“New place in Morgnatown, in an old glass factory with a few other businesses. Impressive taplist of local craft beers, some on tap, some in cans and bottles. Small menu, BLT I had was excellent. Great service, everything inside is new and shiny.“

“Decent kroger grocery store. Stopped here because I saw this one on the way to the other kroger in morgantown, further east. Pleasantly surprised, your typical kroger with lots of good food and fun prepared food stuff in the deli but the highlight was the singles cooler. After tasting nearly 8000 beers I was able to easily find 2 mixed singles of six packs I never tasted before and guess what? They were just $10 per sixer! Great! Hey they also have a whole isle of other beers in six-packs and cases too. I also found a few sixers of local brews as well. They have a special shelf for local beers only. Worth a stop if you are driving by.“

“Down home kind of place in Morgantown. Parking is touch & go, but don't park across the street in the laundromat. Smallish interior. About 5 beers on tap. Everything else is very nice; a very friendly local bar attitude. The service was very friendly and easy on the eyes. Beers tasted good and were definitely on style. I had the cherry hibiscus sour and it was really good. Also sampled a few other brew. They don't have fights but the drafts were only $5 buck each and the girl let us taste any beer we wanted for free. Good overall beer tasting experience.“

“Small place on the eastern end of downtown, still walking distance from Iron Horse, Morgantown and Apothecary. Small tap list of pretty nice beers. The tripel and the West Coast DIPA were standouts for me. Friendly service. Cool neighborhood bar kind of atmosphere in a rundown looking building, at least on the outside.“

“Probably the best beer bar in Morgantown. Beats out Iron Horse based on selection - less of a focus on WV though they still had about half the taps from in state. Others were a mix of Belgian and other American beers. Plus, they do flights now, which pretty much edges this out for a beer ticker. Their cans and bottles selection is pretty extensive too, and a cool old European pub kind of feel inside. Service decent.“

“Cool place downtown Morgantown with a solid list of WV beers. They do flights of six, so a great place to collect your ticks from this state. Beers varied in quality - lots of breweries I wasn't familiar with here. Look out for Stumptown, the best of WV breweries I've had so far. Friendly service, and prices are good.“

“While in Morgantown, close by my hotel. Only a couple WV beers in the Pic 6, rest national beers. I did grab a couple local 6 packs. Patty found some decorations while I checked out the beer. A worker there showed where the local 6 packs were. I was disappointed they were not 4 packs.“

“Close by my hotel during our Morgantown visit. They have $4 craft beer pours on Thursday and it just happened to be the day we visited. I got a decent WV beer Haggard and Patty got a mini bottle of wine. Decent sports bar with lots of TV's and a tap list with 25 choices.“

“Patty and I stopped in while visiting Morgantown. A somewhat dark place inside on a sunny afternoon. 20 good looking beers on tap. I wanted local and had Stunt Hawg, a hazy NEIPA for Chestnet Beer works. Great beer. The Bartender says he is leaving for Cortland NY next week so we talked about NY and other North East beers.“

“Tiny place that looked like a barber shop from the road. 7 beers on draft. The couple I had were good and true to style though my "10 oz. pour" on the 8.4% DIPA was a little short. Four seats at the bar and 3 tables. Parking is a premium with four spots in the lot.“

“Very much thought this is worth a stop. All tap choices (about 10) were WV beers, that is important to me when I travel. The food was excellent and the waiter was quite attentive. Will stop again when in the area.“

“Parking here is much easier here than the original location and this is convenient to I-77. The restaurant area is good size and to the left. The bar area is a good sized area and is straight ahead and on the right. We ate lunch here and I had a beer sampler. The beer sampler is quite a few samples (it was more than 4). Nice selection of local beers on tap. The food was quite good. The pricing for the food and beer were reasonable. Worth coming to.“

“This place hasn't been ticked in almost 4 years, and I think they've made some improvements since then. HUGE for any grocery store, much less a Kroger. Smallish selection of large format bottles but a decent cider selection. 20-ish tap growler station had one or two rarities but no one was working it. HUGE BYO six pack selection. Lots of repeats and nothing rare, but I easily filled 2 six packs of ticks for $10 each. It's WV so Saranac and Harpoon will be over-represented. No service really as I used the self-checkout. Overall don't really go too far out of your way, but good place for ticks if you're nearby.“

