesday. We tried a pretty good Morpheus Extra on an almost empty stomach. It was fun to meet the very accesible owners though. Frankly, reaching Alvinne is quite a detour from most beaten tracks and I suppose that this near-pilgrimage helped bumped up their place ratings, and so did their events which seem to be quite a pull. I loved visiting, the guys were excessively friendly and welcoming, the beer store had tons of stuff we wanted to buy, but I don’t quite believe it deserves to be a top 50 beer place in the world. For an event though, I would definitely like to be there.“

“A very nice place to go to. People from Alvinne are most kind, welcoming and friendly. What’s more is that there is a beer shop within the brewery , with a superbe selection of beers from almost everywhere in the world. A must vivit for every beer geeks .“

“Visited the new brewery in Moen. Incredible new set up in an older style factory-warehouse building but obviously with a lot of work went into remodeling the interior and give it a very modern brewery. Brand new equipment will expand Alvinne’s capacity. A nice loft-tasting room overlooks the new brewery while keeping a Belgian feel to it. A 100L keg-pump allows them to pump straight from the tank to the bar and serve beer as fresh as you could get. Of course, service is always top notch, with Glenn and Davy as hosts. The place to go for the Alvinne beers along with a very good selection of guests beers in the beershop which is also being remodeled to allow people to shop. Good things from one of Belgium’s leading beer innovators. A small operation that keeps growing at its own pace while always keeping a very friendly atmosphere. Unlike bar or store this is the place where the magic happens, and Alvinne deserves a perfect score for their hard work.“

“(refers to the old place in Heule) The "zolder" is always a nice place to visit. Good atmosphere, both due to the brewers and the other visitors. There’s always something nice to eat, but usually limited to only 1 thing. Lots of special beers in the shop, both Belgian and import, which makes it interesting for both foreign visitors as well as Belgian ones. Let’s hope the new place in Moen will be at least as nice!“

“Well, didn’t visit, but did order beer. Glenn went out of his way to help, and sent the bottles quickly and well packed. He didn’t object to my quite oldfashioned way of paying the bill. Even put a few extra in when one beer I ordered was unavailable. Not cheap, but worth the money. Recommended. Visited the ACBF 2012. Great venue, great organisation. Beers in the shop were not too expensive.“

“went here for the Pre-ZBF in 09’. Awesome little place with lots of character. Great array of Alvinne brews on tap and a really good bottle shop for the size. Belgium and the US are well represented and it’s apparent that this breweries friendship with others lands some really nice bottles in the shop. The brewers and staff here will bend over backwards to show you a good time. Top Notch!“

“Pretty sweet hole-in-the-wall place in a neighborhood. Glen and Davie are exceptionally nice and let us try tons of their beers from taps and bottles. The place has a "loft" of sorts with barrels, a bar, and a small but pretty wicked beershop. Lots of very hard to find stuff like BA Mikkeller Brunch Weasels, BA Mikkeller Blacks, Cantillon Fou Fone (probably gone by now), all of their beers of course, 3F, Cantillon, and actually a good amount of American stuff that you cannot find anywhere in the US like Three Floyds (not kidding). Loads of Struise, De Molen. The whole experience here is sweet but the bottleshop is pretty much superlative. Looks like Olbutikken inside.“

“Previous website: Very good service and communication. Prices are ok, always could be less ofcourse, but most webshops have around the same prices for foreign brews it seems. Will buy again if they re-open. Proefloft: Looked good, big enough and a nice atmosphere over there. Never had the chance to see the old one, but the new one do the trick for me. Realy was relaxing sitting in the coach with a beer in the hand.“

“Wonderful shop which now boasts an e-store featuring a lovely and tidy range of craft artisan delights from Europe and beyond. Packaging and postage is really good value. Service is second to none. Glenn is very efficient at returning e-mails and I must advice that you need to check their holiday periods before ordering. Awesome service and awesome value making this high on my list of my favourite shops in Europe. Fantastic experience all round. Upfdate 17th May 2011. Wow. The beer list has changed and I loved the new range. The value is spot on. New shipping charges are a god esnd and the best and easiest way of getting Pannepot to the UK. Thanks, Glenn!“

“Visited this place on March 25th. Very friendly owners who showed us the brewery and let us try some of their best beers. The beershop has a lot of goodies from all over the world but we were there to purchase Alvinne beers so we really didn’t pay the other beers that much attention. A rare gem in Belgium.“

“I’m torn between keeping this place a well-kept secret, or spreading the word, but here goes... Davy and Glenn were extraordinary hosts, sharing quite a good share of their range, including some not-yet-available brews. The beers were quite tasty, and this place has enormous potential. It’s the most personal brewery tour you can find! The store has a carefully selected range of beers from far and near, including Lost Abbey The Angel’s Share from the U.S., a huge amount of De Molen, BrewDog, etc, etc. Even Struise Brewer Urbain Coutteau joined us, and we helped his students brew a batch of Pipedream. My only regret is that I did not get to taste Glenn’s cooking, but maybe next time!“

“This was the first stop of our recent trip and what a way to kick things off! The service was fantastic - Glenn had pulled together a really tricky list of beers we’d been looking to track down and the atmosphere and setup were perfect. Walking up the narrow wooden stairs into the shop was akin to a Secret Garden experience. We sampled several of their latest brews of which the Melchior Calvados Barrel Oak Aged triggered instant purchases all round! On browsing the selection the prices were unbelievable across the board and we continued to fill our crates. I couldn’t recommend this place enough and it should become a regular first stop for all our future trips.“

“I suppose its about time I rated this. Glenn and Davy have what I think is the best beer shop in Belgium. Its the only place in Belgium where you can buy great non-belgian beers... from Nøgne Ø to Three Floyds. Obvioulsy the Belgian beer choice is great. It’s really the only shop I know where you won’t find a single "bad" beer. It may be a small store but they pack in quality! Oh and the Alvinne beers are available too ;)“

“I visited this place only once this summer, on a very hot day and I can suggest this place to everyone. Nice, familiar ambiance, the beershop and the tasting room are upstairs. The selection is very good, even though not enormous, with no filler. lots of lambics, unusual Belgians and easily the best selection of foreign beers available in Belgium. Prices are good. Glenn and the other people there are very friendly, honest and knowledgeable about their beers. A must stop when near.“

“The sign of the times: a brewery that has created space in order to sell products of their competitors - or, as I ought to say, their colleagues. And what it even more important, from those that are good in their eyes. The choice might not be quantitatively overwhelming, the quality of the goods is beyond doubt. However, what sets them apart from all other shops in Belgium, is that here the best of the FOREIGN competitors can be purchased - a true unicum in this country. So, don’t be surprised to find American, British, Danish or other fine microbrews here. Of course, some of the rarer and better Belgian microbrews will be presented as well, and the display is very inviting. The own products are in evidence, and not only can be bought, but even tasted in the adjacent room. Last but not least, every other Saturday, the room under the roof will invite you to a cunning tasting, brought together with small, but skillfully prepared food by brewer Glenn.“
