“Visited a couple of weeks ago, in search of decent craft beer in a region traditionally only known for good wine when it comes to alcoholic beverages. Spacious 'shed' with brewing installation at the back and a shop next door, plenty of tables and seats (also outdoors on the street) so finding a place to sit should never be an issue here. Very welcoming staff and owner (also the brewer), quick and friendly service and very British beers, as said owner is, indeed, an Englishman, who has apparently worked for Bass years ago but after his retirement, decided it was time for him to do what he had been dreaming of for a long time and open his own brewery with taproom. The food, though simple to French standards, was good enough, and the whole atmosphere was very relaxed, like the rater below me already mentioned. Lovely place, attracting tourists as well as locals apparently, in any case a must visit if you are in the Périgord region - I have no knowledge of anyhting comparable in the wider environment of Monpazier, a beautiful environment littered with atmospheric medieval towns and greenery. Just one recommendation perhaps: if you go all traditionally English in your recipes, then perhaps cask-conditioning them and installing a real English hand pump would certainly add to the experience.“

“My story is foolish. My name is Vincent. I am french Admin for a year now. Some months ago, somebody registered some beers of "Brasserie d'Oc". Originally, the name of brewer was wrong. There was a mix between several brewers. One was from Languedoc-Roussillon, the other one from South-West of France. One was closed. I couldn't find anything on Internet. No add. Nothing helful even on Google and Untappd. After some clues from the rating of the user, I found something about Monpazier. Some Monpazier shops are not so easy to find on the internet. I tried to contact the user. I spoiled a lot of time on the web. I had some holidays... No real journey ahead. So, I decided to go to Monpazier ?!!! 300km with my car to visit this beautiful village and the "Place des Cornières" ! After several mistakes, finally... I found this shop with the beers in a small shop of souvenirs near Place des Cornières !! Really happy :) Sellers were friendly but not really helpful about the beers. I added "Maison Barjou" as a "commissioner" society to Ratebeer. Who were the beers contracted to ?. I had only an "emb" number on the label with the "insee" number. I discovered the city was Saint Geniez d'Olt (in Aveyron)... and the brewery : Brasserie d'Olt. The beers were ok but far for being amazing. But my job was done ! Honestly, you won't find great craft beers there, but maybe 3 original beers brewed for Barjou society and their beautiful village Monpazier-en-Périgord. Nice label :)“

PLACE DITE FOIRAIL NORD
“Place du Foiral Nord indeed. Monpazier is a really beautiful village. Easy to park. Ok service and price. I found there 6 beers from a local brewery "Lutine" a few kilometers in the North direction near Le Bugue. Of course, you will find many local products (wines, foie gras).“

“Made a quick stop this morning (June 2018) around 11AM to buy some beers straight from the source. The place consists of a shop section and a taproom section/brewery and has some seating outside on the street as well as inside. The shop had quite a few customers so I had a look at the taproom section first which had a relaxed vibe and looked like it could be a fun place even though it was empty when I was there. The owners were very welcome to have me try their beers from bottles at the bar (no taps as far as I could tell), it was but to early for their full taster tray. Owner informed me they opened May 2018 and they had set up a nice looking place with some decent beers in the small amount of time (some beers were already produced before opening). Monpazier is a town worth visiting and this place looks like a definite contribution.“