“About a mile from my hotel. Smallish place but some high ceilings make it feel un-cramped. Salad was nice enough. Prices on food a bit high but beer prices are OK. No tasters or flights but 8 ounce pours generally $2.50-$3.00 and pints mostly $6.00. They do growler fills. Decent beer selection... no rarities but they'll have a good variety of WV ticks. I tried three and I noticed no tapline issues. Bartender was awesome.... busy as hell but provided good and prompt service to everyone while remaining calm and friendly. Overall, not really worth going out of your way for but very nice if you're in a nearby hotel.“

“Nothing but metered parking in this part of town, arrived in the afternoon, very dark inside but with a light-streaming front window and seating there. Bar and booths, a hint of artsiness but also a hint of sports bar. Good service, good and varied food menu, but I was most surprised by the beer selection and quality – flight of six WV beers less of a good deal ($15 now instead of the previously-reported $10, but they look to be in slender 5 oz glasses), chosen from a list of eleven om this day, but all very fresh and maintained and (honestly: surprisingly) quite good! I would make this my first stop in town. Unfortunately no growler or cans or bottles for takeaway. [2018.07.06: 78]“

“A nice bar/restaurant in downtown Morgantown. It has a sports pub/typical pub atmosphere. Plenty of seating at the bar and tables as well. They had about 10 taps, featuring around 7 West Virginia beers (Greenbrier, Stumptown, Parkersburg, Chestnut, Bad Shepherd). So it's definitely worth a stop if you're from out of town and want to try a bunch of different WV beers. Food is slightly upscale pub food. I got a cup of chili, which was ok, and a pretty large plate of mushroom pierogies with kielbasa. A nice stop.“

“On the 2nd floor. Rustic concrete floors. Deck/Patio with 10 tables and a flat screen. Seven flat screens indoors. 40 taps. 25 bottles. Nice menu with a variety of creative pub fare - big burgers flatbreads and pizzas. About 35 of their forty taps were pouring WV-brewed beer during my visit. Large rustic, stone bar. Large selection of liquor. Plenty of parking. Nice view of Evansdale campus. Short walk to Ruby Memorial Hospital, the WVU Alumni Center and the football stadium.“

“Visited on a Saturday afternoon. If coming here, be aware that parking is difficult. If you can walk or take an Uber/Lyft/whatever, do that. There are maybe 4 parking spots. The place is very small and the majority of the space is taken up by the brewing space. That part is walled off, but there is a big glass window that allows you to see in. When I say small, I mean about 20 people is the most that can comfortably be in here. Despite that, this is a must visit place in Morgantown. The beers are some of the best in the state. They only had 6 available on draft during my visit, plus a couple bombers of their Halleck Pale ale available. That is their best seller and one they have bottled several times, but sells quickly. On my visit there was good diversity in beer styles on draft, even having one of their first barrel aged sours. That beer was very good. Glad I had the opportunity to try that. Beer flights and full pours are available. Service was friendly and fairly attentive. Just one girl running things, but she showed no signs of being overwhelmed. She did a good job. This is a place I want to visit next time I am in the area.“

“Basically catty-corner from my hotel (Clarion Morgan, where you all should stay for its excellent location in the middle of an amazing pub crawl). Smallish place, upscale. Bartender was helpful and friendly. Heavily locally focused tap list, with set staps and a couple that rotate. Tapas restaurant. The tapas were tasty and reasonably priced. Nice place.“

“A little confusing to find as the Ratebeer map puts this in the wrong place. Cooly lit place outside, dark inside, low lighting. Upscale vibe. Couches and whatnot. Bookshelves and books would not be out of place. Somewhere around 20 taps. Regional, local, international. Flights run $10-16 depending on how many Belgians you get. 4 beers per flight. Full pours a touch high but reasonable. Saw no sign of food around 7pm on a Monday, though I see people have gotten food here in the past. I was asking a lot of asinine questions about a lambic om tap, but the bartender took it in stride. She was otherwise excellent. Maybe they no longer serve food.. it has been more than 3 years since the last review. Overall, definitely worth a stop as part of the excellent pub crawl in this town.“

“Chill place. Enjoyed my visit here. Big place, decently sized bar. Lots of tables. They can fit a crowd. Live music at my visit and the volume was perfect. 24-ish taps, lots of locals, good selection. Beer quality was good, and some nice selections. Flight is insane at 4x 8 oz. for $10. Did not try the food. Service was mixed. Half of the 4 employees behind the bar were meh, the other 2 were awesome. One dude was knowledgeable about the beer and couldn't stop giving me samples. Prices good. Essential part of the downtown Morgantown pub crawl.“

“Luckily across the street from my hotel. Had pretty much the same experience as iphonephan. Got the flight of 6 for $15, which is 30 ounces total. Not bad. Good selection of beers from across WV. I sampled Greenbrier Valley Brewing, Stumptown Ales, Big Timber, Parkersburg Brewing, and some cidery I had never heard of. Charcuterie plate for $10 had ample portions, but could have been more well rounded, as it lacked a bread component and could have used some mustards or spreads. Service was friendly and the bartender was knowledgeable about the beers and the breweries. Gave me a "taste" of a beer beyond the flight which was about 3 ounces. Slightly more upscale than average pub vibe. I see why this is the highest rated place in Morgantown. I will not be changing that!“

“Weird visit. I was there about 10 minutes. Sports bar vibe. Nearly 50 taps, which is cool, if you know what the hell is on them. I never figured it out. They have no beer list or chalk board. They have guest wifi, but, it blocks access to any website that mentions "alcohol," so Ratebeer and Untappd were out (I have insufficient coverage in this town). No info I could find on their page. So, I cancelled my order and left. Menu looked like cheap bar food. Customer service was pretty poor. I would have liked to have gotten some WV ticks here, but the other bars will have to suffice (and the next one did nicely).“

“I’ve heard for a long time this is one of the better WV breweries, so I decided to stop by on a whim. Glad I did. VERY small place. Small bar and three tables. Packed on a Saturday afternoon but I was able to squeeze into a spot at the bar. Bartender was personable, helpful and knowledgeable about the beers. Flight of 7 ran $10. Great value. Some food items but I did not try. Beer quality was very good. One could use some tweaking but the other six were all excellent. Parking sucks. Worth getting off the highway for this place.“

“Plenty of free dedicated parking, part of the same building as a party store that has some WV beers. Came before a WVU game and was not crazy busy. Several table to eat lunch or dinner, plus a long bar. Service was average, however this is not a full service place you order your food get your ware, napkins, and drink, then sit down and they bring you your food. Visited in early September, 2015.
A tiny place nestled into a small storefront in my favorite residential area of Morgantown - South Park. When I was in school here (WVU), I lived on top of a foothill, on Richwood Avenue, about a five minute walk from Mario’s Fishbowl (a legendary bar and eats that has been haunted by WVU students since 1950 - named Richwood Avenue Confectionery at that time. That neon sign is still in the window.)
Back when I lived on Richwood Avenue, on Thursday evenings, my three roommates and I would walk up to the public park a couple blocks away and play a game of 2 on 2 basketball. Then we’d walk one block to Mario’s to drink beer and watch "Cheers" on their small television (there was no such thing as even a plasma TV at the time. No public-use internet either.)
Anyway, when I looked out the front window of our house on that hill, I could see all of South Park below me.
The parking situation at Chestnut is bad. There are only a few parking places available. But that’s Morgantown. It’s what happens when you build a university and hundreds of houses and dorms on a mountain. I didn’t drive my car at all when in school. Only used it while school was in session. I would make the 2 1/2 hours drive home on holidays, but that was all. There was no good parking. Fortunately, there was the PRT.
Anyway (for the second time), once inside, the tasting room is very small and the employee or two are friendly. One of the brewers (owners?) let me sample a Jack Daniels Barrel Aged stout they had in the works. It wasn’t quite ready, so I couldn’t rate it, but it was good. The rest of their lineup was solid - far more solid than any other brewery in Morgantown at the time. Thumbs up!

Big place with a very laid-back atmosphere. Great pizza. Great selection of beer, including a couple Belgian-brewed Geuezes.
Sat at a large table with a huge group of extended family members and friends. The service was very good nonetheless even though a group our size was probably a pain-in-the-ass. Let’s Go Mountaineers!“

It shouldn’t take 10+ minutes to get drinks when the place is at 25% capacity.
